Hello everyone,
Some of you might remember a bit of a disturbance involving the esteemed Mykeru, in which he accused most of the SDMB mods and regs as being flame-seeking wankers, etc.
During that whole episode, I and others defended him as being unfairly picked upon. That he had tried to play in the sandbox like a well-mannered boy and that the bullies had jumped on him. That he was unfairly labeled a troll and unfairly piled upon.
I have seen the error of my ways.
(However, let me say that I still see a signficant clique-ish attitude among the mods of this board; that I still see a flame-the-newbie attitude among the regular members of this board.)
The difference is that I realize that once the crap begins to fly, no matter from what quarter, Mykeru invites it upon himself and seems to roll in the shit like a pig in mud. For those bothered enough for a full recap, go here.
Of course, there are plenty here guilty of similar crimes (and you know who you are), and the “don’t-copy-our-website” postings and e-mails from mods were a bit ridiculous (honestly), but he has proven himself to be nothing but a petulant child, stirring up trouble anytime someone would disagree with him.
And it gets old quickly. Ever so old.
So, to the SDMB general population, I offer a formal apology for defending such a subtle troll. He does, indeed, offers lessons from which all involved may learn - the most important of which is “Do Not Disagree with the Troll” - and the second of which is “Do Not Feed the Troll.”
