Just baked chocolate chip cookies - the house smells yum. My baking pans are gross and sticky - not gonna be fun cleaning them up. Tomorrow. I don’t feel like it today.

Survived New York City.
Saw lots of cool things, shopped less than I would’ve liked (stupid Canadian dollar grumble grumble), took a ton of pictures, walked everywhere, mastered the arcane art of reading NYC subway maps, stuffed my face with all sorts of amazing food, and am sad that I’m back home so soon. Details tomorrow, once I’ve caught up on all the posts and gotten a proper night’s sleep (not necessarily in that order).
My Halloween costume for this year is exhausted tourist with sore feet. The cats seem impressed by its authenticity.

I fear tomorrow. I’ll be up before 5 after the clocks are turned back. That is, if today is an indicator. On the other hand, I may be so exhausted, that I’ll truly sleep in.
Anyway, I was up at 6, tended to the critters, and now I’m working my way thru the boards and the comics. Labor will start soon enough. It’s cold outside, tho still above freezing by a few degrees. I’m hungry. And I wish I’d brushed my teeth - I hate morning mouth…

We went to a kind of freaky Halloween party last night. I’m not even sure that I want to give any details… But it was definitely interesting.
Then TVMan woke me up at 6 this morning (actually I was pretty much awake) because we had left the dome light on all night. Fortunately, I guess, we got in somewhere around midnight, so it hadn’t been long enough to kill the battery. We had turned it on to look for stray pieces of TVMan’s costume.

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Well, been caffienatin’ cause brekkie consumage has already happened. The overnight company has gone but will be back later minus JoeDawg for the doin’s tonight. Amazingly, pretty much all I have to do food wise is bake the beans. They’re already to go in the oven. The slaw is made and the pork is chopped up and just needs to be heated up with the sauce in the slow cooker.
I do want to mow today. Yes. Mow. I’m hopin’ this is the last time for real. The backyard at least could stand it. That’ll happen later this mornin’/early afternoon after it warms up a bit.

Not much interesting going on here; we didn’t have any ToTers last night, to my dismay. At least it was quiet, thankfully. Today will include a trip to the grocery store and I may make some potato-leek soup. I had some at work yesterday and it was delicious so it got me to thinking about making some.

Oh yeah, one of our (MD) ballot questions involves slots. I understand why some folks are against it, really I do, but it burns me up when I think of how many Maryland $$ are going to the coffers of PA, DE and WV! Why shouldn’t the state take advantage of people that are going to play the slots anyway?! Dang nab it, if folks want to gamble their money away, that’s their bidness! 
Seriously, though, I do realize that those who can least afford to will be the ones who get hurt and gambling is a terrible addiction.

We had breakfast and have been making plans to visit a friend later today. After our visit we will most likely head to my shop so that TVMan can fix my tv. The vertical hold is off so the picture keeps slowly rolling upward. After that we’re probably going to pick up the Bubster and bring him back to TVLand for an overnight visit. He just loves going for rides in the car so it should be fun.
Pretty soon, though, it will be naptime here since we both were up so early.
I now know fifteen different ways to misspell “plagiarise.” My favorite is “pleagerizize.” My second favorite misspelling (of a different word) is “magazeene.”

We had mass ToTers last night. We actually ran out of candy and hubby had to get more at the store. Good grief! We started out with tons of it too. I couldn’t believe it.
We don’t really have any plans other than to go to a friend’s house to celebrate another friend’s birthday. I’d rather just chill, but this has been planned for three or four weeks now, so it would be extremely rude to back out.
Hmm, I guess that’s all I’ve got for now. Back later, maybe.

We had no TOT’ers, but then again we never do. It’s a disappointment to me, because Hallowe’en used to be one of my favorite things. C’est la vie and shit…
I’m with you, Herbs, you can’t legislate morality, if people are gonna gamble their lives away they’re gonna find someplace to do it and revenue is good. I don’t understand sin laws, they’re silly.
I heard back from my Facebook friend, and yes, he is indeed my bestest high school buddy, hooray! leaping and bounding, gleeful handclapping This is so cool, I LOVE TEH INTARTOOBZ!! Imagine that, almost 35 years and we reconnect–so amazing, so friggin’ cool!
I made 20 dozen cookies yesteray, 4 dozen are gluten free (they came out very nicely, spread a bit more than the regular ones probably due to the fat content of the GF granola which has lots of nuts in it) then made crash NOT with veggies and too much cheese for dinner, then made a darned coffee cake because my daughter and Grandboy were supposed to come over but she got too tired and begged off. I was TAHRED and my back was starting to spasm so Himself rubbed all the kinks out for me, aaahhhh… He gives a mean backrub, he has huge hands that are extremely strong but capable of very delicate work. I think the backrubs are what prevent me from murdering him in his sleep…
