The yard is all spiffed and I am showered and fed. Things are such that I can get nappified. YAY!!!
Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed SmartiePants.
Ok, nappy poo time!
Later Y’all!

My husband bought a Roomba off of Woot. We’re using it for the first time. It’s absolutely adorable and seems to work really well!
I can’t stop watching it.
Break time. Whew. **FCD **and daughter have been working together, so I was alone in the basement. I installed the drywall in the studio, assembled and installed the frame to hold a blank-off panel under one countertop, trimmed and installed the molding around the stairwell door, and installed the last of the drywall and the corner bead in the stairwell. I also did 3 loads of laundry - the 3rd is in the dryer.
It’s a gorgeous fall day - we should be out on our boat instead of still working on this apartment. Those kids durn well better appreciate our efforts.
Oh, and the cookies I made last night are yum. That is all.
Hey, you have quite a dirty mind, you!
Almost as dirty as mine… :o
Me like…
I’m with you, too – people will gamble. Governments have always realized that, which is why raffles, Numbers’ Games, casinos etc. exist. There’s no point trying to legislate it out of your back yard, 'cos it will just go someplace else and you won’t see a dime out of it.
Not to mention that the gambling money doesn’t always go out of state – more likely a lot of it goes into illegal gambling – so allowing slots will both get the state some revenue, and probably actually save the gamblers a bit of their money!
I’ll bet (heh) that behind every legislator who opposes the ballot resolution you can find a mobster whos illicit gambling business could be hurt by the government stepping into the field…
I always thought it was spelled C-O-P-Y

Hi Noonie. Listening to you talk I somehow feel so cheap. I was just a number, just one of the many Mumper gals that you’ve had.
Smarty, I’ll never tell!
We just woke up from our nap. Except I’m not quite awake yet. Apparently I was sleeping quite well because with the phone by my head I got 3 text messages but only heard one of them.
I suppose we’ll be getting ready to head out soon.
Wait, which one were you again…?

(Being half a world away means I can get away with talking a lot of talk without having to worry about actually having to walk the walk… Which, all things considered, is probably a good thing! :o)
Normally, I’d agree on the gambling thing, but it appears that the issue on the Ohio ballot was set up to benefit the company that wants to open a casino. Charming.
There are dirty minds here? I’m shocked. Shocked! <— Shocked, I tell you.
Up again and off to the garden…

Am VERY angry with work. While I was on vacation, they decided it would be great to decide on my annual performance objectives (without my input), schedule me for a four-day training session in our satellite office (which I’ve a) missed the first day for, since it started Friday and b) wouldn’t have known about unless I’d been a keener and checked work email from home today). All of this could have either been done before I left, or waited until I got back to the office… but it’s more fun to stress me out when I’ve just gotten home from vacation.
My manager will be getting an earful from me when I’m back at my regular office on Thursday.
LiLi, most of the good food is a blur, though the highlights would be wd-50 for dinner, and Shopsin’s for breakfast… Kenny Shopsin is an insane genius (with emphasis on the insane), but he did give me an interesting Moon Pie Meatloaf recipe that I will most definitely have to try out. There were also many delicious bagels (though I prefer Montreal-style to NYC-style if given the option), some hot pear cider and apple donuts from the Union Square Greenmarket, and amazing espresso in Greenwich Village. The only ho-hum meal was dim sum in Chinatown, mostly because I think we’re a little spoiled when it comes to good dim sum.
I’m glad I don’t live in NYC, because I’d be horrendously poor from buying all sorts of yummy food and pretty clothes.
Hi all!
I’ve been to the dog park, washed two dirty mutts, taken a shower, and one load of laundry is in the washing machine. And after reading the MMP, all of a sudden I’m realllyyyyy sleeeeeeepy so I’m gonna go take a nap.
<yawn>
I think I’m pretty much done for the day. I put a second coat of paint on the molding that SIL painted. I also touched up the door molding that I installed. **FCD **is waiting for the formica adhesive to dry to finish the first countertop. SIL has gone back to work.
Dunno what I’m gonna do tonight. We need dinner - maybe sketties??
I need a shower. I think I may steenk…
My house smells like bbq. YUM!!! Guests are arriving soon. Guess I should ummm… go get ready or sump’n.
It’s nice having a weekend where I don’t need to do anything. Well, I should try again to get my checkbook balanced. It’s all screwed up because a bunch of my paychecks bounced. And I really need to clean the kitchen and generally pick up. And I’m supposed to go get my oil changed, but it’s raining and I don’t want to leave the house. But I don’t have any homework to do. So that’s nice.
little girl had her first bookclub meeting that she organized. It was a huge success but now I’m tuckered out!
Great kids-- lots of fun!
Sketties for supper were yum! I’m stuffed. I still need a shower. Long, busy day. Glad it’s almost done.
I decided I’d neglected my kitchen for too long and made a right proper weekend dinner. There’s a 3 hr short rib ragu bubbling away in the oven, a loaf of garlic bread buttered up and ready to go once dinnertime rolls around, and I even splurged on the really fancy shmancy pasta from Italy… at the moment, the house is smelling properly lived in again (not to mention incredibly yummy).
I suppose I should stop ignoring my suitcase and get around to unpacking, since I really ought to do my laundry tomorrow. Sigh. And then it’s back to the grind on Monday. Double sigh.
Can I be back on vacation? Please?
Watched 5-yr-old grandson play soccer today - it was hilarious.
!2-yr-old granddaughter plays soccer tomorrow. Not much else going on this weekend.
Wifey is at a meeting, and I prolly should be doing something constructive, or at least, cleaning something, but I’m not feeling motivated.
Gonna put a ham in the oven in about an hour, and prep some herbed baked potato fingers.
Been searching job postings on Craigs List - Blarf!
I’ll look at the Oregonian website tomorrow.
I sent a resume off a month ago to a company I’m familiar with, but they asked for a salary history, and, knowing them, mine scared them off. My problem is that I spent 30 years writing in a computer language, RPG, that isn’t in demand around here any more, but I used to make enough money that most people won’t talk to me about entry-level positions in other types of work. Blah.
Maybe the real estate business will pick back up, and maybe I’ll win the lottery. :dubious:
Maybe I’ll start the ham a bit early.
I’m up and about again. That was a very good nap!
I’m about to start frying up some poke chops for dinner, along with smashed NOT and peas. I love what Paula Dean says about “healthy” cooking. I’m not your doctor, I’m your cook!
Tomorrow I’m making lasagna. Nom nom nom! We’ll eat something healthy later this week, I’m sure of it.
Gotta get dinner ready and eaten by 7:00 - Texas vs Texas Tech! Go Horns!
Later, gaterz.
remember that busy day I had lined up? I rescheduled everything and went back to bed - I think I am coming down with something
Hey Rebo, I was watching a bit of the game too - my nephew is in the Texas Tech drum line.
We had some honey barbeque chicken wingettes here, they were very tasty. Last night I had one of the new Domino’s sandwiches, the Italian cold cut. I don’t think it agreed with me, because my tummy is still a bit upset even now.
I don’t recommend the sandwich.
Just chillin’ out tonight; will probably work on my afghans a bit while watching tv … when not surfing the intertubes that is.
We’re back from visiting and dog-napping. Unfortunately Bubba is having occasional asthma/allergy attacks and I didn’t bring any of his medicine with me.
We’re going back home tomorrow, though. Hopefully he’ll breathe a little easier when he calms down a bit.
