A Halloweenie MMP

BioRosie here’s hopin’ it’s a case of don’t wannas as opposed to teh sick.

Bumba here’s hopin’ sump’n turns up soon. I know about sucky job markets.

Everybody’s gone. YAY! Not that I didn’t enjoy it but, still, it’s nice when the party’s over, true?

Moooooom, take a shower already, geez! :stuck_out_tongue:

All the clocks that can be turned back an hour are. The rest are teevee or puter related and should, allegedly do that by themselves. Oh yeah, I did even remember to turn the clocks in the vehicles back an hour. Go Me!

It’s beddy bye time! Nitey Nite Y’all!

Well, we lost, but it was an exciting game at the end!

Mr Rebo went to bed, but I’m still up. Naps’ll do that to ya!

Dinner was yummy. I made mushroom gravy since I had a pkg of mushrooms to use up. Mr Rebo asked me if it was jarred. The noive! LOL!

I’ll set the clocks in the morning. Thanks for the extra reminder, Swampus!

Oooh, it’s raining! It’s been raining for at least a couple of hours. It doesn’t rain here much, so I’m enjoying listening to it. I also really enjoyed smelling it when I was heading to my car leaving work. Mmm. Rain. Good.

I wish it was snow, but rain has its own charms.

And I think I have only one clock-related item that I need to change, that being my watch. Everything else changes itself. Yay, extra sleep!

OMG, Rebo, that really was an exciting game! Right down to the last second! I dunno if they ever showed my nephew, but I sure hope he got out of the stadium in one piece (the fans in Lubbock went absolutely wild, and in fact earned Texas Tech a couple of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties).

Yes I am still on DST and am up and caffeinating already. I’m surprised that FCM isn’t up also, but maybe she got a good night’s rest for a change. I hope. My clocks are all set back by my reliable daughter and I’ll probably go back to bed myself in a bit. In the mean time, I’ll surf the 'net for a while.

Happy Sunday all.

Yep. We’re up early here.

So, remember how TVMan was going to work on my tv yesterday? Well, he did. Unfortunately it appeared that whatever the problem was wouldn’t be able to be fixed on location. He had planned to make another trip sometime to bring the tv back to his shop. This morning, though, he discovered that the problem could be with another tube and he wants me to try to replace it myself.:dubious: This could be interesting.

Otherwise, not too much going on here. So far the Bubster seems to be doing better. He didn’t seem to have any trouble breathing through the night.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Last night was fun. The best part was everybody bein’ gone by eight thirty. Plus, since we used disposable plates, forks, napkins etc. clean up was easy.

Today I am lector at church and it’s brunch Sunday. I’m takin’ my infamous bbq baked beans. What’s that you ask? Well, it’s baked beans with chopped bbq mixed in and then nuked to warm in the microwave since everything is already cooked. Whaddya mean it sounds like I mixed up the leftovers from last night’s dindin? I’ll have you know I planned on this. Really. Don’t judge me!

Ok, I need more caffiene and some brekkies cause tummy is rumbly.

Later Y’all!

Decided I needed to skip the niece’s acolyting this morning because I was way too stressed about everything today. So I’m going to go into the office shortly and probably won’t be back till pretty late. Such fun.

Everyone have a fun Sunday…

GT

Ooh! Ooh! Guess what???

I almost forgot to tell you all.

I got the letter in the mail that I’ve been waiting for for at least 2 months now. It was from the local hospital saying that I’ve been covered under their low income assistance program for the almost $1000 bill from 2006! This is the one that just came together all wrong and was never submitted to my insurance company and now it’s too late. Also, it’s listed on my credit report. Now I won’t have to worry about that anymore. Whew. What a relief.

Yeah, Pie!! Glad to hear some good news!

I took my shower finally (:stuck_out_tongue: @ swampy), crawled into bed, and spent the rest of the night in and out of the bathroom every 10 minutes or so. If it wasn’t coming out of one end, it was exiting the other. Even a little sip of water set me to puking.

I felt so bad for **FCD **- at one point, I had to get back into the shower to rinse off, and I wound up leaving a lot of spaghetti in there. But he was in there scrubbing away as soon as I vacated the stall. Still, it continued on and off all night till about 6 (clocks still said 7, but you know) at which point I almost felt normal. So I asked him to go to the local convenience store and get me some ginger ale. Poor guy forgot to wear his glasses and had to ask the clerk to find the ginger ale…

Anyway, apart from total exhaustion, I’m feeling better. The ginger als has been great. And after the rest of the fambly takes the boat to be hauled out, they’re stopping to get me some chickie noodle soup. I am starving, but afraid to eat - I figure soup is a good alternative.

I expect most of today will be spent recuperating. In fact, I think I’ll head back to bed for a while…

Being sick sucks.

agreed - I have found several of my college friends that way

Yay Pie! That’s great news.

Hope you’re feeling better soon, FCM. That sounds like a most unpleasant way to spend the night.

Am very sleepy this morning, and also glad for the extra hour gained from setting back the clocks. Didn’t get to sleep until 2am last night as the neighbours were having a very loud party until the wee hours (we live in a semi-detached, so we share a wall with them… albeit a very thick one designed to block out fire and most noises). This only happens once or twice a year, so I’m not holding it against them… though I’m somewhat miffed we weren’t invited. :stuck_out_tongue:

:faints:

You went to Shopsin’s? And didn’t get kicked out? And got recipes from him? I have been totally in love with him since I read Don’t Mention It in Calvin Trillin’s book, and have been reading his cookbook obsessively for the past month. It’s sooooo much fun!
Need recipe! And anecdotes! And report about what you ate!

Mornin’ everyone. I’m up, the coffee is being ingested, and that’s about it.

We had a great time last night at our friend’s house. She made wonderful chicken enchiladas and sent everyone home with a plate. We ate, we laughed, we talked, it was a just a really good time.

I need to remember to set our alarm clocks back today.

FCM, I hope you’re feeling better now.

I think (hope) today will be a quiet day. It keeps pouring rain off and on again.

Yes, we went to Shopsin’s. Both Kenny and his son (Zach, I think?) were plenty rude in that good-natured New York kind of way, and were rather bemused by our teflon-coated Canadian politness.

Kenny looks like the epitome of a greasy spoon line cook, is completely unapologetic about the fact that he uses pre-made ingredients and shortcuts where he can, and has an utterly twisted way of looking at food. He’s like… the anti-Steingarten. I am madly in love, in a totally platonic kind of way.

I’ll tell you more next time we get together. Promise. I meant to grab you a copy of the menu on my way out, but I completely forgot. It probably would’ve gotten completely soaked anyways, since it was a very wet and blustery day, so we’ll just pretend that I did and that’s what happened… k?

OK, the cats are being unbearably cute. Must go snuggle with them and promise that I will never ever ever leave them again.

Hi all!

Poor FCM, that sounds like a terrible way to spend the night. Yay for FCD getting you the ginger ale.

Yay on the resolution of the hospital bill, Pie!

I’m back from grocery shopping. I have the makings of lasagna. :: drool ::

I vacuumed a little, and I made Mr Rebo vacuum all the spiders off the ceiling in the garage where the washer and dryer are. I about freaked last night when I saw how many of them there were! Mama must have had babies. Normally, I’m not too squicked out by spiders, but the sheer quantity! There must have been about 25.

I’m having some leftovers for NOL, and then I’m gonna go start the sauce for the lasagna. Well, after I check on the Dope of course. I probably have a Feud to score.

I can’t win. The house is all mine - just me and the critters. I was going to sleep. Right.

**FCD **called twice and woke me. Then Scruffy decided she needed to go out, and she barked incessantly. So I’m up again, still tired, and starving. I hope they get here with my soup soon.

The breakfast bar is installed in the apartment and it looks great, except for one little detail - it’s installed over the plug that we put in there. I don’t know if it can be uninstalled without destroying it… For a good as my spousal unit is at remodeling, sometimes he does reall dumb stuff.

I need to find something to drink. The ginger ale is gone. I’m thirsty. And hungry. I am such a bad patient.

All of the greetings a few pages back make me feel like I should have introduced myself before chiming in :stuck_out_tongue: When you post in an MMP are you supposed to check in every day? Whoops!

FCM, hope you’re feeling better soon. Maybe some ice chips to soothe your stomach until your hub gets back with soup?

At work, waiting for the day to be over. Glad for the extra hour of sleep last night but I wish I would have slept more soundly. Too many beers too close to bed = potty breaks in the middle of the night and weird dreams.

{{{{{{{{{{{FCM}}}}}}}}}}}} :[sub]:grope::[/sub]

I’m sorry the Flying Spaghetti Monster touched you with his noodley appendage.
I keep a little baggie of crystalized(candied) ginger in the kitchen for tummy troubles. Just a thought.
If straight ginger is too overwhelming for you, I suspect you could make your own ‘ginger ale’ somehow, tho I’ve never tried it.

Baked a Cook’s ham last night. Best ham I’ve had in a looooonnnnng time. Think I’ll get another while they’re on sale.

Welcome Knickers, don’t worry, the #1 rule of the MMP is; there ain’t no rules.

I came to a realization today that does not make me happy. In one way it’ll work out a bit better, in another way it doesn’t.

:frowning:
