You love me, you really love me!
I’m back from the scannin’ and the squishin’. For the benefit of those of you who have never experienced the fun that is a mammogram, you have to strip to the waist, then don a hospital robe, tied in front. They have to take 2 films for each breast, which has you slipping one or the other arm out of the robe. That’s just silly to my mind, so when the tech is ready to start, I just toss my robe on a chair. I don’t know if it disturbed her, but it makes things easier for me. Honestly, the worst part for me is “Hold your breath and don’t move.”
Anyway, I’m done for another year. I’m assuming the bone scan will be fine and dandy. So except for a vision exam, that should be the end of my medical related stuff till next year.
Gotta leave in a little bit for class. I’ll be putting handles on the 5 mugs I threw on Tues (not nekkidly) and I need to decide how to decorate them. I should figure it out by the end of the class.
In other news, it’s almost Friday!!!
Oh lord, don’t anybody mention itching, PLEASE – my incision is starting to itch! I know it’s a good sign, but dayum! It’s driving me CRAZY!
Nekkid clay throwing. <snerk> This is a sick bunch of people I hang out with. I’m still working on how to ask to take photos of my staple-pullin’ next week. The best I’ve come up with is, “I’m not squeamish, but I have a whole buncha friends who are, so I want to gross them out!”
I had almost as much fun as FCM this afternoon, letting the vampires at me. Again. I hate Coumadin, and I wish they hadn’t put me on it – I really don’t think I needed it. It’s only for three weeks, but that means I have to go in and get stuck twice a week to check my blood. Thrillsville.
Off to do something exciting till dinnertime. Papa Tigs picked up a smoked chicken at the Amish market. Yumm!
Mama Tigs, you cute…
Just wait until they start with the staple removal. You’ll wonder why your insurance gets billed $90 for the doctor to yank them out with needle-nose pliers you could get at Ace Hardware for less than $10 yourself.
Aw, shucks, Bobbio…<blushes> It’s just nice to FEEL good today for the first time in far too long! The puppies had SUCH a lovely time snuggling, though, and it’s rare to have them both snuggled together like that, so I was very pleased we were able to get actual photographic evidence of it!
You come in here and talk about flashin’ a radiologist (or whatever the heck they are) and I am accused of TMI??? :dubious:
That sounds like a perfectly reasonable request to me.
Supper was dang good! It is my intention to be rewarded for my efforts shortly.
Um…yeah. You are a brave woman. I suppose in a few more years I might get to that point. Or maybe not, with my upbringing.
I, too, am simply dying for Friday. I have to AT WORK at 6 AM tomororw - me, the 9 to 5 gal - and so what do I do? Agree to go to dance class and get together with them afterwords at Denny’s. I prolly won’t be home until 11 PM.
Did someone say ITCHING?
No? I thought I heard someone talk about itchy, scratchy, naggly ITCHING, but maybe not… ::scratches itchy spot on back, and is very satisfied::
Did I mention I’m officially on vacation? Tomorrow’s a goofing off day (but I’ll be thinking of mika at 6am. (Sure I will, who am I kidding? I’ll be sleeping)
I’m waiting for Olga the Cat Lady to come by so she can play with Cuervo, get showed where all the food is (right where it’s always been…), then shower (AFTER she leaves you sickos) and go to the neighbor’s to celebrate a couple birthdays.
Since I’m on vacation (did I mention that?), and I’ll be right across the street, I might have a beerverage or 5…
I don’t come in all day and I come back to nekkid leaf raking and clay throwing. :dubious: I don’t even know why I bother to be shocked anymore.
Just got back from a frickin’ 4 hour class - I visibly dozed off at several points, and there are only 10 people so it was pretty obvious. In my defense I got 6 hours of sleep (my minimum for functioning normally is 7) and it’s been a rough week, what with papers and all.
But I just got off the phone with my friend and we’ve decided to go to the hookah lounge down the street to unwind. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay.
MamaTigs, your doggies so cute! MBG, enjoy your beervage(s)! Us grad students are waiting till Friday to get liquored up.
MBG, you are in DEEP DOODOO with me right now!
Just when it seemed like we had enough of a house full of critters, the opportunity to adopt Sebastian, a 4-year-old Congo African Grey parrot. I’ve started a GQ thread about it – if anybody knows anything about parrots, please stop in and help us out! We want to make sure we know what we’re getting into, obviously, since he will probably outlive all of us!
Hi everybody! Hi Meeks! Glad you stopped by. You should definitely stop by more often, even if it’s just to say hi! And hi to Twinks as well.
MBG, you stop being mean to BioTigs or I’ll tell Mom!!! And don’t even mention the word vacation in front of me. Didja read that the Columbus Bus Guy is gonna retire at the end of June? Kinda forcibly, following that little snafu a few weeks back. He got himself suspended for 10 days, too.
Taters, I’d say we were twins, but I’m pretty sure there were years between our births, so…how about we settle for long-lost sisters? I’ve figured out how to get rid of some of the stress. Unfortunately it involves going in to work this weekend, which I really don’t want to do, but I think I can get a couple of major obstacles out of the way. (And I have to go in anyway to do some testing, so I figured it would hurt a little less.) So maybe I’ll feel less annoyed next week.
All this nakedness is…disturbing.
Hope the Singulair helps, doggio.
You’re welcome to stop by for dinner any time, ME.
I notice Rue still hasn’t stopped by. But welby was here (at some point this week)! Can Ex be far behind?
Tired. Again. It’s my theme of the week. It’s almost Friday! Yay!

::waves frantically:: Hi 'Mika!!!
I am debating whether or not to share a major TMI with you all.
Whathehell, it’s my turn to do so anyway.
Warning - seriously major TMI.
Really. Do not highlight unless you are prepared to be squicked
Today, when I was, um, cleaning myself, I scratched my coochie. Accidently. I guess I didn’t have enough toilet paper to buffer my fingernails. It bled for several minutes. You’d think it was that time of the month
You can’t say I didn’t warn you.
Tigs - you need to train the dogs to flank you, so you have their body heat to warm your knees. I forgot to mention. This weekend I met a man who’d had both his replaced (three months apart) and he can now do a full squat/bounce. He said he was able to do that about a year after the surgery.
The question, Rosie, then becomes: who WANTS to do a full squat/bounce? :dubious:
I’m off to bed – night night, all!
Have you all seen this video? Warning: cuteness overload.
A “squat/bounce” is where you stand, then bend your knees all the way while keeping your back straight (or mostly straight) and pop right back up again. When I was in college, and I would go disco dancing with my friends, I called that move “the frog”. I would also slap the floor (while I was down there) before popping back up
Squeeee!!!
I love how thoughtful that cat is, like she’s pondering how to get exactly the notes she wants out of the piano.

dogbutler, I love Singulair. It works like a dream (for me, anyway–hope it works just as well for you!)
Jah, sorry about the dentist. I hate those big needles, and I have to have a lot of novocaine, too, so I always have to get lots of shots. I’d rather do just about anything else than go to the dentist.
Mama Tigs, those are some cute doggies! I wanna come over and snuggle with them. Sebastian is gorgeous! He wants to come live at your house–how can you say no?
FCM, I’m sorry you had to get your boobies squished. I’ve never done it, but it doesn’t sound fun. Boobies are not meant to be flat!
FCM, my late mother-in-law once told me the way to practice for a mammogram - shut your tit in the fridge door. I haven’t had one yet - and at my age I really should. Not having medical insurance is a pain.
The Snakes won tonight 4-3 in overtime. I have to give Jacksonville credit; they are not the same team they were at the beginning of the season. We used to pretty much take them for granted as an easy win - no longer.
Connor is out for at least two weeks and maybe for the rest of the season. He got slammed into the boards Tuesday night and sprained/pulled a bunch of ligaments in his ankle. The injury bug has sure hit us hard the last month or so - we need to get some repellent.
I will probably not have internet tomorrow - Knology is supposed to turn us off at midnight and there is no telling when Charter will show up to connect us. I will be suffering. Don’t have too much fun without me.
I am way overdue for my squishing.
A must share pun:
A grenade fell onto a kitchen floor in France resulting in Linoleum Blownapart
swampy, you know I loves ya. Come back to JigZone.
ahhhhhhhhhh kittieeeeeeee!!! dies from cuteness overload
In other news, mango-flavored smoke is delicious.
Hello everyone!
Hi Meeks! I’m glad you stopped by, I’ve missed seeing your posts.
Work was a little better today, still not tons accomplished, but enough. Tomorrow, I’ll really dig in, unless I am tasked to do something in response to to all the ridiculous press we’re getting.
I spent over $100.00 for books today; two for my daughter and two for me, and none of them are for anything remotely fun. I still have to get one more guide for my daughter. She needs the Princeton Review AP book for Psychology. They were all out of those, so we bought a Barrons until I order the Princeton Review. I bought a couple of books related to VB and VBA; oh so fun.
Had a funny thing happen at work. One of our IT guys asked if I’d be a test bed for him. I knew what he meant, but still I kidded him and gave him the :dubious:  looks and said, “Say what?!” He said “Hookay, that came out really wrong; I’m leaving now”. Anyway, I guess you had to be there, but it was funny.
Bio Tigs, your knee most definitely looks better and I’m glad to hear that you’re in less pain. Also, I would not be squicked out by staple removal pics. I watched closely when they removed mine from my abdomen. I didn’t feel a thing.
Your pups are adorable. Mine is trying to give me loves right now.
I am ever so glad that tomorrow is Friday. I’m looking forward to the weekend.
Well, off to watch some TV. See you all tomorrow night.
