Whew. I’m done. I just spent TWO HOURS ironing. First I had to press the roman shades, then the drapes. All are hanging and I’m not sure I like the drapes now that they’re up. They look too green… But maybe they’ll grow on me.
**FCD ** installed 3 shelves in the closet. It’s a unit that can be adjusted at will, and for now, it’s adjusted for 3 shelves. He also hung the closet doors. The only thing we didn’t do is the electrical, but we’re both pooped.
Second load of clothes in the dryer, third in the washer, and one load in the basket waiting to be put away. We’re going to have Polish sausage for supper - with kraut, I think. But for now, I’m taking a little break. Where the heck did my weekend go??
woohoo - change of plans. Sausage back in the fridge. Sweetie’s taking me to Olive Garden. No cooking! No dishes! YAY!!

How in the world do two people manage to produce so much laundry? "Tis a puzzlement.
Back from work, part one. Everything worked. Now let’s hope that nothing breaks during this afternoon’s upgrade. I get to go back later to make sure stuff is OK.
Also made another trip to Kohl’s, got three pairs of slacks, two blouses, a pair of running shoes and a pair of cute little Skecher’s Mary-Janey-looking comfy shoes. Also took back the watch I bought last night. It had a stretchy band that was way too big. Went to the gourmet supermarket to get espresso powder and then to the big Mexican grocery to get a bunch of stuff. More tortillas, of course. Also, some veggies and limes and cheese. Of course they didn’t have exactly the kind of cheese that I was looking for, but I decided to deal and just buy something similar. Oh, and frozen mamey pulp. Because they had it. Mamey is my very favorite flavor of ice cream. I’m thinking I’ll add this to yogurt and maybe to vanilla ice cream and see what it tastes like.
Now, for a nice nap. Then a walk. Then probably back to work. Arggggghhhhh. I’m thinking I’m going to go into work late tomorrow.

I have a roast cookin’ away in the slow cooker with some taters, carrots, onion, and a bay leaf. Should be good eats.
Other than assembling the above, today has been a rather lazy day. I also feel totally ripped off because of the time change. It should only be 1:50 dammit!
I should do something productive. FCM always makes me feel so guilty.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, Swampy. Hope it works out ok. My Dad had to take care of his uncle too, and it can be tough. Good thoughts going out to you and your family.
GT, glad to hear your weekend work is going better than mine. I logged on this morning to get it done right away… and the database was down. I checked in in the early afternoon… and they were working on it. I called them a little while ago and they’re working on it. Great. I need to get this stuff done by 9am tomorrow. And if they don’t get the database up soon, it’ll run into tonight’s update, which won’t be done until ~8 tomorrow. Which leaves me an hour to get stuff done that definitely takes more than an hour. Not good. Ugh. Off to call my boss to see what he thinks i should do. Ugh.
Home. Chillin’ - waiting for the last load to come out of the dryer. It was a good weekend, if way too short.

Today was such a lovely day. After watching Casino Royale with friends we had pizza and meandered back home. Now all I need to do is FINISH MY FREAKIN’ PAPER. AHHHHHHHHH.
Still waiting for work network to come back up. I’m starting to think I’m not going into work tonight. I might just catch the very first bus in in the morning to make sure that everything’s OK. Cuz I’m falling asleep. And if the network’s broken, it should be more that just me who has problems… And thank goodness, I don’t have anything due by 9:00 a.m.
And no sooner do I type that but it comes to life. And I have a message from a colleague asking if I’ve checked my stuff yet.
Need to take another nap, but I guess I’ll go into work for a few minutes instead. While you, of course, Hank, will work on your paper!

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts folks. I’m hopin’ it’s not as bad as it sounds but with mom having spent ten years bein’ caretaker for my dad who had Alzheimer’s, she’s pretty savvy about this stuff. I talked with sis a while ago and she’s glad I’ll be up to see what’s up with him. We have two older brothers but they’re useless with stuff like this. Not to disparage my bros, I do love 'em, but they just cannot deal with this. They couldn’t with dad, so it was sis and me (mostly sis cause she was right there) doing whatever we could to lighten the load for mom. Sis knows that Uncle Marty will listen to me before he listens to anybody else so that’s why she’s glad I’ll be up cause she feels like I’ll be able to talk with him and talk him into getting a check up and all that good stuff. Anywho, thanks again cool kids. Y’all are the bestest!
ETA: Good luck with the work stuff gt and Taxi. Stuff like that is just so grrrrrrrr…

And greetings from my mum’s back patio, where it’s currently 6:09 PM (thanks spats! and also currently about 75 or so I’d guess, winding down from the 86 degrees Amerkin it was when we landed. The flights were fine, all on time and uneventful. We got here, dropped clothes, headed to the pool, lay about a bit, had some dinner now we’re unwinding.
To catch the early AM flight, we all got up at Casa Bus this morning, at what was 2 AM current Tucson Standard Time. So, it’s going to be an early beddy bye time tonight I believe, then up for a long day in the sun tomorrow.
Did I mention that sun, warmth stuff that’s happening here?
So you’re wandering around nekkid? I got my Ethernet card in and working, now I don’t have sound. :smack: Another challenge for tomorrow.

I can imagine you’re great at dealing with situation like your uncle’s, swampy. Keep us updated on how things are going.

Made it into work and back in just over an hour. Everything looks fine and I was able to send out a couple of assignments while I was there. I’ve been dreading this weekend for a while, but it all ran quite smoothly. (Yay!)
Now I’m exhausted and trying to use a few sips of a beerverage in order to get sleepy.

I was awake, watching Good Eats at 1:30am - my intention was to watch the cable box go from 01:59 t0 03:00, but I dozed off and when I opened my eyes, it was after 3. <le sigh>
My computer resets itself automatically, and my alarm clock has a button to push (or unpush in the fall) so changing that was easy.
Another lazy day gone.
