Happy Birthday, Harvey!
Happy Kanga Day!!!
I could have crawled back into bed after the idiot dog woke me, but what would be the point? I’d just toss and turn anyway, so here I am instead. I was a slacker yesterday and didn’t do leaves, but I will do them today, since we might get rain tomorrow or Tues. And it’ll only take a couple of hours. I just don’t feel like messing with it. Oh well.
These may be the last mild days till spring - the 10 day forecast shows the cold hitting on Tuesday with the rain. Bummer. Tho it is almost December, so it’s supposed to be, um, brisk. Stoopit weather.
Happy Sunday all!
Thank you. I took over their meds in January. It’s funny how some things can be going on right beneath your nose, so to speak, and you don’t even realize it. Fortunately, they’re still pretty independent, but yeah, you’re right, it does hurt in so many ways.
You’re welcome,** phoukaroo**! I hope your birthday is grand. ![]()
Had a fun day yesterday and got home early this morning. Now I’ll have to make sure I stay awake in church. Fortunately if I sit there and text or play with my phone my grandparents don’t really realize what I’m doing.
Otherwise, on a normal Sunday if I was paying full attention to the pastor I’d have to stab myself in the eardrums with a fork! :dubious:
Happy Birthday, phouka!
My son is supposed to head back to school today. Unfortunately, before he can go, I have to go to the AT&T store to get him a new phone. He apparently lost his yesterday at a friend’s house. He knows he used it around 9:00 am yesterday, and they tore the house apart looking for it, but they couldn’t find it. So, lucky me, I get to spend money I wasn’t planning on spending.
I have some errands to run after that and when I come home from running the errands, I’ll need to pack so I’m ready to go tomorrow. The airport shuttle is picking me up at 4:30 tomorrow morning.
I’ve enjoyed having my son here, but he’s raring to go back “home” to his friends. Yup, he’s already decided that this isn’t home anymore. He doesn’t like the weather, and of course, because he’s under 21, there isn’t anything to do.
Hmm, maybe I’ll talk to him about taking my bonus room back.
I need to finish caffeination and start prepping for my day.
Good morning, all!
Happy birthday, phouka!
Hope you have a marvelous day. Welcome to you fabulous forties!
Need to get a few things done and perhaps do a teeny bit of in-person shopping. I think, and maybe do some clean-up in the garden. Woo hoo!
Happy Sunday, all.

Happy happy birthday phouka!
We are headed home today after a glorious 4 day weekend. Ready to battle the return traffic then it is off to Houston this week. On the plus side I only have 2 1/2 weeks until vacation when I get to go home to the UK and see my folks and friends and god-babies whoohoo! Enjoy Sunday peoples
Been really busy…
But HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHOUKA!
Thank you, guys! You make my (birth)day!
Something about officially hitting 40 . . . I’ve started moisturizing my eyelids. I went to the gym yesterday and am about to go again today. I even found my nail kit and did everything short of polishing my nails. I guess it finally occurred to me today that there are no roving bands of manicurists, and that if I don’t take care of myself, no one else is going to. Hmmm.
The plan today is Starbucks, gym, and family outing to the beach. We’ll see how much of that is happening.
Love you guys!
Taters, maybe I’m a meanie, but if my kid lost her phone, the replacement would be the cheapest, most basic phone there is. Yeah, I’m a meanie.
Just finished doing the leaves. I’m getting better at not over-filling the sucker/vac. I figure maybe one more time this year and I’ll be done. Most of the leaves are down.
So I’s tahred. I’m thinking there’s got to be something on Netflix that I can knit to…
Taters, I’m even meamer than Mom, I’d make him buy his own %^& phone or do without until his friend finds his current phone. Did they even try calling his number to follow the sound of the ringing? Kids these days. Harumph!
In other news: Happy Birthday, Phouka!!! from the West coast, where we’re behind the times.
Friday i oedered a bunch of parts to re-build my business computer into something that doesn’t resemble a zombiputer, (it shambles along). Well, yesterday I decided to just get a new case for all those parts, so I’ll just be re-using the hard drives and peripherals. See, one of the things I don’t like about this computer, besides it’s being so painfully slow, is having to crawl around on the floor to plug/unplug USB gadgetry. So I’m going to order something small enough to actually sit on a desktop.
Anyway, yesterday I selected a bunch of candidates from Newegg, and today I’m going to go through them and pick one out to order. No, I don’t want another flipping laptop. I have sucky luck with laptops. I think we’ve gone through 7 or 8 laptops since I bought the desktop i’m planning to update.
Now I have to get off of here so Wifey can do some real estate stuff, or something. I suppose I could power up my old desktop to do my research, but I want to get done in less than 8 hours. :dubious:
Well the problem with trying to call his phone is that it’s on silent. He does this mainly because of being in class, but still.
Anyway, he got a sixty dollar phone. If I had wanted to start a new two year contract I could have gotten a cheaper one, but his contract expires next September and he’s going to get off our plan then. Which is good, because I’m tired of paying for everyone’s damn cell phone.
And…normally, he’d buy his own damn phone, but he’s not working at the moment and what money he does have in his account is for school and living over there.
Happy Birthday phouka!
More knitting today. I’m almost finished with my red Harmonia’s Rings Cowl. I finished the beads last night, so the rest should go quickly.
I baked brownies - the house smells yum!!
Now I just need to decide what we’re doing for supper. Grilled cheese sounds good!
Home. Tahrd. Read but mostly did not retain.
Taters ya shoulda tied the new phone to your son’s wrist so he won’t lose it again.
Have a safe trip!
I’m glad to see the place is pretty much in one piece.
And now this…

^woah. Impressed.
Turkey soup doing its thing on the stove top.
Turkey casserole on its way.
oops - I just remembered I volunteered to start us off tomorrow. So don’t nobody try to start something tonight or I’ll… I’ll… Well, you don’t want to know what I might do.
See ya’s in the morning!!

You’ll be on  The List!
I’ve been meaning to check to see who had volunteered for tomorrow. Glad you remembered, FCM.
I’m also for buying the minimum phone possible…which it looks like you did, so yay! (I managed to stupidly lose my own phone last year and lived with a crappy phone until I inherited my brother’s spare iPhone a couple weeks ago.)
Very pretty. You’re so talented!
I baked an apple pie with streusel topping to use up the second frozen pie shell. It was yummy. Had some filling left over which will go into oatmeal the next couple days.
Need to get some laundry done…
Hugs all.

Guess what I’m not doing right now???
Yes, that’s right HOMEWORK!!!
Honest to God this stuff is going to drive me crazy(er). Please tell me how I’m supposed to write about and analyze a lesson plan that I observed when I was at a school where everything was computerized instruction. (Teachers don’t teach, everyone sits at their own computer all school day long.) The solution was supposed to be that I wrote about a lesson that I’d observed at a different school that I was also at this semester. But guess what? Things move at a very slow pace at that school and I never observed one entire lesson the entire time that I was there!
I realize that I might not be making sense right now…
TLDR: Homework sucks and can’t be over soon enough.
My son left around two this afternoon to head back to school. Assuming they don’t really make any long stops, they should get back to Pullman around 8:00 this evening.
For some odd reason, I’m taking this departure of my son a little harder than when we initially dropped him off last summer. It’s kind of silly, especially considering that he’ll be back in three weeks for Christmas break. After that, I probably won’t see him until May and maybe not even then if he gets one of the internships he’s interested in.
I’m just about packed for my trip to San Diego. All that I have left to pack are my toiletries and one more pair of shoes. I still have no desire to go on this trip. I’d rather just stay home.
