Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 76 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Nice! Today I shall head over to the church house around elevenish to do a buncha cookin’ etc for tonight’s shindig. This will be a long, but fun day.
flytrap, what CupCakes said re TEC. We broke from the CofE over the whole swearin’ allegiance to the Monarch thing. When one fight’s an entire war against said Monarch, one does not wish to swear allegiance. That would just be tacky!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I should also purtify. I could take care of a few chores around da cave this mornin’ but don’t hold your collective breaths waitin’ for me to do so.
This is Sattiday, isn’t it? Because yesterday had the feel of a Sattiday, but it was actually Firday (I think).
Not much on the schedule, the house requires a good going-over with the Hoover, and tomorrow I’ll take a short road trip for provisions, but otherwise I’ll keep myself entertained with the basketball tournament.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s 47, rainiy, and we have been under continuous assault by the Invisible Mole People since 0800. On the bright side, I’m off this weekend, and there;s hockey tonight.
I’ve got rubbed ribs sitting on the counter and the smoker is warming up. Once it comes to temp, the ribs go in and smokeage begins! I’ll start the corned beef around 1 or so.
**FCD **just left for Lowe’s - the drill bit he bought last night is too small, so he’s got to get a bigger one. I need to do a little trench digging. It’s overcast and ick out, but at least it’s not windy or rainy, so there’s that. Stoopit weather.
I’m happy to report that I only stayed up until 4am this morning. And Baby Rio let me sleep a whole 4 hours. So all in all a good night. Now we just have to figure out what we’re doing for breakfast.
Smokeage has begun. The wire has been pulled from the garage to the shed, and it’s buried in the trench. We’re taking a break before going back to work.
Sun is out, so there’s that. And my mom is officially on FB. Who’d’a thunk it?!?!?
I made an executive decision - we had ribs for supper. They smelled soooooooo good, and they were. Plus I have 3 more rib meals in the freezer. So corned beef and cabbage will be tomorrow’s supper.

although the day is over, I can’t believe it is almost 10pm.
Been a busy day, started with not sleeping all night, then falling asleep in the morning, to oversleeping and having to rush to get ready to take the kid to the college for his test.
Stopping at sonic and taco hell for lunch, then I needed a nap.
Spent this evening proof reading papers for him, all have been turned in, but one that I said really needs some more work. So he is miffed but hey, you want me to proof read I am going to tell you what I think, not what you want to hear. He rushed through it and it shows.
Our mini con went swimmingly well. What began last year as a free event with ~250 in attendance became a paid event that sold out at the venue’s capacity of 500. We had good workshops, speakers, music and food on a lovely campus, so it was a good day overall.
One of the guys from the Freethought group I belong to invited me out to his shooting range to target shoot and said he’d teach me to shoot skeet without the shotgun kicking my butt.
I was a slug today. Slept a great deal which I needed I guess. Tomorrow I have plans to clean do laundry and maybe even cook. Got to prepare for Moanday. Shuddering at the thought.
Big, fluffy flakes - that kind that usually don’t last long. Forecast accumulation is less than an inch, then changing to rain. We shall see. I’m glad we got the outside work done yesterday when we actually had some sun. It’s supposed to be upper 50s tomorrow and lower 60s on Tuesday, but just 40s today. Very bizarro weather.
I’ve had 2 good nights of sleep in a row, so yay! I really needed it. And I got up at 6, so I should be properly tired at bedtime and I won’t mess up sleep cycle too much. Today will be busy - I’ve got a dozen eggs boiling at the moment, there’s probably 5 loads of laundry to be done, the dishwasher needs to be emptied, and I’m thinking I’ll do the corned beef in the crock pot, so I’ll need to start it soon.
