Around here they are saying 3-5 inches ----------- over 30 hours. Heck, I call that light flurries; more broom than shovel. Wusses. :smack:
Being older I prefer something more general and classical.
Irk was fine; I was in and out doing trailer inspections and stuff. Gloomy but not horrible.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Hockey after work.
I had a terrible night. I kept hearing stuff hitting the side of the house. I’m pretty sure it was just big-ass raindrops, altho it was sleet earlier in the night. At any rate, I was awakened at least 3 times, so I’m in zombie mode. <yawn>
My ride in was unpleasant in that the rain was coming down pretty hard, and the road was very reflective with all the wet, so seeing lane lines was tough. Fortunately, there wasn’t a lot of traffic and I was able to putter along at 50-55 MPH with only one impatient idiot passing me. For the record, the speed limit along that stretch of road is in the 40-50 MPH band, depending upon where you are, so it’s not like I was doing 30 or anything.
**FCD **is home again today, but I have no idea what he’ll be doing. It’s going to rain all day, so I don’t think he’ll be doing any work in his new shed/garage. He’ll probably just compile a list of stuff he needs to set it up as a paint booth. He’s also going to start supper for us. I pulled a meatloaf out of the freezer. He’ll get it out to finish thawing, then he’ll start baking it. The last couple of times we had meatloaf, I had to finish it in the microwave because of thawing/timing issues. With luck, we won’t deal with that today.
Meanwhile, my desk is covered with all kinds of drawings and my boss sent me an email with 5 more to be done. I love busy!
Happy Tuesday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 56 and mostly cloudy for the day. Winter is endin’ with a cool snap in south Jawja. Sattidy is our St. Patrick’s Feast Day over to the church house and it’s supposed to be N.O.S. and low 70s which would be nice. Today’s plan includes at least a start of cave cleanin’ and not much else especially since dindin will be leftover beast stew.
{{{CupCakes and Nathan}}}. Here’s hopin’ the little feller is doin’ much better today. ::skritches::
gotti LTNS! Congrats on the new digs!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, well, cave spiffin’ awaits. Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Gotti good to hear from you. Fingers and toes crossed on the new home purchase going smoothly.
I picked up some intestinal upset somewhere. Spent the night running to the loo. Going to get the girl child off to school then it’s back to bed. Whee. Stomach is still hurting, so I think it’s a water and crackers day for me. Maybe just water.
How is snow-ma-ged-a-pocalypse shaping up? Can you still see the tops of any buildings over the snow?
We used to do that kind of stuff when we drove long distances . . . takes me back to the days of going over to AAA, and getting TripTiks and guide books. Am I dating myself be mentioning that stuff? Now, of course, it’s all done online.
Darn! Up, awake and here too soon for the top of page two.
Today sucks, and it sucks hard. I woke up at 2:30 this morning to a serious blanket of snow, chills, and body aches. I didn’t get back to sleep until at least 5, but forgot to turn my alarm off. So I’m tired and feel like shit. At least the governor had the good sense to close the offices yesterday so I can be miserable on the state’s time, not my own. We’re getting seriously hammered, so it’s possible, if not likely, that we’ll be home tomorrow, too.
No one has had the least bit of enthusiasm about making French toast, even if we have all the fixin’s.
{{{{{Baker and Nathan}}}} Hopefully, all goes well at the vet.
LUNCH!!!
It’s been a really busy morning, and I’ve still got lots to do. The day is zipping by.
C’mon, Firday!!!
Hugs and white light and prayers for Nathan. Nothing makes you scareder than an ani-pal in pain.
{{Rockin’}} Heck of a way to get a day off. Get an afternoon nap if you can.
gotti, good to hear from you, hope the house buy goes well.
Bowser, I’m still a AAA member, but don’t get the travel books much anymore (they were still available as of 3 years ago).
{{Sunny}} but at a distance, I’ve been lucky and not picked up any bugs this winter to date. Take care of yourself.
Back from Dentist, teeth scraped and polished and got my usual lecture on flossing (I’ve lived 64 years without flossing, I’m unlikely to take up the habit now). Walgreens said my insurance rejected my refill prescription, need to check with BC/BS on what’s going on. And it’s 378F and clould…again. Better than snow, but still a down day.
All y’all take care.
378F??? Dang, MetalMouse!!
Today is Pi Day, and our local Domino’s is offering a medium pizza with 1 topping for $3.14. Only available after 3:14pm. Even if it’s not the greatest pizza, it’s worth the price. Guess what I’m having for din-din???
It’s been a few years, but I thought Domino’s pizza had gotten better the last time I had it. At the time, I preferred it over Pizza Hut, and if there was one closer to us, I’d have it more often.
Unfortunately, we’re outside the delivery zone of the closest location, and I’m not going to drive 9 miles one way for pizza, regardless of how much I may like it. Even at $3.14, I’m not going to venture out in this cold, rainy ick for pizza.
We’re having meatloaf tonight.
Our local supermarket bakery had pies on sale for $3.14. I got a Dutch apple. We have cheese, but no ice cream.
It’s almost lunchtime. What do I want to eat?
Kroger advertised pies at Pi 3.14. I wonder how many of their clientele got it.
Had a bit of a shock this morning. Picked up my coffee cup from the side of the sink to fill it with coffee and there was a wasp clinging to the side of it! How the hell did it get in our kitchen? I had a distressing experience with a bunch of wasps last year and was not amused. Wasp was summarily dispatched to the hell from which it sprang.
I’ve been wondering if any stores locally made chicken pot pies. I know I could make my own, but that’s one thing I’ve never made and I’d rather someone else make it. Costco sells a YUGE[sup]tm[/sup] chicken pot pie, but they’re a 45 min drive each way. On the other hand, there’s a domino’s about 3 blocks from our house. Hmmm. I could get a pepperoni and put pineapple all over it.
Our local Fred Meyers store was bought by Kroger when Fred died so I checked my e-mail (yes, they e-mail me) and they have pies for $3.14. Think I’ll stop in there during my errands today.
All you folks in snow country be safe out there, ya’hear?
Howdy Y’all! I’ve been both busy and lazy today. I spiffed da cave, went to the Pubic Sto’ for a 3.14 apple pie, and achieved nappage. All in all a pretty good day.
{{{Sunny}}} feel better soonest.
