I have Nathan home now. Although the vet thinks he may have a very slight disc issue, he thinks now the main problem causing the pain was extreme constipation. They got Nathan emptied out with enemas, and for a week or so I have to feed him a special food and add a child’s dose of stool softener. He was perkier when he was brought out to me, but still was slow going up the stairs to the apartment. I’m going out to buy his meds and will go by PetSmart to buy those steps for getting up on a bed or couch.
Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes. I really am sure they can help. I’m so relieved that it was something the vet could take care of in the office.
**FCD **started the meatloaf for supper, and I’ll finish with the sides shortly. We’ll dine early, then run to Lowe’s for some stuff he needs for the shed.
It was snowy and freezy and wet when I left Tourist Trap. I crossed the county line and the sun came out. No snow down here in God’s Waiting Room yet. Probably won’t get any.
Dindin and pi have been ingested. I suppose 3.14 is not a bad price for an apple pie, however, it was not great pi. The one thing I don’t like about the Pubic Sto’ is the bakery. Just not good IMO.
CupCakes glad Nathan is home and doin’ better. ::skritches::
**Spiderman, **Canada and the Czech Republic are both nice.
I don’t know if I’ll go away on vacation this year. Still looking for a day job (not sure if they’ll allow me to go on vacation,) though I’ve been keeping busy. There’s always the possibility of going on a short trip to Ottawa or Toronto.
I went on a day trip to Toronto from Montreal once, though that was silly as it takes a while to get there.
Nathan is a long hair, he’s black, brown, and has some salt and pepper patches, king od silver. He has brown eyes, but the distinguishing feature is that the bottom half of his left eye is blue. The vet says iit’s natural, and not a defect. Some people see it and think he has a cataract, but he doesn’t.
I bought the doggie steps, but he doesn’t seem to want to use them yet. I tried to get him on the bed with them, but he wouldn’t cooperate. I may put it by the recliner, it’s a little lower and that’s where he wants to be now.
I can’t tell you all how much the sympathetic comments mean. I’m going to keep a sharp eye on him, monitoring his health.
Tomato soup for lunch, pizza for dinner. None of us are up to cooking and the local pizza joint is open. I’m hungry, but not really up to eating, so a slice of pizza is probably the best option given what’s open, which probably isn’t much.
The sprog has a two-hour delay tomorrow, which may be meaningless if he doesn’t feel well in the morning. I have no idea what I’m going to do as far as work goes; I’ll have to see how I feel. Being sick sucks.
bumba, chicken pie is easy. Two cups of diced chicken, four cups of veggies, broth and some cornstarch to thicken. Put it in a 9"X13" pan and top with a batch of biscuit dough and bake at 350F until the biscuit top is golden. It was a staple when I was growing up and one of the first things I learned to make.
I’m glad that Nathan is feeling better, baker.
Our new guy is training with me tomorrow. He appears to be pretty bright. While he won’t be doing the same accounts as I do, a lot of the process is the same.
Tomorrow should be a shitstorm for traffic in Nashville. The cheeto in chief is showing up about the time school lets out. :smack: That limits school buses and public transportation as well as parking downtown. I got two of the free tickets, but like a number of others, those seats will remain empty for the cameras.
We shall retire unto the boudoir shortly to watch teevee until sleepy time. Temps may get near freezin’ tonight! Winter is givin’ us one last YOOHOO.
We have snow but the roads and sidewalks are clear. I think it is still snowing.
I rescheduled the cable for Moonday. I don’t know if they would come out in the snow anyway but rather than wonder about it, I just rescheduled.
My computer is giving me grief, I am not happy. Firefox updated and now it won’t run, at all. I tried fixing it but it’s still not working, so I am stuck with Chrome. I HATE Chrome!
Yesterday was irritating, lack of sleep didn’t help. Today I took a deep breath, tried again to fix firefox, gave up, and am slowly adjusting to chrome. Firefox knew all my passwords, everything was so easy.
Congrats Gotti
Glad your pup is home Baker
The only pie here is what I bought last week and it was horrible, which is why it is still here or it would have been eaten already. It is like eating pure sugar, YUK!
I’m home from work and dinner is finished. That’s right -------- home that soon. It seems like the entire Jungle Network decided to avoid the rush and go straight to
PANIC!!!
so of course what we got in snow was about a good dusting. If it was on a donut I would send it back to be dusted again. East of us got hammered OK; some cousins in the Wyoming Valley got 2 feet of snow. But around here pretty much nada.
I’ve been to both before; the CA trip would be not far from you.
Iffn you get one, tell 'em you have a vacation already scheduled (before you start); that way you can do something iffn you want, or cxl it later.
6 hr drive; back when you still had the 'spos, did a Fri night game there & a Satur day game in Toronto, & then on to Niagara Falls after that. 1500 miles in three days.
I took the train to Toronto and back for my day trip. It’s “only” 4 and a half hours by train. Still kind of a silly idea, and probably not something I’d do again. A weekend or week trip would be better.
Cupcakes glad Nathan’s feeling better. Did the vet mention if adding anything like glucosamine would be good? I give that to my big guys to help with their joints.
Having mashed N.O.T. and chikkin for dinner. I will investigate this homemade pot pie idea another time. It sounds yum.
