I wouldn’t know.
Growing up seems like such a good idea when you are young and stupid.
Then you get old and smart and realize growing up isn’t all that much fun.
Morning irk shift is over, time to find something to eat.
Sah-son found a dead mouse in his lawn mowing shoes. Guess that is better than finding a dead mouse in his other shoes or finding a nest with baby mice in his shoes.
I find my memories of those times are actually better that my memories of more recent years when nothing interesting happened. It’s easy to forget how long ago you last changed the air-conditioning filter, but you never forget that time your roommate was so high she became convinced she could totally float in two inches of kiddie-pool water if she just took all her clothes off.
(FWIW, we stopped her from doing that–mostly because there weren’t enough people around for it to be really embarrassing later.)
What a boring day.
I’ve irked and did a special assignment for irk.
The neighbor is doing the pet sitting.
I should be doing laundry and cleaning up around here but I really want is a nap.
Home to an empty-ish house. No idea where **FCD **is. Out buying me a present, no doubt!
Long day, and again I’m glad I’m just a temp. They couldn’t pay me enough to do this job full time. Glad it’s the weekend - I need to chill.
Oh, I saw him at Belle Watley’s, not ten…

Howdy Y’all! Irk is over! Da Bear is in da cave! Some beerverages are gettin’ extra super cold in the freezer. It’s the weeeeeeeeeekennnnnnnnnnnnd!!!
I took two steaks outta da freezer last night and put ‘em in to marinade this mornin’ before leavin’ to meet OYKW for brekkie. I called Publix aka the Pubic Sto’ and ordered two and a half pounds of cajun steamed shrimpies. I also picked up sallit fixin’s. OYKW’s gonna man the grill and cook steaks while I make up a sallit and make up some cheddar cheese bizkits. Then it’s feast time!
I really like the fact that y’all stopped her for the right reason.
I killded the MMP!
I’s a stuffded a bear. Dindin was teh nummiest. So are the beeverages.
Took a nap, too long of a nap and got a nasty notice from irk that I am late to login.
I hate those nasty notices.
Good thing Sah-son woke me up to tell me I have mail or I’d still be sleeping.
I don’t know why he told me I have mail though, and it’s junk mail at that.
Swampy what time is dinner?
Sorry you don’t like the job much FCM. Of course because you don’t when your time is up they will offer you a permanent position.
I’ve got a sore throat and a headache, maybe I’m sleeping so much because I need it.
You probably do, since it sounds like you’re sick. You’ve mentioned rodent problems, and from what you’ve said (and please don’t be annoyed if I’m misreading) you apparently live with at least one hoarder, so heaven only knows what else is infesting your space (I’m thinking dust, mold, etc., but you could have insects or worse).
I would definitely think you should move out ASAP, but you’re already working on that, which is probably a good health move for you and your son.
I agree with your take on FCM’s work situation.
In other news, blurf. Nothing exciting going on, I’m fighting off the current local plague.
They can offer all they want - I don’t intend to stay on. The commute is too long, the facilities are filthy, and I just don’t want a full-time gig.
We had Chinese for supper -it was mediocre. I’m in the knit position already- posting via tablet.
Time to knit!
Not only is it the weekend, but it is THE weekend. Yes, the weekend when the project we’ve been working on for two years finally moves to production. Yay!
There’s lots going on over the weekend, but I don’t have to do anything unless something goes wrong. And then I only need to make decisions (presumably), so I don’t even have to go in to work. I already instructed the people who have the ickiest part of the move to call me when it’s done. Everything else is fixable as we move forward. Yay!
Yes, this is me starting to do a very tentative happy dance. (There are about ten days’ worth of changes before we know everything is working like it’s supposed to.)
Have celebrated with ice cream and sangria.
Read, but retained almost nothing.
Back tomorrow with something of substance.
Hugs all.

I have had the most ummm… innerestin’ exchange of emails with YP this evenin’. Before I get into the actual exchange, I should point out an earlier fb post by YP about Monday bein’ “Buy The Priest A Beer Day” with a link that briefly states that Monday is the day Catholics the world over buy their Priest a beer. I replied to his post and pointed out that Monday is buy the CATHOLIC Priest a beer day and he should get back to us when it’s Anglican/Episcopal buy the Priest a beer day and no he CANNOT just make it up he must furnish proof. Anywho…it started out with the weekly “This Week At St. Patrick’s” email which appears every Firday evenin’. I opened it up and it was blank. So I replied, “Ummmm… the email is blank. I guess this means nuttin’ is happenin’ this week. :D” He replied, “Well damn if it’s not. Just another glitch in the rotten day I’ve had.” I replied, “DANG! Now I feel bad about what I said on fb. I should buy you a beer.” He replied, “Well, Monday is men’s night… the perfect time to buy the Priest a beer!” I replied, “Actually, Monday is the second Monday which is Vestry Meeting. I’m not a Vestry member now but it would be kinda fun to get you drunk then send you into a Vestry meeting.” He replied, “Beer at a Vestry meeting would make things go a lot smoother.” I replied, “It ain’t like they couldn’t go into the Parish kitchen, open the fridge and NOT find one.” He replied, “HAHAHAHAHA!” I replied, “You can tell when you’re in an Episcopal Church kitchen when you can find at least three corkscrews, three “church keys” but you can’t find a can opener.” He replied, "Now you’re just trying to get yourself called up for “Extra Special Secret Confession.” I replied, “You keep promising me but you never do.” He replied, “That’s only because I know it wouldn’t do any good.” I replied, “Ya know, I consider “smartass” to be a good quality in a Priest.” He replied, “Good thing I’m your Priest then.” I replied, “You win!” He replied, “Actually we both win. I’ve been reading our emails out to Allison (his wife) and she is literally on the floor in hysterics.” I replied, “Maybe I should buy her a beer then.” He replied, “She said a bourbon on the rocks would be better.”
So, what y’all been up to?
No offense taken Nettie
I hate living here. I’m not the world’s best housekeeper and even I hate the mess around here.
This house is not big enough for all the people here and 4 dogs.
It’s harder to get rid of mice and bugs when there is too much clutter, it gives them more places to hide. We have never had mice like this before, sometimes one in the fall and that is it. This has been going on too long.
I know the stress gets to me too.
Even now with the HFH gone I am still dealing with her dogs and my mother has a tendency to let them out and then go off to do whatever she does and I have to deal with the hounds from hell. The bitch dog is afraid of me, I’ve never done anything to her except yell at her for going after my dog and I’ve stared her down when she growls at me. She won’t listen to me when I tell her to go to bed so I can let my dog out. She just lays there growling.
The insanity of expecting peope to deal with a nasty dog just boggles my mind. Now at least my mother is seeing the little bitch for what she is and now she is getting tired of it too - not that it will make a difference when the HFH gets back.
I was supposed to close on the house today so I know part of it is feeling down. I had plans and now they are for nothing. I’m regrouping and thinking of my next move. I doubt I can last another 6 months in this house without going nuts.
I’m looking into renting
but one thing at a time.
:throws confetti for GT:
I’ve spent the evening talking to RT and that was about it. Tomorrow I have to get to work to prepare for the big show next weekend, though.
My good news for the night is that I went to Verizon and the guy said that they would cover my phone under warranty (and that the questionable scratch/crack just looks like a scratch to him) so I won’t have to pay the $100 deductible. Yay!!! Oh, and they don’t make my model of phone anymore so I’m getting a newer phone, a Droid DNA. So that all worked out better than I could have possibly imagined. On that note I should probably head to bed.
YAY for GT
Swampy I think it is never boring where you are
Sticky I buy my phones at BestBuy now instead of from AT&T. Their service plan is better and when there has been a problem I’ve gotten a new phone with no problems and if the one I have isn’t available they go one step up.
Fortunately a new charger and battery fixed my most recent problem.
I’m hungry, time to look for some dinner.
I’m not impressed with the whole adulthood thing, either.
Congrats, gt!
Happy Saturday
It’s a clear cool 54 degrees outside.
Good sleeping weather.
Besides irk, laundry and one cat to feed nothing else is scheduled for today. I may go to lunch with a friend, I need to get out. Kind of depends on how my head and throat feel.
I did not intend to be up this early on Saturday. Alas, last night, when *someone *put the dog into her crate, *someone *neglected to affix the lock. So a certain puglet was able to let herself out this morning shortly before 5. Thankfully, she just sat in the hallway whining and sorta barking till I noticed the barking was way too close to be from the crate, and I got up. Even more thankfully, she was barking to be let out - she didn’t pee in the house. Still, I had to get up. ugh.
Pup has been feed, cat box has been cleaned, and if I thought the idiot dog would just curl up and snooze with us, I’d take her back to bed with me. But she’s all rested, so she wants to play and rassle. rah.
Today is the Harley group’s ride to Fredburg to The Bavarian Chef for lunch. I’ll be driving. It’s 50 miles from our house - no way I’m going 100 miles in the bitch seat! But I’ll drive the Sonata for a nice lunch in a new place. Other than that, no plans. My only plan was to sleep in a bit, and we all see how that worked out.
Happy Saturday anyway!
