Errands run, to the extent we could (Costco was closed today). Intermittent rain, which had me very happy about those nice new tires with nice deep tread (reminds me, must do rebate paperwork). Another new kibble has been tried on the Princess, who seemed quite pleased with it (she seemed to be trying to open the bag for herself before I got it poured into the dispenser).
My sister’s cat has to have a daily pill for a heart condition. Thankfully, he’s usually pretty good about it.

I finished making a shawl. Now I’m going to bed, since I have to get up at 5. I don’t need to be at work till 8 for orientation, but I’m still getting up early.

I was born on Labor Day. Really more my mom’s story than mine but apparently I was a difficult labor and so she found the name of the day very appropriate.
I still haven’t decided what I want to be when I grow up but I am now closer to retirement age than to high school so I’d better decide soon.

I once had a teacher who, before Labour Day weekend, said to the class, “Have a happy Labour Day weekend. I hope none of you go into labour over the weekend.”
As for my work, I have a job at a community centre in a nice neighbourhood of my city. I do all sorts of different things at my job, so it’s a bit difficult to describe. I wish I could be a musician - although I do get to play music at my job sometimes.
I labored on Labor Day.

Sah-dog is suspicious of anything I try to hand feed him. He will sniff it and look at me and sniff some more.
I had been giving him benedryl a while back, or at least I thought I was until I picked up his blanket and found a stash of pink pills under it.
Between the skin problems, eye problems, ear problems and shar pei fever he has been one expensive free dog.
I like the breed but I’ll never get another one.

I went to bed relatively early so I’d be fresh for my first day on the new job. Naturally, I woke up at 2:30 and was unable to get back to sleep. :rolleyes: So I’ve had breakfast and I’m caffeinating right now. I’ve got about an hour to kill before I have to pack my lunch and get ready to go. Normally, I’ll be leaving about now, but today, I’m to report at 8, so I have time to kill.
I’m not nervous about the job - at least I don’t think I am. It’s just a drafter position, so I’ll be making purdy pictures of other peoples’ ideas - easy peasy! I think because I really didn’t do anything yesterday and I went to bed so early, I just wasn’t tired in the wee dark hours. I’m sure it’ll all settle down once I have a routine.

I was going to go downtown today, but I think I’ll stay here at home and work on various projects instead. I have the day off, and am going back to work tomorrow.

Irish Storyteller and I went to the Cheap Movie Place That Also Serves Pizza and saw *Pacific Rim *last night. We both liked it. It’s a good dumb action movie if that’s what you’re looking for. My only complaint is that the movie was too damn loud. I didn’t really notice it except when the monsters screamed at piercing levels. In other news, those damn kids won’t get off of my lawn.
And it’s thunderboomin’ now. Really, weather? Really?

I forgot yesterday was Monday. I don’t know if I even turned on my computer all weekend. It was kind of wonderful. I sat around with the dog and watched movies and went to the park and made a shawl and took naps. And now I’m back at work.

It’s 76 degrees out with a projected high of 84. I haven’t stepped out yet so I don’t know what it feels like. It looks breezy though.
I have to start getting ready to go get dog food and take Sah-son for a hair cut.
