Sah-dog is feeling better. He’s up, moving around, eating and I got some aspirin in him.
He’s afraid to go down the deck steps so it took a bit of doing to get him out in the yard.
Dog food has been bought, Sah-son hair has been cut, we had TacoHell for lunch.
.
Now off to figure out what is wrong with my call log from yesterday.
Irk is exceedingly irksome today, and it won’t get better for a while. Today is Day #1 of an indeterminately long construction project, and it’s Demolition Day. I’m about as close as a frawg hair to irking from home. Wife and dogs would be less annoying.
Back to “work” today, and still nothing to do. When I was young, I said I wanted to be a cat photographer.
My previous job was copy editor of a black newspaper. I wrote all of the headlines. I’m white.
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk, which acted like Monday all day long. ICK! Oh well, I lived through it so there’s that. I have a chikin burrito casserole thingy in the oven I need to check on shortly. I shredded up the remains of the smoked chikin from Sattidy, sauteed some onions and peppers (both finely chopped), rolled it all up in flour tortillas with shredded cheese, sprinkled more cheese on top and have it heatin’ up. I have shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, taco sauce and yumyum sauce to put on top of the chikin burrito casserole thingy. Smells good so here’s hopin’ it is good.
Finally got the new charger and battery for my phone. I plugged in the new charger while I was talking on the phone and in no time I was up to 100% charged.
I’m debating putting the new battery in just because I have it.
So I can do the happy dance over that.
I need to get something to at since I start irk in 15 minutes but instead I’m sitting here on my ass not doing a damn thing.
Don’t feel like doing anything.
So I took a nap, now I’m hungry.
Home after work and dinner at Salsa’s. Whew, what a first day!
The orientation part was boring, but at least I didn’t have to sit thru the benefits section, since I don’t get none! But I didn’t know exactly where I was supposed to go, nor did the folks where I did orientation. It took a few phone calls, but I got a point of contact (my boss’ boss, Sue, since my boss was off today) and I was on my way.
I stopped at the college to call Sue, but I didn’t have any signal, so I drove a bit farther and tried again. I got voicemail for someone named Eve. So I dialed again and got the same voicemail. I figured someone gave me the wrong number and I’d just ask at the gate. But Sue called back - it was her number, but it was new to her and she hadn’t changed the VM. So she came and met me at the gate, which was a good thing - the base isn’t that big but the road was long and twisty.
LOTS of folks had taken an extra long weekend - many of whom were needed to get me set up. So instead, Sue took me around to meet a bunch of folks who I promptly forgot, then I did a bunch of filing since I couldn’t get on the computer network yet. I talked to the woman who would actually be giving me assignments, trying to get a feel for what would go on, and then I left. With traffic, the commute home took a freekin hour!!!
When I got home, **FCD **suggested we go out to eat (YAY) so we went to Salsa’s. Now I’m home and about to assume the knit position. I’s tahred, but I think I’m going to like this job. So that’s my day.
I do have one bit of excitatement. When I got to irk this mornin’ I got told that no tie time would be extended through the end of next week. So I offed the tie and shall not decorate my neck until Sept. 16th.
Financial issues have kept me occupied. I hate being the sole breadwinner. I am looking forward yo when the husband graduates and starts his career as a pharmacist
