A Listful MMP

How’s this? I believe this is in PG county.

I’m back. Actually back for the second time today. My stoopit meeting lasted till almost 4, so it was almost 4:30 before I got home. I fed the critters, then sat to read the MMP till **FCD ** got home a little later. We went to Damon’s for a couple of combo platters. Now we’re home, warming up - it’s miserable out there.

Tomorrow, we’re driving into Fredericksburg in the morning. A guy from my work has a small boat trailer for sale for cheap. As long as it’s towable, we’ll probably take it - for the kid’s Laser. And this is the weekend when we’ll take down the mirrored tiles. Some people at work have asked about them (I posted an ad) so with luck, I’ll get rid of some or all of them. <fingers crossed>

That’s pretty much it. TGIF.

I’ll echo an earlier question - who’s up for Monday?? …Monday?? …Monday??

Pffffft - goat and squid are sooooooooo last week. You know that the Cool Kids are above such shenanigans. The only requirement here are my chocolate love offerings (to me, not *from * me)

So, welcome, Duckster, to the land of the Cool Kids! Remember to check the cleaning schedule so you know what day to wear your hip waders.

Oh, right, I forgot to mention I’m new to the MMP. I have the honor of being Alistair’s brother. If you want embarrassing stories about him, just say the word.

"The Word!"

Welcome Manduck! How’s that for a nickname? And you’re Cellodude’s bro to boot. That makes it extra special.

Yay for Melli becomin’ a member!

Rebo prayers and good thoughts headed out to J from south Jawja. What happened to you with the freezer once sorta happened to me. This was at my old house where I had a freezer in a storage building. A breaker tripped and I didn’t notice it. I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t been in the garage where the electricial panel was and noticed that one of the breaker’s was red. Fortunately it couldn’t have happend more than a couple of hours before I saw the tripped breaker, so no spoilage had occured in the freezer. Now, I check the circuit breakers daily just to make sure. Yeah, I do get kinda anal about some stuff.

My laptop came with a free upgrade for Windows Vistas, which came this week while I was gone. So, I had a fun about three hours updating it. I was gonna post from it sayin’ look at me postin’ from my Vistas upgraded laptop, but when it was all said and done I was just sick of the dang thing for the day, so I logged off, and put it back in it’s little case. That was sooooooo booooooooring!

Mindude I hear ya bout the dialup. Doggio mom uses her puter to check email (maybe once or twice a week) and occasionally to go out and look up recipes. She does not feel the need to have anything but dialup. If that’s all she’s gonna do, then I see her point.

Ok, gonna get outta here now. ACBG and I have some more “welcome homing” to do. All I can say is, it’s nice to be missed.

Well, anyrose, off the top of my head, a fun game to play is if you’re with Alistair in public, point out someone at random and tell him you saw that person watching him. Perhaps they were even taking notes or talking on a phone. Al will try to maintain composure while he tries to “lose” his “observers” in a paranoid panic. It’s always fun.

Sounds like a gen-ooo-wine sibling! Lovely to have another member of the Cello clan here.

So, are you the one that Al went to visit sometime last year with Dad? (Although I thought that brother was in Arizona…?) And how did you become exiled to Texas? And who’s older? (I’m betting Al.) And…and…I’m sure there are more questions, but I’m off to Target…

GT

I was that brother, gardentraveler. I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ at the time, but am now at Ft. Hood, TX. I happen to be about two years older than Al. It’s fun to tell stories to my fellow soldiers about my “little brother” even though at 23 he’s older than most of them.

Hello everybody! I’ve missed you!

I’ve skimmed through the MMP, so hugs and best wishes to those who need them and for those that are feeling “Teh Ick”, I hope you’re doing better.

Swampy, I’m so glad you’ve made headway with your uncle.

Not much has been going on here. My daughter has been receiving tons o’ stuff from various colleges and universities, and today she received packets for two Youth Leadership type of things that count for college credit. They look very good, but alas, they are quite a bit of money, and between air fare and the cost of them, there is no way we could swing them. However, if she really, really, really wants to go to one of them, I’ll try to find some way to get her there. She hasn’t really expressed an interest, but she may change her mind.

Tomorrow morning I have to go to MIL’s with hubby and help replace her toilet. Some friends of ours may drop by tomorrow evening as well, so between the toilet replacement and errands, I’ll need to spiff up the house too. I should do it tonight, but I just want to relax. It’s been a loooooooooooong work week.

Hubby wants to play WoW, so I guess I’ll go for now.

*MWAH!!! I miss keeping up with you more regularly.

I was just wondering where you were, Taters. Too bad you don’t get to stop by so often any more.

So, where does your daughter want to go to school (is she still wanting to go join her friend out of state?)?

GT

Snakes won over Huntsville 1-0; very exciting game. I also got to meet Nawtha Chucka, Tripler, Bear Nenno and Mrs. Nenno. They couldn’t get tickets for tomorrow nights game 'cause it’s sold out but they are going to attend FanFest.

I may not check in tomorrow night, because seeing as it’s the last regular season home game I may go out drinkin afterwards!

I’m back from the fish fry. They have Yuengling on tap in the bar. I’m home now drinking Guinness and listening to The Clancy Brothers.
SCL, I saw your pic in the Hockeyfest thread. Who’s the Devil’s fan?

If no one else wants Monday, I’ll take it.

From the left, it’s Tripler, Nawtha Chucka, me, Mrs. Nenno and Bear Nenno.

So the interview this morning was for a teaching position at a community college downtown. It’s pretty small but the pay is competitive and I really like how close the school community seems. Their president was at the UChicago community college reception and seemed interested in my resume, so I sent him an email last week, and he called me to invite me over to see the school and have lunch/an interview. It was a lovely lunch at some exclusive club on the 70th floor of the Anon building, and the president basically said he really really wanted me to come teach at the school starting this summer. So I think I’ve more or less landed me a job.

Tomorrow is St Patrick’s Day! We’re planning to get good and drunk and watch the river turn green.

We have a [del]sucker[/del] volunteer for Monday.

All in favor of Doggio bein’ our host with the most say “Aye”.

**
AYE!!!
**

All those opposed [del]sit down and shut up[/del] say “Nay”.

** ::CRICKETS::**

The “Ayes” have it. Doggio shall post a most informative and entertainin’ MMP. Or let Lucretia walk on the keyboard. We’re good either way.
Ok, I’m caffienated up here. Shortly I shall beautify and be off to a day of cookin’ up Irish type food to feed the masses this evening. Last count I got was around two hundred. That’s a lot of corned beef and cabbage, smashed N.O.T. and Irish stew.

Good Saturday Morining! It’s a brisk 29-ish degrees in southern Merrylande this morning, but the rain has stopped. Once **FCD ** rejoins the world of the living, we’re going to hop in the van and head across the river to Fredericksburg to (maybe) get the little boat trailer. Other weekend plans include getting down the gold-veined mirror tiles. So yay!

Also, my plans include not wearing green. It’s a tradition.

Plus laundry - what would a weekend at FCEstates be without several treks to the laundry room? And with luck, I’ll have a little clay play time in there somewhere.

[del]All in faver of dogbut… aaww the heck with formalities. I say you take Monday! Like anyone is going to argue with ME![/del]

Cheers!!

Why the heck does **BearN ** look like such a grump? I’ve met him - I know he can look pleasant - even happy! Anyway, it looks like 80% of you were having a good time!

Good Saturday morning! I’m up, semi-awake, and attempting to caffeinate.

Sounds like a nice situation, Hank. And of course, please don’t turn green while watching the river turn green.

Happy cooking, swampy!

I’ll be playing with mud, most of the day. It’s our annual opportunity to make high-class mud pies.

So Lucretia’s doing the MMP again? Cool!

I’ll also be laundering chez GT. Fascinating, no?

I’m in the middle of sending a bunch of pictures to a friend in batches of 10 or less. Big fun.

Off to investigate breakfast.

GT

Those garden containers look awesome! I want me some. I will need to make some this fall, methinks. Or maybe this summer…for use next spring. How long do they last?

Hazenutty -good luck on the job (I thought you couldn’t get a job with your visa?) and dunno what to say re the Relationship. Having been where you are, it’s hard as hell, but strangely fascinating…hope no-one gets hurt too much (especially the Girl).

MBG --I have just figured out that you are vacation and are shirking your Bus Duties badly. We had more snow here, ya know. Use sunscreen and go Cubbies!

TiggerMomTypePerson --woohoo on the knee and the stairs etc. You’re going gangbusters!
Off to clean the basement today. Ugh and ick and yuck. One reason it remains a hellhole is that I don’t clean it often because it’s a hellhole. That and 2 boys who like to eat popcorn. I hate popcorn–I love it, but to clean it up is a pain. Even with a vaccuum that could suck–insert apt and pithy analogy here-.

Happy Saturday.

Oh, and I was stuck at work until 9:30 last night. We had the staff meeting from hell–our manager cried, our Director cried. I didn’t cry. I wanted (real bad) to roll my eyes, but my Mama reared me right, so I didn’t. I have a nibble on another job–more details when I know more…

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!!! I am up and caffeinating. I am going to listen to the Canes/Devils game before work.

Congrats, Haze!

Enjoy the cookout, swampy.
