A Listful MMP

Wouldn’t ya know that MBG went to THE premier Party school in all of IL?

I am off to take a nap. I got the unknown French woman a picture book of Chicago. Curse you Macys! If Fields were still here, I could give her Frango mints and a nice Chicago trivet as well.

I just applied for the job I hinted at a ways back. <crosses fingers>

And tell us, MBG, just where are the Salukis playing today? (Hint: I can see the venue from the hill that’s a block away.)

Hi, LiLi! Has anyone mentioned that we miss you?

Fingers crossed on the job, rigs. Is it a nursing or library gig?

I went to the Mexican grocery after mass and bought more frozen mamey (to add to ice cream - yum) and some cream.

And I’ve just had a lunch of black-bean tacos with avocado and tomato. And a pear for dessert.

Gotta go look for a book for my book group. Needs to be short and preferably funny. And have stuff in it that can be discussed.

Also…need to go throw some laundry in the dryer. Yeeeeehawwwww.

GT

We loaded up stuff to take to the dump, since we had a crapload of stuff from MIL’s house to take there anyway. Mr. Taters and my son are probably at the dump now.

I need to take a shower and get cleaned up and do some futzing around the house.

Tonight’s dinner will be steak, gnocchi with basil cream sauce, and a salad. Yeah, kind of a weird combo, but I like gnocchi and so do the rest of the family. However, my daughter is not a huge fan of italian sausages or pork in general. So, there we go. Besides, I’m sick to death of chicken.

Li-Li, it was good to see you pop in. I had asked where you were at some point, entirely forgetting that you had given this up for Lent. Sometimes my memory is a little foggy.

I guess I should clean up now.

I thought of you right away gt when I saw where they’d be this weekend. Wave some magic good thoughts in that direction, could ya?

I quit. At least, I quit taking down border. I’ve got about 3/4 of the bedroom done, and a little bit of the bathroom. **FCD ** has torn out most of the shower stall and part of the sheetrock. We’re going to pull the trailer around front and start loading the debris. Then on Sat, we do a dump run, then to Lowe’s for the shower pan, surround, and toilet. And faucets. And towel and TP holders. And lights. And probably other stuff.

But for now, I’ve got jeans in the washer, and in a few minutes, I’m going to start doing my taxes. Oh yeah, wild times here. Woo and hoo…

Went to church today, in the spiffy new temporary quarters that will tide us over until the new sanctuary is built. It’s been since New Years when I got there last.

Passed the driving class, so now I can drive fire engines. The chief had me take one back to the station from the school where we did the testing…

We’re tring a new recipe in the VunderLair: Eyetalin Pot Roast. It smells good, so I’ll let y’all know how it tastes.

Cool, driving fire engines! Papa Tigs used to drive an ambulance. I envy all you people who get to blaze down the road, lights flashing and sirens wailing. Especially when it’s in a good cause, such as going to put out a fire. (Definitely not when it’s to stop me and give me a speeding ticket, however!)

We had a pleasant afternoon – loaded the idiots in the car and drove across the Bay Bridge to the outlet mall to look for some wash-and-wear slacks for Papa Tigs. Didn’t find any, but we got him a couple of great ties, and I found a couple of cute summer tops. Then we stopped partway back, on Kent Island, and took the dogs for a walk on the hike-and-bike trail there. It was, for me, a short walk – about 1/4 mile down and then back, but I had the dogs on the outbound leg and did quite well walking with the new knee, if I do say so myself. So now I feel safe walking them around the neighborhood a bit. There are a lot of swans out around the Bay right now. There’s a pair that live year-round in a small pond that’s between the two spans of highway just at the eastern terminus of the bridge, but everywhere we went today we saw more of them. They’re so pretty and graceful out on the water. And there were a whole bunch more water birds having lunch in a semi-sheltered cove next to the trail; it was nice to be able to just wander along and enjoy them and not be in so much pain that I couldn’t, for a very welcome change! Then we stopped at a store in town on the way home where Papa Tigs finally found his slacks. So it was a successful outing all the way around.

But I definitely hit my limit for the day. It’s such a fine line between doing enough and doing too much. I think I managed not to cross it, but I’m going to be icing the ol’ knee a lot this evening, I suspect…

Yay for drivin’ fire engines Bobbio. Is Eyetalian pot roast anything like my famous Eyetalian chicken? Plop a chicken in the crock pot and pour a bottle of Eyetalian dressing over it and cook.

I was not hung over today. Know what though? Green beer turns your poop green. Just thought I’d share that.

I’ve done, well, nuttin’ all day. I should have cleaned off my pollen covered back porch but I didn’t. Just didn’t wanna, so I didn’t. I shoulda done some laundry but I didn’t. I shoulda done some job search stuff, but I didn’t. I did take a nap though.

Howdy LiLi. Hope you’re doin’ good.

There has been a minor miracle in the SCL household. I did several loads of laundry today (ok, smartbutts, quit snerking, that’s not the miracle) and all of the socks came out with mates. This is the first time I can remember in years that all of the socks matched. I should alert the media.

I have jury duty in the morning. Ya’ll keep your fingers crossed that I get an interesting trial if I have to serve.

I’m on (yes, this is exciting) my fourth load of laundry. I’ve also cleaned out one drawer and am embarking on the second one. Only about a million to go.

And I’ve successfully selected a book for my book club to read next time: The Thing About Jane Spring. I read it about a year and a half ago and thought it was fun (and we needed a fun book this time around).

Cool on the fire-engine driving, Bobbio.

I’m pretty sure you earned the time off, swampy, so we’ll let it go this once.

Off to organize stuff.

GT

WHEW!

Breakfasts and lunches packed. Last load of laundry in the dryer. Taxes almost all done (gotta get some info from my credit union in the morning) - looks like we gotta pay the feds but the state owes us some scratch, so the net is in our favor. Plus I’ll file state right away, and with luck, I’ll have the money to pay the feds in time.

Meanwhile, another weekend winds up and once again, it ended way too fast. Life can be so unfair. <sigh>

Wow, SCL. That is a miracle. Alert all the world religious leaders.

Another quick hello to everyone. Three more weeks, and I’ll be back online all the time. Everything is going very well, swampy, and thanks for asking.

Except for the two-hour argument with QD today about whether she ought to marry Driving Husband when somewhere, somewhere out there, there might be a more perfect one for each of them.
Yeesh. Drama continues.

I have to go to work in the morning?

[whiny voice]I have to go to work in the morning[/whiny voice]

I have to go [del]back on vacation someplace warm[/del] to work in the morning.
:frowning:

I am home from work, my back hurts and a have a lump on my spine. I hope I didn’t wreck a disk. I am working tomorrow, but the new MMP should be up by 0dark:30.

LiLI, Hey! Aren’t you glad you are going to miss the MMP this week?

bobbio, cool. In Raleigh one of the Fire stations uses it’s hazmat truck for grocery shopping.

QD, just marry the poor guy.

Bionictigs, yay working knees!

: points and laughs at MBG :

Time for beerverages!

vBob - driving a fire truck - very  indeed.

Dinner was very nice - we had a great time and ended up closing the place. Legal had a new ice cream on their dessert menu - Kona Coffee Macademia Nut - oooWow! was that strong with Kona flavor!

tired. happy, but tired.

see you in the next MMP

I do not believe that all the socks came out of the washer with pairs. Perhaps you’ve matched up two very similar but non-matching socks in error, SCL?

We’ll be glad to have you back at Easter, LiLi. Then we can all team up to convince QD that she just needs to say yes. We’ll expect invitations to the wedding.

::Also points and laughs at MBG. ::

Ice cream sounds yummy, rosie.

I’ve made it through all the drawers in the closet (well, baskets, really; they’re sort of California closet-y) and have to go pull load 5 out of the dryer and put it away.

Then I’m going to bed. (You may pat me on the back for my massive accomplishments.)

Off to be productive some more.

GT

I’m sorry your back hurts (I can empathize) but you lied. It is well past 0dark:30 and no new MMP as of yet.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Well, tis 0600 here and no new MMP. I am off to work, so I will catch up with the new one tomorrow.

Happy Monday, all.
