Somebody broke the sky, it’s flaking off…
Happy Hump Day!
It’s dark and 21 degrees outside, with a high of 27 predicted.
We got enough snow yesterday that Sah-son had to go out and shovel this morning. He got part way through and it’s snowing again, covering the area he just shoveled.
I’m up too early, have been up since 2.
I foresee a nap later this morning.
I’m trying to get out of this sleep schedule of waking up in the middle of the night, then napping from 10 - noon, or 1.
It’s hard to get stuff done when you are sleeping in the middle of the day.
I have a mess of phone calls I need to make today. Joy and happiness there. Unfortunately, I am going to have to talk to people and I’d prefer not to.
It’s always something it seems. Yesterday Sah-son got an email from his professor telling him he needs to turn in his assignment that was due Moonday. He did turn it in on Sunday, and it has already been graded- he got 100%. He wanted to ignore the email thinking maybe she sent it to the entire class or to the wrong person, but I said no, you need to question it. If she sent it to him in error she needs to know so she can send it to the right person.
He never wants to communicate with his professors, even when it is only a simple email.
I’m glad you got hot water Doggio, although aren’t you always kind of in hot water anyway?
Maybe Alex Catt would like a visit from his twin brother?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 37 Amurrkin out and cloudy. We are supposed to get some snow this mornin’ startin’ around sevenish and lastin’ the mornin’. Of course nuttin’ will come of it. Temps are supposed to drop to around 28 Amurrkin durin’ the mornin’ and then go back to around 35 this afternoon when it will be N.O.S. The wind (duh!) will keep the wind chill factor in the 20s but that’s fine by me. I got nowhere I need to be. I shall make a big pot of beast stew to sup upon just cause it’s good weather for beast stew and corn bread. I am, however, disappointed that my “NO SNOW” signs have malfunctioned. ![]()
Butters I do indeed make pineapple casserole from time to time. Love it with ham especially. This is the recipe I use. Easy-Peasey!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. At some point I should also purtify at least enough to greet the FedEx delivery person who will be bringin’ my meds.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
There’s a dusting of snow on the grass, but the roads were just wet. Still, the base is on 2-hour delay, so my commute was a piece of cake! Yay! I guess. There was a salt truck in my neighborhood as I was leaving - guess they’re putting down preventative de-icer - theoretically the worst will come in the next few hours. Still, not expecting more than an inch, so it seems to be an overreaction.
Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Wednesday!
What a splendid idea; exercising the dogs.
Foreign currency bets, eh? Than I shall bet one Canadian looney (are we allowed to wager Midget?) ![]()
It’ll be warmer & no wind chill if you close your wind(duh).
There is a bit of white outside, but not enough that I can’t see the blades of grass. Due to state-mandated testing, students taking the tests were to report at normal time & students not taking this test module were to report 3 hrs late. Due to the white, there is a 2-hr delay & the tests are pushed back until tomorrow; how much you want to bet that some students compound them & show up 5 hours late?
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight. I await the oncoming Snowpocalypse.
Not sure how Alex Catt would take it, but Gordie likes to…appreciate boy cats.
It snowed but has stopped. The sun is supposed to show up and make the snow go away. Come on sun! I posted a pic on my facebook page. I’d link to a pic here but photo bucket is a pita.
The snow stopped here as well.
I saw today that NatGeo listed Hagerstown as one of the best small cities in the US.
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/features/best-small-cities-united-states/
Kind of surprising to me.
Doggio - A Dam Cat loves dogs, but not that way.
No snow, but rain earlier and grey now.
I’m glad everyone is making it through all those flurries and whatnot.
Blurf for the day, on my end I guess.
Snowing and sticking to the grass now. I ran to teh store for the important thigs: beer, coffee and an onion.
Snowpocalypse 2018 south Jawja edition is now over. The sun is out and the snow is meltin’. A good time was had by all.
doggio remember, never wear a white onion before Memorial Day or after Labor Day.
It’s 17F here in N. Ali-bama, so while the sky is clear, the snow on the ground is going to be sticking around for a bit. High is supposed to reach 60F by Sunday, so hopefully our winter weather is done for the year here.
Brain woke me up at 4am; body promptly hit brain with a tire iron and went back to sleep till 7:45am. Yeah body.
My uncle who has been in a nursin’ home in Ye Olde Home Towne died this mornin’. Sad but we all knew it was comin’. As per his wishes he will be buried without any kind of service. Since I’ve mentioned goin’ to visit him when I am in Ye Olde Home Towne, I thought I’d let y’all know.
In other news it is 36 Amurrkin and N.O.S. out but windy.
My condolences on your uncle Swampy.
swampy, it’s tough in geezerdom. I have only one uncle still alive, no aunts, and a cousin who’s 75. I hope your uncle’s passing was peaceful.
Hugs!
Oh Swampy I am so sorry for the loss of your uncle. Was he your Mother’s brother?
{{Swampy}}
Back from second looong day in a row; skool then evening irk over an hour’s drive away, in sideways rain. The gods decided to be helpful though, and my afternoon class got cut really short 'cos we were supposed to be on the computers, but the whole site lost internet, so we couldn’t even log in. This was helpful 'cos I’d messed up my scheduling, so I was gonna have to miss the last 20 minutes or be late for irk, but now we’re all gonna do it another day instead.
It’s nice when two mess-ups cancel out.
I get a bit of a lie in tomorrow, which I am looking forward to.
**FCD **wants biscuits and gravy, so we’re going to Cracker Barrel for supper. I don’t have to cook - yay!
It’s cold and gray and just ugh-worthy outside. I had to fill my car, and I needed a lot of gas, so it was a long stand in the cold. My life is *sooooooo *hard. <sigh>
At least the work day is over.
I’m sorry about your uncle, Swampy.
The snow this am didn’t amount to much. Sah-son had to go shovel a bit he had missed because he didn’t go all the way to the property line.
He is getting so lazy.
He heard from his professor, he is okay. She sent the message to the entire class.
The cable was out for a while today.
The dog is being a brat about getting into the trash can, again.
He is also being a brat about going upstairs, which is not allowed anymore since he discovered the litter box. We have the steps barricaded, but he seems to think it is a challenge. I’m debating buying a baby gate but I have a feeling it won’t work for long. Shar pei are not known for atheletic ability (it took him almost 5 months to learn to go upstairs, and almost as long to learn to jump on the couch by himself) but I think come spring we may have to sign him up for some agility classes.
