I love your garden, rigs! It looks like a lot of work though. Eek.
I had a disconcerting dream about being on a train with The Guy and Victorian Heroine. I ran into her and she offered me uncooked ramen. Then Mr Cheerio said he had to go back to Georgia (the country) because it had been invaded.

Roo - Unfortunately my Google Fu is weak. However, it’s Lee Fresh Rice Stick noodle soup. First time I’ve seen it, but then this is the first Asia-centric supermarket I’ve been to, so it may not be all that uncommon.
There were a few different flavours there, as well as different brands, so I’m going to have to sample them all of course. Best of all they’re dirt cheap – under $2 for most of them. I’ll have to hit the market tomorrow so I’ve got some new taste experiences for work next week.
Nooner, he didn’t say and I didn’t ask, but here in Oregon it’s not unusual for people to have been shot at or had a close miss–people play with guns all the time, really. Oregon’s still a pretty wild & wooly place when you get outside of the Portland metro area, and judging from this guy (happy go lucky good ol’ boy, probably in his mid-late 20’s) I’d say it’d be a wonder if that was his first or last encounter with gunfire. Heck, my son once got shot at seven times in one day, but that was down in California and one of the incidents (three of the bullets) was a drive by while he was in a phone booth–not all that unusual in Rio Linda, really. Yes, we are all crazy out here in the Amurrican West! :smack:
**Rigs, ** your garden is gorgeous, nice work! It makes all the toil and labor worth it when you can kick back and enjoy that view, doesn’t it?
I’m totally a sloth today, had a friend come over a while ago and we chitchatted and got all caught up–she was supposed to be on her way to the brew festival downtown but we got to yakking and now her friend’s all peeved and passive aggressive at her–she did not appear to be overly heartbroken at this development.
Something smells yum in da kitchen, Himself is doing something with chicken and a spicy lemon marinade spice mix we got from Penzey’s and something with rice and it’s all smelling very, very intriguing. He made several trips out to the front herb garden so there’s probably some lemon thyme in there and no doubt some sage. I like it when he cooks, he’s very good at it!
Yeah, Mork, cough up the 411 on that product, don’t bogart the pho, mang! ETA: “Never mind!” [/Litella] I’ll go look for that, I have awesome Asian stores in the neighborhood!
I gotta go to Home Despot in the morning, yeesh… Weekend warrior action, right arm!
That’s the problem. The brand name is Lee. Which is about as unique as Smith. I looked at the packaging and found their manufacturer (Nr. Instant Produce Co. Ltd.) but the website is currently owned by a squatter. Best I could come up with is a company profile, which is approximately not at all useful.
Nice garden, rigs. Aren’t hollyhocks cool? The leaves on mine are quite lacy; not sure what ate them, but the flowers have been spectacular. Also, I love your puddle…
Hope all the roommate stuff works out, Spaz. And yay for more space!
It is definitely a small world, isn’t it, Smartie? And all that shooting makes me go .
Looks like you got lots done, FCM!
Punk drosts two day in a row, swampy? :dubious:
I finished sanding everything and have started cleaning up the room so that I can paint tomorrow. Now I’m exhausted.
Ok, I think I found it. . .the website, but not the product you’re talking about.
WARNING: Open this site at your peril. It’s incredibly slow (took at least 3 minutes to load where I am) and the first hit from google for another website says it can harm your computer. I think that’s the one that Mork said that was occupied by squatters. So unless you have good virus protection and spyware/adware protection, don’t try this at home.
I put spaces at the beginning and at the end for those who don’t read warnings.
So I found the manufacturer and the Lee products, but the only ones pictured were the pho noodle powder base and you said that’s not what it was, so it’s still a mystery.
Er, perhaps a pic next time you eat one?
Now I REALLY want pho soup!
Hey doggio! I’ve been around. You’ve been skipping over my posts, haven’t you?!
Trust you guys to turned uncooked ramen into a double entendre.
And yes, I meant Prof. Rapunzel, not Roo. :smack: It’s probably because I was reading Roo’s post while I was typing my own. Or something.
Ugh. The only good thing about teaching on Sundays is that I’ve already taught this lesson :: counts on fingers :: six times by now, so I can teach in zombie mode.
Ima go sleepy bye now but I leave y’all with this thought.
Nitey Nite!
P.S. Please please be sorta kinda quiet tomorrow… kthnkslvyabye!
ETA: This is all my sissy’s fault. Blame her… Ok, I lurve my sissy… still she’s the evil influence behind all these durkne pstos… Oh, and I have some lovely ocean front property in Arizona if anyone’s innersted…
-swampbear (purveyor of many )
Boy Howdy, Swampy is on a -bender- watch out. Thanks for the pics of your garden, Rigs - it’s beautiful! And huge!! And FCM, you folks have been -very- busy!! Love the tub accoutrements, btw, even if Mr Taz seems to be turning his tail to them. (He really is a beautiful cat!)
I’ve been watching TCM tonight … just finished watching a Lucille Ball movie from 1940. If you ever catch some of her early works, please do–you’ll enjoy them, let me tell you. She’s so different from the Lucy most of us know and love. And no hennaed hair!
Soooo, swampus … Are ya gonna answer any of those questions come morning???
Sorry for my (apparently unnoticed ) absence over the weekend. Very busy time, what with hubby’s birthday and hubby being at work almost all weekend (and overnight at that) after some civil unrest a couple of suburbs over (since hubby is a civil/public servant, he has to go to all these things and then write up reports about them, etc. etc.). I now have 2 weeks off, in which to organise myself, buy a belated present for hubby, &c. Hubby is notoriously hard to buy for, since he is a fussy little sh*t. I have however found the perfect gift - a leather beanbag. He loves to lounge on the floor watching TV, so the beanbag is a nice luxury item, which I hope he will really like!!!
Well, I better get my butt in gear. I need to make an appointment to see my doctor about some TMI stuff.
Hugs, yays, boos, etc. all round … I will try to catch up later, I promise!
**Roo **-- Sorry if I missed some personal message? Anyway, I gather that you are interested in finding out all about my head…? (Nope, not going there… that’s too TMI even for me! :p)
Oh, and Ivory…? I don’t think **Roo **swings that way
On a more serious note – continued good wishes for you father.
**Haze **-- aren’t you glad you weren’t dreaming about sausage? Or cucumbers?
**Dotty **-- yay! for vacation! And for not having to go back to the old job when it’s over!
**Aleq **-- … and you think we live in a dangerous part of the world!
**Swampy **-- Noay eekiespay atinlay…
:waves once more at Roo, just to be sure she doesn’t feel overlooked:
