A Melancholy MMP

I have tried my best to resist the comment I am about to make but I just can’t help it…

Next time tell DH to be more careful.

mika howdy! MWAH Sorry about your mom and all the family troubles. If and when you decide to come back, we’ll no doubt be here.

{{{BioRosie}}}] It just looks like you need a hug.

rigs, young lady, you sit right down there and write! That novel won’t write itself you know! Don’t you stomp your foot at me!

I live to motivate.

I have chickens coolin’ to make chicken sallit. They smell soooooo good! I’m hongry!

Hello swampy, ya old fart. How’s it going over there? Kind of near the other Albeeny, aren’t ya? I think so.

Anyway, gonna get my gear on and cycle on home!

Um… just who are you again? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Mika!! Missed ya…

Seriously, with you gone, I’ve been reduced to flirting with the riff-raff that stayed behind!

Too bad you’re leaving the Boards. You’re not the only one of the Good Ones leaving us…

Sorry to hear about you family. None of our families seem to be getting any younger, for some reason… :frowning:

:Stands first in line:

**Lunch ** you are calling us riff raff? And when **Mika ** is gone you will be wanting to flirt with us again? :Starts muttering under breath:

Hi Mika! Glad to see you back if even for a little bit.

Taxi sending prayers up for your Mom.

I know I’m forgetting lots of comments, but hubby is ready to go grocery shopping, which means I need to get dressed and go too.

Yup :stuck_out_tongue:

But I smiled when I said that, pardn’r!

Mika!! ::waves:: I’ve been meaning to email you. We’ve missed you around here. Glad you popped in. Sorry about the family woes. The new house sounds cool though!

Sometimes ya just can’t win.

**FCD ** wasn’t feeling well last night, so he went to bed around 7, and I decided to join him. He was asleep by 8, and I turned the TV off at 8:30 and soon fell asleep myself.

At 9:40, the phone rang. One of my high school friends was calling. Twenty freekin’ minutes to 10PM! She asked “Is it too late to call?” Um DUH! I explained that we got up at 4:45, and she said good night. By that time, SIL was home from work, and while he wasn’t noisy, I was just awake to hear him moving around so I didn’t drop right back to sleep. And I woke a couple more times during the night, so when the alarm when off, I think I was deep in REM - I was exhausted!! That set me up for a looooong day.

But even with dozing off while reading incredibly boring messages, I managed to get the month of April done, and the project leader said we’re now caught up, and maybe a bit ahead of schedule. Go me!

Suppertime - leftover lasagne and Amish corn on the cob. The stove is beeping, so I’m off.

Hugs to all!! MWAH!!!

It’s Quit O’clock (well, actually, that was half an hour ago, but I had some stuff I needed to get done so it could go out today… but that’s all done and now I can go). YAY!

Think I’ll pick up some takeout on the way home. The Boy is working late, so I’m on my own and feeling too lazy to cook.

vrooooooooooooooom

Riff raff???

Roo and I are not pleased.

Speaking of phantom MMPers–whatever happened to Draelin? I envy her her belltower.

Work called. At least I get to go in tomorrow–but only 9-2. I’m helping out in the morning and then we have a lunch meeting, so I get paid to eat. Great and all, but I tend to not like what they pick, so it’s not much of a treat for me. Anyhoo, tis money.

I think I may go over to medical records tomorrow and see if Mary still works there. I am intrigued by this PT job they have over there. It’s not nursing, (but not library, either), but it’s something…

I’d have 2 PT jobs instead of one FT one. Not sure if that is the best bet for me long term; I think it’s the solution for me right now. Once #2 son gets into middle school, I’ll probably go FT. (augh…). But my hours in SDS are so iffy–some weeks I work 3 days (and sometimes those are 3 10 hour days) and some weeks I don’t work at all. Gotta do something.

BTW: I made risotto today for early dinner (#2 son was starving). I added shrimp and parmesan cheese to it–but I overcooked the shrimp. :frowning:

Meeks! It’s so good to see you again. We’re here…we’re always here.

I managed to finish half my errands, but now I’ve got to run the daughter down to the credit union so she can open a checking account. After that, it’s grocery store time.

After that, well maybe I’ll get to relax for a bit.

Mr. Taters is off playing on the neighbor’s boat. It would have been fun to go, but since I ended up having to take the whole day off, I might as well make the best use of my time and get stuff accomplished that I can’t normally get done during business hours because I’m at work.

rigs, my daughter’s AP exam this year was Lit. She too, was very pleasantly surprised at her score because she said parts of it were very difficult and she just kind of winged it on a couple of portions.

I have a massive headache; no doubt due to lack of caffiene.

Home briefly. Hi Meeks!!!

Off to a meeting…

Hugs.

GT

Well, rats. Today all of our channels changed. Now I have to relearn my favorites. Luckily, I only have a couple of favorites, and a couple of auxiliary favorites. Dunno what they are tho.

SIL is on his way. He missed supper, so he’s on his own.

**Allessan ** - lovely tribute to your grandmother!

**Mika ** - nice ta see ya!

**rosie ** - take the rest of the week off - tell then I said you could!

I can’t remember what else I wanted to say, so everybody have some chocolate and/or beer.

Or chocolate and beer! They go good together. Two of the major food groups even.

I went to see my friend and family a little while ago. They’re holdin’ up as well as one could expect. He died a week before his 25th birthday. :frowning: I went to the funeral home site and read the obit also. Just so sad.

I also learned that the post-funeral feed will not be at the church but at friend’s sister’s (who’s also a friend) house which is acutally better for me food transport wise as sis lives a mile from da cave. I figure I can go funeralize then swing back by da cave and get the food to take on over. The rest of the food is also bein’ brought over after the funeral.

Oh and bein’ the true southerner I am I snooped to see if there was enough food for the family. No worries. There was enough fried chicken to make the Colonel green with envy. Plus N.O.T. sallit. And cakes. Other stuff too but the critical things, of course, are fried chicken, N.O.T. sallit and cake. I did take some sweet and unsweet tea and some cups over. The cups I took are styrofoam cups, of which I still have several packages left over from when my father died a little over four years ago. The dang things were everywhere! I brought two cases of 'em back to da cave.

Ok, those last two sentences are extremely weird even for me.

“roise”? WhoTF is “roise”

Can’t I have both?

So when they ask for the doctor’s note, I’ll just refer them to you, shall I?

We’ve returned from the next set of errands. My daughter now has her very own checking and savings accounts. She’s going to set up her paycheck for direct deposit to her checking account. She’s also set up for on-line banking, so I told her she should move $25.00 bucks or so from every week from her checking account (after the paycheck is deposited) and move it to her savings account.

I told her it seems like a small amount, but it’ll add up over time and that way she’ll always have a little something extra in case she overdraws her account.

For now, she’s gone with the basic free checking account. That way she doesn’t have to worry about carrying a minimum balance. Once her savings account has $100.00 in it, she’ll start to accrue a bit of interest.

I fronted her $100.00 bucks so she could put $50.00 in her savings account and $50.00 in her checking account. She needed a minimum of $25.00 in the savings account and couldn’t get the checking account unless she had a savings account.

After that, we went grocery shopping and picked up enough for dinners to get us through the next four days.

I’m going to relax for a bit now. I’ve spent the whole day running and right now things are nice and quiet around here because my son is at a friend’s house and my husband is playing on the neighbor’s boat. My daughter is upstairs playing on her laptop.

I’ve still got a massive headache. I took some Motrin but it doesn’t seem to be touching it.

Mom is working on a huge picnic for the local Sportsmans club. She called tonight to chit chat and we ended up talking about that quite a bit. It turns out she was going to buy postcards, letterhead to make it look professional. She would have to front the cost. I offered to design something for her. Plus she was going to handwrite everything out. I offered to print, cut and help her out. Should be fun designing the stuff.

Hi, everybody. A brief drive-by, though I will post more tomorrow.

Noone, nice to see you too. But are you calling my friends riff-raff? Them’s fightin’ words! Put em up!

Hiya, taxi, sweetie! How are you guys doing down there? Sorry to hear about your mom…

Hi, Mom! I’m not in trouble for staying away for so long, am I? My real mom goes to sleep at 9 PM, too. :dubious:

Hey **Taters **- sorry you didn’t get to go on the boat. :frowning: sounds like it would have been fun.

**GT **- good to hear from ya, hope you’re well.

Hiya **Rosie **& MCUNE!

More tomorrow!

I make awesome chicken sallit. No brag. Just fact. I saved some for us to make sammiches with cause ol’ y’all know who lurves it too.

We nurses keep a proper professional decorum and do not hug, but in your case, I’ll make an exception,** Roisie** (now with more i’s!). One caveat: could you wear your fun antennae? Please?
