This post has moved from one topic to another. Lets blow this popsicle stand and keep going!! No one is getting anywhere by dogging each other out. At first, I was amused by the whole thing, but come on, lets move one. There are plenty of other posts that are intriguing and fun to post comments to. Alice has made her point, so has everyone else. We arent even on subject anymore, it has just become a hate-war. I am not some major “love hippy” but for crying out loud - can we just drop it!! It pisses me off that I come here to check out the latest on the thread and it is nothing but lame comments about one doper or another. Its stupid - granted, I shouldnt check it out if that is what I think it is going to be but damn, get a life. There are hundreds of other threads to share your opinion on. Why are you interested in seeing the thread terminated? If you’re not interested in the road this thread has taken, then don’t buy a ticket on the bus! Read the others, or start your own! Perhaps you come back here because it entices you like a cigarette entices a smoker–it’s hard to resist! No one is exactly asking you to come here, or putting a gun to your head!
For your information, the road this thread has taken should not be too surprising! It follows a natural course of evolution observed in many other MB’s and USENET groups! According to some theories on the internet, that as a discussion in a thread gets longer it tends to get more heated; as more heat enters the discussion, tensions get higher and people start to insult each other over anything they can think of. Eventually, those tensions will cause someone to find the worst insults that come to mind and the thread will continue indefinitely!! That has obviously happened here! It can be entertaining, amusing, and a colossal waste of time! BTW… I couldn’t help noticing that we’ve had around 3000 tourists making a visit! Prolly wanting to know how this soap opera was going to end!
My new-found friends, Wikkit and racinchikki, want to end it by invoking what is called “Goodwin’s Law” which is to bring a topic of discussion into this thread pertaining to such subjects as Nazi’s, homosexuals, abortion, etc., in hopes the participants will leave in a huff, thus ending for all sense and purposes, the thread! But what their little brains don’t realize is that while that may work in a non-moderated UseNet Group, it wouldn’t work in a Moderated MB such as this one. What’s interesting is that had those two turkeys stayed away, this thread would surely have died sooner, than later! But, by coming here and wanting to divert this thread down another road, such as talking about Nazi’s, they prolong that which they intend to end!! Go Figure!
