If she goes missing again, go to the store, buy a shovel & some tarps; dispose of them in some random dumpster, but make sure to keep the receipt, preferably someplace like the bottom of your sock drawer.
Actually, there is a horrific somewhat-local case playing out right now (arrests {plural} were made this weekend). One of the major case crackers was a receipt for a saw that was used during the summer. :smack:
Nope. Must. Resist. Too easy.
Home from the horsepistol; twas a Monopoly-like trip for us. Good times & lots of laughs since the patient doesn’t feel sick.
Friendly reminders and dinner suggestions - just some of the services we offer in the MMP! Welcome to our playground!
I was dreaming that I went shopping with **LiLi **and her brood! It’s weird she should come to mind because she hasn’t been in the MMP in eons and I don’t think I’ve seen her lately on FB either. I choose to assume that she’s been too busy to fuss with the computer. But how odd that she’d pop up from my subconscious!
XM radio has the Billy Joel channel again, and I’m loving it! I especially like the little clips of him talking about why he wrote certain songs - it’s really interesting. But it got me to thinking about music I’ve composed (tho not for almost 40 years…) and how, when I die, so will my music. I never really wrote any of it down, beyond lyrics and a few chords, so no one could reproduce it. A rather melancholy way to start the day.
On the plus side, we’ll get above freezing this afternoon, so yay!
Good afternoon, mumpers! I am feeling better today, so that’s a good thing. Just in time for my first PT session at the gym tonight for this year. I had a text from said PT this moring to make sure I was still ok for tonight so it’ll be good to get back onto the training schedule. I have five more sessions with her to complete my 10, then I have to decide whether or not I want to book any more.
The weatherlady said today it would be mild and then turn colder for the end of the week, I might have to get my heavier coat out next, still currently wearing a jacket and people keep commenting on the fact I should be cold. Maybe when we get some cold termperatures then?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 32 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 64 for the day and mostly N.O.S. The rest of the week calls for highs in the 70s. Good news for those around here still without power. The local PTB say power should be restored to all affected by the storm Moanday last week by the end of the week so yay for that.
Today I shall clean da cave. The place is not filthy so I could get that done this mornin’ easily. I have a poke roast in the slow cooker as I post. Succotash (flytrap’s fav!), smashed N.O.T., and rolls shall complete tonight’s dindin.
BooFae yay for feelin’ better!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall purtify up a bit and get busy with cave defilthyfication. Rah.
I don’t know if it melts easier, but it doesn’t burst as easily, which is the bigger concern. Hopefully this spring I’ll be able to find somebody to insulate the garage so this will stop happening.
I really wish this cold would stop hanging on. I feel pretty good, but there is still ick in my insides.
I have a phone interview this afternoon for a possible new job, so I have to remember to go to lunch late.
If the pipes are accessible, you can get insulation from Lowe’s or HD specially made to slip around pipes. Now, if the pipes are behind sheetrock, that’s another issue…
OK, break’s over. Back to fixing 3-month-old drawings…
Drae if you can reach the pipe, it’s super easy to get some pipe insulation and wrap that yourself. They sell a variety of materials to do that at various hardware stores and it’s actually very cheap too. It’s got peal and stick adhesive along one edge. I’ve had to do it a few time. Might be worth considering to save your showers (and it’s cheaper than insulating the entire garage).
Made in back from CA. Very bumpy flight, but not the worst I’ve been on either. Unsurprisingly bad headache today (often happens after all the injections). I shall be shoving the replicants off to school and then crawling back into bed.
All snow and ice has melted. It was rain and thunderstorms yesterday (and today). Snow again tomorrow. Silly weather.
They’re not behind sheet rock, but they are behind a mess of insulation and chicken wire and probably decades-old mouse shit. The garage desperately needs work, so I don’t mind getting that done. I know that the wall between it and the house isn’t up to code, and what little insulation there is is off-sized and just kind of hanging out. Which is bad, because Roomie is violently allergic to fiberglass insulation, and therefore can’t even set foot in the garage. Nor can she touch or stand too close to anyone who’s recently been in there.
So it’ll be expensive, but it has to be done. That is (hopefully) this year’s House Project. We got the patio done last summer, but this year I’m payin’ somebody to get 'er done.
Not around here. Here it is Ice Day with freezing rain predicted. Snow I love; growing up where and when I did I can drive in or handle any amount of snow. But ice? Not so much.
Darn – off by one.
I shall now actually NOT retire for naps. I shall head to car dealer and get headlights and other repairs promised when car was bought. Sigh.
Also, discovered that daughter has not received meds since I left on trip. Unfortunately, she’s on the kind of meds where one gets sick if one does not receive their meds. I don’t know what happened. I think hubby thought she was hold enough to manage herself. Er, not so much on this front. Anyway, I got her meds started again and bundled her into bed. By tomorrow, she should be feeling more herself.
I wonder if there’s any such thing as a normal day?
We have snow! I thought it was supposed to be getting warmer out.
So much for what I thought.
Another thought that proved wrong.
I was thinking last night how nice it’s been with no more mice in the house.
HA!
I heard Sah-son let out a little yelp from the kitchen early this am.
A mouse brushed against his foot as it was running from the cat.
My friend got home from the hospital, with some heavy duty meds for dizziness and nausea.
Read much, retained little… but at least the grumpies are gone.
I had to tell my daughter that the school where she used to teach up here had a second day off for the weather - I’m pretty sure it’s due to icy roads in the county. That’ll show her that she shouldn’t have moved to Orlando!!
I think we’re heading to Costco in a bit this morning. It’s above freezing today but they’re threatening us with snow again tonight.
Red, for some people the planning and building the layout is as much, or more fun than the running of trains. I admit to being one of those people.
Flytrap, I am not related, nor do I have anything to do with your wife. Why? What have you heard?
I’ve worked in a couple of places that had lunchrooms, but none where they offered breastfeeding. I wonder how they would list that in the company brochure?
Mom, I saw LiLi on FB yesterday on my phone. Don’t know why you’re not seeing her, except that FB has a habit of editing what one sees arbitrarily. I’ve also noticed that the posts I see on my phone are often not the same posts that I see on the rare occasions that Look at it on my PC. It’s a puzzlement.
Time now to make myself presentable for Costco. They aren’t like Wally World ya know.
**Bumba **- it’s bizarre how FB decides what you do and don’t want to see. My spousal unit will see things my daughter posts but I won’t. I suspect a plot, possibly Russia is behind it. I am not amused.
Related to the OP, Colin Mochrie has just said on Twitter: “All the world’s a stage, and the reviews have not been great.”
Went to the doctor, who said my cough should clear up on its own in a while, and prescribed me some cough syrup. It has codeine in it. My sister reacts badly to codeine, so I’m a bit wary of taking the meds, but we’ll see.
Howdy Y’all! Da cave is all spiffed up and defilthyfied. I even gasp ironed some shirts. gasp Dindin has been prepped and the makeage of sides shall commence shortly. The poke roast smells nummerific!
