A mile of the MMP

Arg. I have been dealing with tax thingies myself. Disability and two states adds that extra turn of the dial to 11. (Best movie ever. Do you think an 11 year old and 13 year old are old enough for Spinal Tap? We counted once. I think we have 9 or more copies of it. Because.)

OK. Doc says my injection site is infected. Please go to urgent care for appropriate review and a prescription for antibiotics. I walked in. Wall to wall people in masks (indicating diseases I Do Not Want, I assume) and a long line just to check in. I considered my red, inflamed arm, decided it didn’t have inflamed streaks shooting down the arm yet, and walked out. I don’t have time to catch pneumonia, or ebola-swine-strep-achosis. No, thanks. I’ll try again another day.

Other than that, I am now covered in 3 cats (very hospitable, cats, on cold days), and hubby finally comes home today. Huzzah!

Mooom I have read your thread. I shall attempt an entry at a later time.

Welcome back butters!

{{{Uncle Pearl}}}

swampy, I’m glad you wore pants to the liberry! :stuck_out_tongue:

doggio, I hope you have a designated driver.

The oil is changed in the car, but they found a nail in the tire that got one last summer. Because the nail is too close to the plug to plug again, they left it in and ordered a pair of tires for me. Normal light driving should be ok until Tuesday though.

Groceries are bought and put away and supper was obtained from the good noodle house (tiger soup and curry puffs with enough rice for breakfast). Now it’s chill time.

I forgot to mention that Golden Corral turned out to be Sonny’s BBQ instead. I found a coupon for their buy one get one free sammich deal and it was due to expire tomorrow! The deal is a sammich, a side, and a drink. I called OYKW and he agreed we just had to use that coupon. We are after all cheap. Anywho we both got their Carolina bbq sammich which has slaw, fries, and sweet tea. The fact that the sammich comes with slaw made it like we got two sides. Win-Win! The sammiches are hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuge so we were both stuffded.

red I see no rule at the liberry that says I have to wear pants but I do so to avoid drafts.

Good BBQ joints do not have coupons.
They have either white haired waitresses wearing aprons with little ticket books, cigarettes hanging out of the corner of their mouths, and they ask you, “What do you want, Honey?” or they have cute young waitresses.

The cute young waitresses are in training.

Is your liberry in Canada, as that’s where most people avoiding the draft went?

I am home in case anyone was wondering. The Shipping TDR Team decided not to show up so I ended up agreeing to stay 6 hours instead of my usual 4 or sometimes 5. What the heck – I got beer and a still right here at home so its not like I need to go out on a Friday night.

We’re considering doing the casino buffet Monday since the OW doesn’t have to work and I don’t go in until 4.5.

I can’t tell yall my joy at having a 3 day weekend. i only irked two full days this week and a half but since i am still puny it was quite enough. I am number 1 on the Dr waitlist and I really hope Doc decides to work tomorrow or it will be Moanday. I am much better but far from well.

Supper was leftovers and beer. Our wx is back to normal which means the A/C is on. One good thing about the plague I have is I am sleeping very well. I have a hankering for French Toast so may indulge it in the morn.

Out of sorts, foggy and blaming it on the impending new “President” sigh, I can’t even…

Happy weekend all!

Evening all. Busy week. Hubs went home to Bahrain on Tuesday, and I am struggling to adapt to life as a “single” parent. I’m tired all the time, and my 2yo daughter will only eat yoghurt and chicken nuggets. All I seem to do is wash dishes (no dishwasher), pick up stuff off the floor and wash towels. FML

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work, and hockey after work.

Dotty, :frowning: Although that is healthier than most 2 yr old’s diets.

red, I didn’t overindulge. Except in the tears of my enemies. :D(Buffalo fans are jerks, mostly.)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 47 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 76 and N.O.S. for the day. Today I get to fight with Dell about new ‘puter. I am armed with the info I need and shall prevail. This will take care of today’s RDA. Nuttin’ else planned and I will be happy not to leave da cave at all.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I should purtify up a bit. One can be presentable even if one spends the day in one’s jammy pants and a tshirt.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Dotty, I know you aren’t looking for parenting advice as you’ve been doing this a long time, and I know 2-y/o kids have a way of finding that last nerve, but one thing they don’t do is starve to death. They’re old enough to understand “Well, this is supper. You don’t have to eat it, but this is all there is.”

Of course, I’m mean that way. Deep cleansing breath, and remember, someday the roles will be reversed and they’ll be looking after you in your dotage… um, never mind…

**Sunny **- dab some neosporin on it and maybe use some alcohol… internally… Feel better!

I won’t even make a snide comment to **swampy **about having Sonny’s when our local BBQ is not terrible but way overpriced. Well, not here anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have I abused enough smilies?

It’s raining and just above freezing here, and today’s high is supposed to be 36° - ugh. Tomorrow will be sunny and 43° - a little better anyway. We’re going to go see LaLaLand this weekend and I’m thinking tomorrow will be the better driving day. Plus I ran the car thru the car wash just a few days ago and the street spray will make it all icky!! I may declare today to be laundry and chore day.

No 3-day weekend for me. Our company gives us 9 paid holidays that coincide with most of the Fed holidays, but MLK day becomes the day after Thanksgiving. I could burn some leave and take the day off, but I’ve got lots to do and I’m hoarding my leave. So no holiday till Prez Day in Feb. The other Fed holiday they don’t do is Columbus Day, in case you’re counting.

In summary - I’m up, caffeinating, and it’s raining. Happy Saturday!

You could :smack:  :smack: them around some.

Beat them up, and steal their lunch money!

butters, was that sympathy French toast to commiserate with those of us who are drifting back into winter? :stuck_out_tongue:

Today is going to be a lazy day. I’ll do some cooking and play in the studio. I do need to go to the office supply place for photo paper ($10 coupon! swampy isn’t the only thrifty one). After the current layout is finished, it’s time to get a jump on the Easter/spring cards. I’ve already designed several, so it’s working them up for sale that’s left.

Avaricious, parsimonious, penurious, penny pinching skinflint!
:dubious:

People were complaining again about the cold.
How cold was it?
20,000 Leagues Below Zero!
(of course that’s with wind chill. otherwise it was barely 5,000 leagues below zero)

I can handle having a song stuck in my head.

But why does it have to be the theme from Underdog?

Speeeed of lightning
Rooooar of thunder
Fiiiighting all who
Rooooob or plunder

Happy Saturday!

We have sleet, or freezing rain, or whatever it is that makes noise coming down.

Dotty the fastest way to get her to stop eating yogurt and nuggets is to buy several family sized bags of nuggets and three dozen containers of yogurt. You can be sure that as soon as you have put them away she will decide she hates nuggets and yogurt. From then on she will eat only hot dogs and mac and cheese. Or bananas and cheese. Or applesauce and cheerios.
Look at it this way, it makes meal planning easier and all of those choices and quick and easy.

Jeremiah was a bullfrog
He was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
But I helped him drink his wine
And he always had some mighty fine wine.

You’re welcome.

Hei! Siegfried gehört
nun der Niblungen Hort!
O, fänd’ in der Höhle
den Hort er jetzt!
