SWAMPY
Hope you made enough for all of us Mumpers cuz you are making us hungry, we will be over in a bit.
Happy Saturday all, I suspect MOOOOOM is without power as she has not posted yet and well that’s a problem. We tend to need Adult supervision around here
Anyhoo, up caffinating and pondering the mysteries of life
Walked around the neighborhood this morning. Quite a few large branches and major portions of trees down. One live wire still waiting to be fixed (that part of the street was blocked off). A couple of street lights still out.
Have been to the grocery and the farmers’ market, had brunch (scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage, black raspberries).
I’m here and alive. We ran some errands this morning, and shortly after we got back, power went out for about 2 anna half hours. But it’s back on and all is well. We had a couple of little power burps overnight and early this morning, and a lot of branches down in the yard, but no appreciable damage. Poor guy next door has a big ol’ tree across his race-car-haulin’ trailer - it’s a closed trailer, and now the roof is smooshed in. And he hasn’t been able to do anything about it because he works for the electric co-op and he had to go into work today. Sucks to be him, I guess…
Amish corn is sweet corn that is sold by the Amish farmers hereabouts. I stopped at a little store between home and Leonardtown, but there are stands all over the county. And the corn was mega-yum!!
We’re threatened with another 100-ish day today. I don’t intend to venture forth unless absolutely necessary. Heck, it’s even too hot to crash swampy’s party. I lay in bed last night listening to the a/c churning well after sunset, and I could almost year the whine of the electric meter spinning…
Well, here I was sitting here enjoying a quiet, peaceful Saturday. I wasn’t really motivated to go anywhere, but I walked into the powder room and noted there wasn’t any TP. I checked the garage and my upstairs linen closet. Nope, no TP.
I am ashamed. I’m down to a roll in my bathroom and in my son’s bathroom.
Now I have to shower and make myself presentable for public viewing merely to go out and buy toilet paper.:smack:
I kind of got used to not having my son around. It took just my husband and I from August last year until my son got home in May to go through one of those huge Costco packs of TP. Since my son has been home, I’ve bought a ton of TP, it seems. I think I’m just going to gulp and go to Costco to the get the industrial sized pack again. That should last us, hopefully, through the time my son leaves for school again.
Taters always keep a roll on the tp hanger thingy, one sittin’ on the back of the terlet and one under the sink or other handy place in the bathroom. That way, when you realize you do not have three rolls in your bathroom, you go check stash. If there are less than twelve rolls in the stash, it’s time to buy more. Very easy system. I ain’t yellin’ cause you did realize before you were completely out.
I’m in from the pool. It’s hawt out! Dindin prep is underways. I’s gettin’ hongry.
Swampy, I usually keep on the roller, and four in a basket in the powder room.
Over the last few days, I noticed that every time I brought a roll into the bathroom it would disappear. I really thought I had more and it is a rare for me to be pretty much out. My son uses a A LOT of TP.
The festivities are over. A good time was had by all and I’m glad to see all their butts gone. I’s tahrd! I gotta say however that dindin was just over the top. Ribs, chikin, baked beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob, corn sallit, N.O.T sallit, marinated fresh asparagus aka spareguts, rolls (homemade by a wonderful friend who is good at homemade breads) and watermelon. Nobody left da cave hongry tonight.
StickyBuns I admire your sticktoitiveness re the paper. It does my heart good to know I don’t have to lecture.
Taters AIR your so is also known for exceedingly long showers. Long showers, uses lots of tp hmmmm… wonder if there’s a connection there. I shall leave that for mumpers to mull over.
Ok, I really am tahrd. I think I shall turn in. OOOH! Forgot sump’n. Tomorrow is brunch Sunday at the church house. I made extra corn sallit to take as well as two gallons of tea. That on top of everything else for today. I am such a good person. <insert angel smiley here>
Nah, the long showers have stopped. No, I think he just swaddles his hand in the stuff (like my husband) when they do more than make water.
I have to cook dinner and take it my MiL’s house tomorrow. She wants us and others over. Yes, she wants to host dinner but I have to cook it. I know she just got out of the hospital and all, but damn…
