A MMP for the last week of June

Day started off with idjit attempting to pass me on the left; as I was making a left  His right tires were to the left of double-yellow line. :smack: Local constabulary believes he knows who it is & where he irks & will be having a chat with British-style driver. With any luck, chat will involve excessive use of LEO’s baton!  :dubious:
At 90+°, the engine on my ve-hik-ule started overhittin on the way home from irk. Of course said engine is now sittin’ at Fancy Thinkin’ Box typing this post.

As soon as I got home, after one quick slow (I didn’t even stop) to get special interior cooling water from the fridge, I stepped into the shower & then turned on the water to commence exterior cooling. You know how cold the water is when you first turn it on?
You know
How
Good
It
Felt!!!

The special interior cooling water; it’s infused with hops & yeast & can also double as shampoo. What, you never heard of Body on Tap?

How did they come up with the idea for that shampoo anyway? My guess was the morning after a college kegger, when the keg, sans melted ice was still in the tub & guest wanted to shower. Finding no shampoo, but a keg behind them produced a moment of inspiration, along with the utterance, “well, why not?” Said guest graduated & then went to work for P&G or Unilever, or whatever company made it?

I hope things work out regarding the possible sale of your boat, FCM.

I will be going to work tomorrow on my RDO. I’m not happy about that, but I have to get caught up with some of my “regular” work and my data mining system has been screwed up all week. They’ve decided to fix it in phases, and last night’s phase didn’t bring in all the years I needed. Tonight’s phase is supposed to bring those in.

I also have a meeting to attend. That meeting was supposed to be today, but they wanted to reschedule it. I need to be there, because it concerns a business case analysis they want me to start working on now. Another short fused BCA…

As I’m the analyst responsible for pulling the numbers and making all the calculations that need to be done on it, I need to be there. I have issues with what they want to do, not the least of which is the category building they want to use to start this program.

I’m tired and am going to relax.

ex-aus-ted!!!
I’m not getting poked by mumpers alone. I’m getting poked by old college chums, too.

Come to think of it - with all this poking, shouldn’t I be in a better mood?

Unless you bruise easily.

Works for me.

alright. knock it off. I have to go to sleep now.

Poke.

Would poke but doesn’t wanna log in to FB.

Just got the work plan for the weekend. The work I have to do tomorrow, I have to do it at lunchtime (assuming the previous parts are done by then), so yeah I’ll be missing on seeing Bro and SiL and The Kidlettes, who happen to be in town, and then on Sunday they expect me to run everything I have to in two hours. As the saying goes “that will be a ‘no’”.

Blurf!

The sky is rumblin’ like swampy’s tummy before brekkie, which, of course, has OBL making noize downstairs. Pre dark-thirty thunderstorms should NOT be allowed!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 102 with a heat index of 110! Now that’s hawt!

MOOOOOOM appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for the boat sale.

Spidey using interior cooling water infused with hops and yeast as shampoo is a waste. Nay, it is an abomination. I have spoken. Tomorrow shall be a pool day so I expect to make use of much interior cooling water infused with hops and yeast.

Taters if ya need, I still have an industrial stapler and a full box of staples.

GROUP POKE!!!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. At least it’s Firday.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Trust me, I have too much respect for my neighbors to garden nekkid. Plus I burn so easily, there just ain’t enough sunblock in the county. Not to mention having enough problems dealing with skeeter bites on my legs…

I’m pretty sure **FCD **doesn’t want to sell the boat. He was getting all psyched up about re-doing the interior and eventually cruising to New England. On the other hand, we could replenish our savings after the well and landscaping depleted it. Still, he needs something to work on or he’ll make me crazy! One thing we did agree on - our asking price is firm. So it’ll depend on whether the guy who looks at it wants to take on a project, because it needs a lot done to it. I’ll find out in a few hours.

Today is supposed to be triple-digit hot. I’ve got to water the new seeds - keeping them from drying out will be a challenge. Beyond that, no idea what I’ll do today.

And speaking of last night’s supper, I used this recipe as a basis, but I changed a bunch. First off, I melted half of the butter called for in a large frying pan, then tossed in onions and mushrooms and sauteed. Then I added the other ingredients (but not the rest of the butter - it was just too much!!) plus some white wine - maybe half a cup? Once that was all blended and hot, I added a pound of shrimp, mixed it up, put on the lid, and let it cook for about 3 minutes. I mixed it again, gave it another minute to be sure the shrimps were cooked, then served it over pasta. I know dijon mustard isn’t a standard scampi ingredient, but it added a nice surprise flavor.

It does need more sauce, but I refuse to have a full cup of butter. I shall figure out how to deal with that. But it is a yummy recipe.

I think I need some caffeine… Happy Firday!!

So I take it you will not be using this product made by people who spent a few too many hours in the bars of Hippy Hollow? You can tell it’s from Hippy Hollow because it’s made from *craft *beer.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. 105 today.

Mawnin all,
Up caffinating and mildly annoyed at being up
That is all

JIM

Thanks for the info and idea, rosie! I will be in LA for four days, then San Jose for two days and the final eight days in SF although I’ve only sorted out accommodation for five of my eight days. I might take a sidetrip to Yosemite for a couple of days though, I haven’t planned that far yet.

I did just find out that a photographer friend is going to be in LA for the whole of September so he’s already offered to play chauffeur as he knows his way around and has a few ideas for places to go and stuff. I like that idea!

Yesterday we had the most amazingly torrential rain and thunderstorms, it was black as night around 10am and was so dark that the street lights reactivated themselves! There has been a lot of flood damage but it hasn’t stopped the olympic torch coming through tomorrow. The list of road closures and traffic disruptions is monumental so I will be staying at home. Well, why not? I have the makings of cocktails, and there are always zombie films to watch.

spazcat Body on Tap was (is?) a real shampoo, circa 1978. Hippy-hollow folks are just recycling it with fancy-shmancy ingredients.

swampy, when I sit in the chair at da barber, I hear “buzz” not “snip, snip” emanating from around & above ma irs; *one *swipe of the towel & it’s both dried & combed. I’m far too reverential to waste divine nectar with internal cooling powers. If you read the bottom of the above link, it is even recommended, so I ain’t a heathen.

Welp, it’s 95° at noon. I just got back from a quick run to the grocery store and I’m soooooooo glad my car has a/c. I got a lot of salad-like substances that will become supper, along with some Amish sweet corn. After I finish lunch, I’ll retreat to the kitchen to make some cucumber salad, some cole slaw, and I’m not sure what else.

I gave the grass seed a good soaking before 9 this morning, and I’ll run the sprinkler again as it nears sunset.

I haven’t heard a word from FCD, so I don’t know if the boat is sold or not. I’m guessing “not” since he’d have surely called otherwise. Guess I’ll find out when he gets home. I’m not going to bother him at work - he’s got enough crap to deal with there, poor baby.

The heat sucks. I am not amused.

Spidey I hear buzzin’ sounds at the barber too. Although I haven’t visited in a while and need to cause it’s hawt and my hair makes my haid hawt. That shampoo is/was just wrong. Good for Budweiser for not wantin’ their name associated with it although bad on ‘em for sellin’ beer for shampoo.

Spaz I shall check out that link when I’m at da cave. facebook is blocked at irk, which is strange cause irk has a facebook page. Go figure. I have to waste time here instead.

Happy Firday! We officially broke the 100 degree mark yesterday for the 62nd time in over 100 years. Northern Illinois should never get that hot. Had a big black storm pass through about an hour ago and it’s still raining which is good since we are officially in a drought. I don’t want to see the sun for many days.

Had leftover cake after lunch. YUM-O. Double YUM-O cuz it had whipped cream frosting instead of nasty store bought buttercream. But i think my tongue is blue from the fud coloring.

My reporter schmoozed someone to catch a ride on a golf cart today. There are days when luck shines upon us.
