gotti, UPS has a nasty habit of making our neighbours sign for our packages, despite the fact that I’ve complained about it several times (especially the one time said package has a brand-new and rather expensive Blackberry Pearl in it). I’m not the only one, either, as this has happened to a few of my friends as well. So might be worth checking with your closest neighbours to see if they were the lucky recipients of your RAM?
So my presentation has been presented. I think there are some bite marks in a couple of places from getting chewed out by one particularly rabid attendee. Also, everyone in the meeting made fun of my knitted coffee sleeve. Hmph.
See, unlike SOME people, I don’t like to use the disposable cardboard ones because it makes for extra litter, but I also don’t like burning my fingers on a naked cup because every damn coffee shop thinks that hot = good and serves their brew at 500C. Plus it was a present from a good friend, and it makes me giggle every time I see it because it’s pink and fuzzy.
I was hollering at the TV this morning. There was a news story about crooks doing bad things at grocery store ATMs and gas pumps to gather up account numbers with “skimmers” then suck money out of unsuspecting bank accounts.
The reporter said something like “Up to three dozen people had their identities stolen…” No you ignoramus! They did not have their identities stolen. They had their MONEY stolen. There is not enough information on an ATM card to do identity theft with.
And I’m also about Harvey Korman. I never missed the Carol Burnett show growing up; he and Tim Conway were just brilliant together. Along with everyone else, of course.
For all you Murkins who are slobbering over Cadbury’s: Did you know that in the US, it’s now made by Hershey’s? Go read the label and verify it for yourselves. Yuck! That’s why I don’t eat Cadbury’s any more, either. I go to Trader Joe’s and get something delicious and imported instead. Preferably dark. Or Lindt white chocolate truffles. I will join in the diseased yak orgy for Lindt white chocolate truffles!
A knitted coffee sleeve, eh? That’s a great idea! I shall have to knit up a couple for Papa Tigs and me. When we were in Idaho and we got coffee at the Hailey Coffee shop, the best coffee in the Wood River Valley (and, IMO, the entire state of Idaho, plus a couple of others – it was REALLY good coffee), they made us promise to recycle the sleeves before they’d give us any. So if I knit a coffee sleeve for snowbunny, she can go in there with it and make them very happy. Heck, maybe I could knit a bunch and put 'em there for sale to benefit a charity next time I’m in the area – I bet they’d jump at that! Pink and fuzzy, eh?
I slept myself out today, having felt like I was sleepwalking all day yesterday – seriously, Papa Tigs and I were conversing, and I found myself unable to think of anything I was trying to tell him. Names, places, whatever, it had just escaped from my mind. So lots of sleep definitely helped, and I may continue to indulge in yesterday’s case of the Ain’t Gonna Do Its again until I’m sure I feel human.

I just saw the thread about The Hobbit being okayed, and I’m excited. Ian McKellen to reprise Gandalf, and Del Toro directing? It sounds very good.

I can’t wait until Nat’s old enough to play with me in the kitchen. I will try not to be nervous about hot, sharp, and pointy. Especially since his dad is going to introduce him to controlled violence very young.
Back from the doctor, he changed antibiotics, and handed me a stack of prescriptions. Now, granted, one of them is for refills, and Chantix is for two different prescriptions because of the starter pack and continuing pack, but I left there with 5 prescriptions. This is going to mean that I’m now taking 7 different prescriptions, at least until the antibiotics are gone.

Also, I tried to figure out Medicaid today, because I age out of mommy and daddy’s insurance in November, and I am certainly low-income, but the lady at DHS told me it doesn’t work like that. I have got to figure out how Medicaid works.

I need some grammar help. Time was, I was a grammar nazi, but that’s gone with my waistline and my mind. It will happen to you too–and then I will laugh, so help me now, please.
If I write this: “So X’s version of [insert TV show or whathaveyou here] differs from your’s”–is there an apostrophe then “s” there or not? I cannot remember. I confess I have forgotten. If I start collecting dry cleaner bags, someone take me to the Illinois State Home for the Perpetually Bewildered, please.
And no, there’s no apostrophe in the sentence in question.
Green & Black is good. They usually have it in upscale grocery stores in the U.S. or in the regular grocery store if they have a fancy candy section. We just tried Scherfen Berger’s (sp??) over the weekend and LOOOOOVED it. I also like Chocolove a lot. KeithT likes Lindt. All of them with 70% chocolate, please.

I’m done with work stuff! YAY!!! Now I can go lounge at le pool, which I shall. It’s nice and sunny out. Humid, but not super hot, so it’s just right. I called ol’ y’all know who and he’s tryin’ to see if he can sneak off work early to come join me. Hope he can.
I’ve almost forgotten too, but I’m quite sure there’s not. That’s because your/yours are pronouns and with pronouns using an apostrophe s makes it a contraction rather than possessive.
But there is an exception, I understand, which is the word “one”, so if you’re talking about someone’s hat, the apostrophe is needed. But if the hat is hers, or his, or theirs . . . no apostrophe.
Somebody asked what yarn I used for the shawl/blanket. (Sorry I forgot who asked, and I’m about to leave work for my Friday afternoon off so I’m not going to take the time to go back and look!) It’s Lion Brand’s Homespun in the color Prairie. The Homespun stuff is great. It’s really soft and makes a really nice baby blanket. Or scarf. Or lap blanket. In other words, I like it a lot!
Our ship’s blog has a photo today of one of I’m sure hundreds of pallets of liquor being loaded on. They guy “supervising” looks more like he’s been testing the stuff a bit.

I woke up at 3. I’ve been up since then. ick. I did leave home early and I came home to help work on the basement. While helping to unload lumber, I got behind FCD and caught a couple of 2X4s in the arm, and it bled. Tomorrow it’ll be really purple. ick.
I had free lunch. Remind me to let the sales people chew me out more often. I quite liked the salad that came with my chicken breast - little matchsticks of green apple with some sliced apricots in a fruity yogurt sort of dressing. YUM!
Mama Tigs, there are TONS of patterns online if you need any tips on knitting a cup cozy. I seem to remember a nice button-up one from Crochet Me, but it seems to be gone now (no, wait… here it is!)

Ta for the grammar help–it looked funny to me, either way. It rained here for about 5 minutes, as it did about 2 hours ago, for about 5 minutes. These are heavy downpours and then Thor or whoever must get bored and turns off the faucet. Very weird weather.
I’m ever so slightly bored, but need a nap. Seems a good combination.

Stop, stop, stop with the chocolate talk! I am salivating here. Not for the white chocolate (which ISN’T chocolate), but for 70% to 85% dark chocolate. I’ve had Green and Black, it’s tasty. Dammit folks! I’m trying to be good here, but it’s damn hard when you talk about chocolate. Chocolate is my weakness. Also, no nuts in my chocolate please. Chocolate should be smoooooooooth.
Cadbury has definitely gone downhill since its acquisition by Hershey.
