A Mysterious Mowing MMP

donkeybear: Is there a 3rd party who could return it for you? Given that it’s been 2 years and your parting was not so friendly, I’d be inclined to recommend donating it if it’s still in OK shape.

Big congrats on the awards, FCM!

I work for the state and get annoyed when people stereotype government workers. I know there are corners of agencies where people don’t pull their own weight, but IME that’s true for private sector employees as well. I can tell you that in my department, we work work work work work and there’s always more to be done.

I will be joining in the Stealth Ninja Night Goats on the Les Paul guitar.

Went to a really interesting talk tonight at the park where I volunteer. Army guy who was stationed in Iraq and did lots of wildlife and plant observation and has worked to support Nature Iraq. He spoke just over an hour and there was nearly no fidgeting.

Went for a walk at 10 and it was still hot and humid. Ick.

Trying to be sleepy.

Hugs.

MOOM, that would be NAS KeyWest. Southernmost in conus. our region is southeast which jax is home base.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 96. Oh wait, it’s Summer!

donkeybear I’d wear the shirt. If he hasn’t wanted it after two years and won’t even talk to ya, he can’t be that attached to it. Also, I’m a shirtaholic so I’d wear it cause, hey, free shirt!

Stuffed I really don’t know if the boy’s out of jail. Turns out we did not do the couple hundred bucks for bail because that would have obligated us for a bond of around 5k as I understand it. That’s just a bit too much. His “criminal damage to property” turned out to be slashin’ tires in front of witnesses no less. :smack: Not real bright that one.

I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Blurf.

I got nuthin, 'cept maybe some sweat.

Since I am so musically untalented that I can’t carry an MP3 player in a plastic bag, can I run the mixing board?

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Been busy, glad I wasn’t motivated to work on Sunday.

Do we have any Florida MMP’ers? If I can get through today we’re headed that way for a bit. It’s St. Augustine so I can’t wait to see their grass.

Puggy doesn’t play here much anymore but she’s in the Orlando area which ain’t exactly near St. Augie lieu.

I kinda sorta told a little fib. I got asked if’n I go do a Sattidy thing for irk. I don’t want to so I said I had company comin’. I mean it is true that JDD and Partner and MOG will come over to hang at the pool and they don’t live with me. However, they’re more like family comin’ over and know they are welcome to use the pool whether or not OYKW or I are there. So it’s a kinda sorta fib but not really. I’d feel ashamed if I had any shame to spare.

Good morning folks! I’m up and at em early this morning. This is a busy week, today my mattress is coming (I’ve been sleeping on a sofa since moving here - ugh!) and last night I got a call from my brother (and sister-in-law) that they were in town and wanted to come see us today! This is the brother that lives the nearest to me now. Why he didn’t give me more notice, I don’t know! So they are coming before noon, which is when the mattress will be delivered. I haven’t seen him in a while (and to be honest, I’ve -never- met my sister-in-law, believe it or not), so I am happy they are visiting. I think he’s brought me a tv too. LOL

It has been HOT here and pretty much NO rain, to speak of. If we go out, we try to get out and back before noon; the afternoons are just too hot to be out in the sun. I’d rather have this, though, than high humidity any day. And that’s the truth!

Hope everyone has a good Hump day.

up and trying to decide to go to irk or call in sick. i do have a hangover, does that count? I will probably go but will be late. BLURF X 100.

Could I have a how you doin’? I could use a how you doin’. :stuck_out_tongue:

We have a work pot luck/bbq today too, FCM. Our VP decided that instead of trying to have one team picnic off-site sometime in the summer, which never works out for everyone what with vacations and people who need to, you know, work, we would have every other week bbq’s with a third of the team bringing food each time. So 4 of the 6 times, each person doesn’t have to bring food. And if you miss one, there are 5 others to make up for it. Seems like a good idea. Except for the person who has to be outside grilling today with highs predicted above 100 and a heat index around 113. It was 84 when I got to the gym this morning with a heat index of 89. At 6 a.m. Taters, I’ll trade you a few days of your weather for a few days of ours.

I think people stereotype government workers to make themselves feel better when they support cutting funding for various state or federal agencies. “Well, government workers don’t work hard anyway so it’s ok to cut their pay and/or lay them off” makes cuts seem less bad. Or at least that’s why I have heard people badmouthing government employees.

I don’t play an instrument, but I could sing in our band. (Backup… I am not a lead singer!)

How you doin’?

::gooses Taxi::

BBBobbio our resident gooser of ladies is always ready with a how you doin’.

Today’s project so far has been updatin’ our display board thingy. Mr. Swampington Bear has done another f-aaaaaa-bu-lous job! It has been met with approvin’ ooohs and ahhhhhs by everybody who walks by.

::gooses Swampy::

Hee! How you doin’?

Me? I’m vertical and ventilating…

I ate too much unhealthy food. We had a team bbq/pot luck, and it was all starches with no vegetables. I couldn’t stop eating the Fritos. Or the PB M&Ms. Why is it so hard to resist the unhealthy food?

So to make up for that and because I need to use up vegetables from the farmers’ market, I need ideas for beets and/or cauliflower. I have good recipes for both, but they generally involve roasting. And it’s about 900 degrees out so I don’t want to turn on the oven. I have a raw beet salad recipe, but I’ve made it too much recently and I’m really sick of it. I don’t really like cauliflower except roasted. I think I have a vegetable problem.

**lieu **- doggone you - why didn’t you come to StAug when I was living in Jax?? Obviously your priorities are all screwed up.

**FedEx **- OK, I vaguely recall you being in Key West. With luck, I won’t forget now. Oddly enough, my spousal unit and I were talking about going back there one day. It’s been at least 15, maybe 20 years since we were there last. Much snorkeling fun was had.

Yes, I’m home early. We did our going-away lunch for 4 of us. Two got other gov’t jobs, one is going to a contractor, and of course, I’ve got the best option. It was nice, but HOT! I’m glad to be home in the a/c.

That’s all I’ve got for now. 'Cept to say c’mon Firday!!!

Holy Jumping Beans it’s hot out.

I love hot weather and live for this kind of weather, so this is officially not a complaint.

I just know in some country somewhere in some solar system we’d be engaged after that. :stuck_out_tongue:

taxi the only suggestions I have for beets and cauliflower involve the garbage disposal.

I’s home earlyish too. I took off at two to come home and move outside stuff off the back porch and pool area cause tomorrow pressure washer man (who’s WOOF!) is comin’ to pressure wash da cave, driveway, pool area and out buildin’s. I got all hot and sweaty. Poor me!

Pickled beets? Mashed cauliflower? I dunno - I don’t eat much of either.

Meetings all morning and all our designs are apparently flawed in one way or another, so the PTB think. Grr.

I’m gonna go work on my yearly project, while my engineer regroups.
