A New Month in the MMP

I think we’re getting another cat.

I mentioned the post to Mrs. L.A. She emailed me today, asking whether we should adopt him. She’s actually made up her mind. Tonka took a week or two to warm up to Creamsicle. I’d hate for him to feel threatened by another cat in the house. He’d had a hard life before we adopted him, and I want him to know that a newcomer isn’t going to usurp his position.

Was very hot today.
I took a nap when we got back from the park.
I was surprised at how many dogs were there this afternoon, no surprise that there wasn’t much playing going on.
Ripple had a good time, but I didn’t have to ask twice if he was ready to go home.

There was a man handing out samples of dog treats at the park, with a 10% off coupon. He gave me two bags, and of course, Ripple is not interested.
If he had been handing out cat treats, Ripple loves those.

Howdy Y’all! Been a long and bzzy day! I laundered, made a bunch of chikin sallit sammiches (which got all et up), finished up spiffin’ da cave, and went over to the church house to a very large and in charge funeral and reception. The Committal (that does not look right, but apparently is right) was with full military honors. I got dust in my eyes. When we got back to da cave, the first thing that happened was showers, well, shower, since the shower is big enough for two people. Now 'tis chillax time.

spidey, there is a reason that I buy chawklit from the bulk bins at Sprout’s. I can get one or two pieces and not have the rest of the box calling my name from the pantry cupboard. :stuck_out_tongue:

{{{butters}}}

The maintenance guy was just here and cleaned the coils and filters on my AC unit. It’s now blowing really cold air. :slight_smile:

I began writing training docs at irk for new reconcilers. The one who just got promoted will be working graveyards on the weekends, a shift that I irked on for several years, so I know some of the references he will need. Given that we’ve only trained one new recruit in teh past 14 years and the old bat’s skillset is minimal, it will be up to my other cow-orker (who I trained) and me to train the guy with the promotion. We will likely be training another one within the next few months, since the old bat is looking at retirement. The other cow-orker is interviewing for an analyst position in our department, so that leaves me to do a lot of training.

I was off today. I laundered, went on a beer run, napped. Making Italian chicken with cheesy rice and grean beans.

((((**butters **))))

Johnny, you know you have to post pics of Kitty Kat once he’s at your home…

Lord have mercy ain’t this the truth.

I know many of you already know from Facebook but I lost my baby boy dog HRH Lucky Louie. It is a very sad place at my house right now. I actually went out with Hubs to dinner and I never go out.

I was not at irk most of yesterday so I had to play catch-up on first of month shit. I have a perpetual inventory excel workbook that some formulas were fubar. I sent it to the lady that created it at HQ asking her to fix it since I don’t know how. She wrote me back that she didn’t have time. Are you fucking kidding me. I am required by you, bitch, to use and submit the stupid sheet and you won’t take five minutes and fix it. So anyway, I fooled around with it til it was good enough and sent it on its merry way.

Then I spent the rest of the day paying vendors. We had sales of $143,000.00 plus and my mark up is 8-10% so a pile of bills to pay. I got most of it done. I am off Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday. I have decided I will go to irk with Hubs since it is too sad at home especially alone.

Y’all take care.

Butters, my condolences; he was an aptly named dog, mostly lucky that he had you as his person.

LA John, second on the pictures.

Drove through the Garden of the Gods here, never stopped, it was 85F and it’s just a lot of rocks. Then a thunderstorm shut most everything down for awhile. Thinking about white-water rafting tomorrow…

All y’all take care.

We haven’t decided yet, and Mrs. L.A. has gone to bed. The neighbourhood network requires you to log in to see content, and the four pics aren’t downloadable – except for this thumbnail, which I’ve uploaded to the link.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 77 Amurrkin out and clear (I’ll give TWPTB that since there is a teeny tiny bit of daylight out) with a predicted high of 97 and partly cloudy (mostly N.O.S.?) for the day. Today I shall lay in provisions. I shall go early in hopes of avoidin’ hoardes of folks stockpilin’ whatever it is they need for tomorrow’s doin’s. Actually don’t need much stuff by way of weekly provisions but do need to get some good buns for bbq sammiches. I have pulled poke, ribs, and chikin thawin’ out in da fridge. I shall set all of it out to thaw a little later today. I need to make coleslaw as well. Other sides and assorted munchies are bein’ provided by others. Oh, and yeah, make a beer run. Ten people shall be showin’ up to festivate tomorrow and everyone brings their own adult beverages. Should be fun. TWPTB say a forty percent chance of afternoon rain/tstorms/apocalypse tomorrow. We shall see. Oh, and I need to go over to the church house and haul the biiiiiiiiiiig trash cans down to where they stay for pickup. Tomorrow bein’ a holiday that won’t happen until Firday but I ain’t goin’ over there tomorrow, so it shall be today.

{{{Butters}}} again, I am so sorry about HRH Lucky Louie. As MetalMouse said, he was indeed very lucky to have you as his hyoooman.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alack, alas, and bother, I must purtify and don appropriate goin’ about the public attire.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

{{{Butters}}} - those little critters do worm their way into our hearts, don’t they?

It’s now the last day of my work week - two grueling days in a row!!! The very idea!!!

:smiley:

I definitely think I’m ready to retire at the end of the year. Honestly, the main reason I won’t bolt now is the pile of stuff on my desk that needs to be done. They need me. Plus I do like this job. Mostly. :wink:

Today, I’ll do a bunch of Josh’s revisions - they should be pretty quick and I can empty my top basket. Onward!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

We must have had a bit of a storm last night, my clothesline was blown over and everything looks wet.
I guess I slept through it.

I wouldn’t have slept through the yelling outside though. Wasn’t the people next door this time, was somebody across the street. I think the same ones that had the police out the other night.

It’s a cloudy 75 degrees now, supposed to get up to 90 later and rain.

Going to get a little yard irk done before logging in to irk.

{{{Butters}}} I am so sorry about Louie.

{Butters}

Who are you, Sir Mix-A-Lot???

By turning it over above the round basket?
Plans has changed, instead of diet (lo-cal) fireirks & a bit of good ol’ fashioned Americana (Soap box derby) tomorrow, we’re instead going to Nathan’s & watch the really, really, big Macy’s fireirks. Iffn you watch them on NBC, look for me, I’ll wave.

I got into the spirit for tomorrow morning’s gluttonous feastivities by eating 15 or so hot dogs last night; of course they were only cocktail sized ones. Seriously, they’ll eat more dogs in one sitting tomorrow than I do in a year.

I got one of those the day after I visited the SSA last week; I calmly explained that “we Amish don’t register with SS - we are exempt on religious grounds”.

The Indian (dot not feather) seemed confused but actually believed me in the end. :smiley:

{{{{{BUTTERS}}}}}
In honor of the holiday tomorrow I am working a double and shall
BE
REVOLTING
I am told I am pretty good at that.

Sgt (running into captain’s office): Captain, Captain, the troops are revolting!!!
Cptn: Well, you’re pretty disgusting yourself, sergeant.
Oh, the humanity! :eek:
My sincerest condolences, {{{Doggio}}}! :frowning: :o

You revolting Russians have been in John Oliver’s show. I’m not sure if it’s weird or a sign of the times that I watch more TV in YouTube (or, as my brother used to call it, yutubí) than in actual TV. And some of the TV I watch in YouTube is from channels to whose Spanish service I’m subscribed, but material the Spanish service does not include.

{{Butters}}

Actually made it into the sea today, albeit briefly 'cos the tide was coming in fast and I didn’t want all my stuff to get wet. Bit chilly, but not bad, as it’s all sunny and warm today.

Re: Kitty Kat.

The poster says he may have found a forever home for the cat he rescued. He’s going to try him out there to see if he meshes with the other two cats. He’ll keep Mrs. L.A. in mind if it doesn’t work out. We left a message with our vet to find out how much she’d charge for the tooth extractions. It was $400 at another vet, and that would hurt because of the failing TV and an insurance bill. Still, we’d make it work. The vet’s office is closed until Monday. We just don’t know if Tonka would accept him. I hope it works out with the other people.
