Johnny, whether you get him or not, he’s a nice looking cat.
I’m off irk until Monday. Yessssssss!
My big plans include trying to shake the caugh from the allergies, sleeping, getting some new flowers to replace the marigolds that are done, reading and hanging with the heathens Sunday. The little heathens will have a Curious George book read to them and make monkey masks.
Tonight, I may go outside to watch the fireworks from the big park down the street. One of the perks of living where I do is the view of the air show and fireworks from home, where I don’t have to park in BFE, be in large crowds and have the priviledge of paying $4 for a bottle or H2O (no outside food and beverages at the park during these shows) and partake of an adult beverage or three. As well as Nelson handled the air show, I’m hoping that he takes fireworks in stride too.
I feel like a Norse God (Thor all over, or else like Loki after the Hulk pounded him). Saw Royal Gorge (decided against rafting and it was probably a good call, the water is hoigh and fast they tell me and class IV rapids are now Class V–which is bad) and then drove to Cripple Creek, where casino gambling is allowed. Was tempted, but in the end rode a steam train instead and got my money’s worth. Then the Florissant Fossil Beds, not as interesting as I thought.
LA John, hope the cat finds a good home, be it with you or others. And if you need some help on his bill, y’all let me know.
So Ruble, you telling me you aim to misbehave?
All y’all take care. Walking several miles at 6,000-9,500 feet above sea level wears you down pretty fast. Off to Rapid City on the morrow.
I got scolded by my answering machine this morning for not making an appointment with the eye doctor(s) yet. I was actually quite impressed. The woman who made the recording put (almost) just the right amount of finger wagging into her voice. Trouble is, the dentist put such a whuppin on my bank account these last two months that I didn’t hve any money left to go to the eye doctor.
Now i gotta go pick up Wifey’s prescription. There’s a long dramatic story there, but I ain’t gonna tell it.
Gee folks. Thank you for all the hugs. I still can’t believe he is gone. Our cat Scooter is looking for him. She is 9 yrs old and he was always here her entire life. They loved each other.
I also am off until Moanday. I am not sure how I feel about it. We are incredibly busy at irk. Record breaking sales. The office is open only a half day on Firday and Saturday so they will probably be OK without my help. We’re closed tomorrow. Depending how I feel I may go in on Firday just because.
Happy 4th all.
Nice kitty JohnnyLA. I hope you get him. Tonka accepted Creamsicle and he will accept this one.
Howdy Y’all! Everything is in place for tomorrow’s festivities. Tomorrow various meats shall warm up in slow cookers whilst quality cee-mint pond time has had. We shall eat, we shall drink, we shall make merry. Hopefully everyone will also be go by around sixish tomorrow evenin’. I do so love company, both comin’ and goin’.
It’s another nice sunny day here, it appears summer has finally arrived. Sadly, the screaming hordes of tourists will shortly follow- one downside to living in a pretty area. I kind of want to go out and make the most of the day, but I also need to defilthify the flat, and I’m basically compromising by doing neither and just playing around on the computer.
We actually get a pretty good mix of tourists from all over, I’m seeing a lot of Dutch and German numberplates around at the moment, though most of them are British, yeah.
As a general guide, they’re marginally more sensible while over here; I think there’s a swathe of the population who kinda consider everything over the channel to not be real. It’s an imaginary dreamland where rules don’t apply, the locals don’t count and what they do doesn’t matter. They’re still idiots in this country, but at least they believe it really exists.
That happens in Spain as well: stuff outside our borders seems on one hand like “we know it” because we’ve seen it on TV, but at the same time it might all suffer from a case of Here Be Dragons. One of the best lines I’ve heard about it was a mother and daughter who were talking about a trip the daughter was about to take to France; I don’t remember exactly what did the mother say but the exasperated daughter replied “it’s a whole country Mom, it’s not all Disneyland Paris!”
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 96 and who knows what will happen accordin’ to TWPTB. Forecast says forty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. This could mean all afternoon or a late afternoon storm which lasts for ten minutes. Summer weather in southwest Jawja be weird. Folks will start showin’ up around elevenish for cee-mint pond festivities. We’ll have munchies out there. I envision big eats around fourish and everyone gone around sixish. Oh and I imagine all sorts of KA*BOOM this evenin’. There were some last night but it all stopped before ten o’clock. Hopefully the same will happen tonight.
OK, now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify, get various animal flesh into slow cookers, and become the smilin’ host with the most.
I woke before 6, got up at 7, I wanted to sleep in today.
Didn’t happen.
It looks cloudy outside, I have no idea what the weather will be. I left my phone upstairs and can’t check the weather. I suspended directv and since it has been over a month I think it is safe to cancel it. I still have my TVs. Thinking about getting rid of them. I have a firestick for each of them. The one in the living room seldom gets used, but I do use the one in the bedroom.
We’ll be heading for the armpit around 11ish.
My mother wants to get rid of her love seat, I need a new couch, however her love seat will clash with my rug, so I don’t know if I want it. My rug is an oriental style, black with cream and beige. Her love seat is a green and white. It would be cheaper to buy a new rug than to buy a loveseat/couch, and I could put the rug in my bedroom.
Getting it loaded into the truck would be easy, getting it out of the truck and into the house would not.
I think about getting black furniture, then I think about dog and cat hair and maybe not. Then I’ll need new curtains, because my curtains are blue.
It’s something to think about, like I don’t already have enough thoughts crowding my brain.
I just checked the forecast and it looks like rain up around my mom’s. Her invitation was “weather permitting” so I don’t know if it’s on or not… waiting to hear back from my sister.
Speaking of which someone around me decided to set off a couple quarter-sticks around 1am. If I find out exactly who it was I am going to follow up with my 3 pounder. You want to set off car alarms? Son, don’t teach your grampap how to suck eggs.
Happy Independence Day! to the American Mumpers. Happy hot summer day to the rest of y’all.
nut, the Nashville area is awash in tourists year round. Some of them are well behaved and others just get drunk and stupid.
sari, you have a third option: slipcover the love seat.
I plan on spending most of the day reading, napping and maybe a tirp to the dog park. I’ve been invited to my niece’s for a cookout around six, but I don’t know if I’ll go. It’s a fifty mile trip up there and I’m still feeling a little puny.
Most of the suburbs scheduled fireworks for last night so’s not to compete with the big ones in Nashville. However, here in my town and a couple of others, we got hit with big thunderboomers at start time, so they were postponed until this evening.
