A Picture MMP {My First MMP}

Are you saying that this impacts on you in a bad way?

(I hate that)

**MamaTigs ** - tell me this isn’t Congressional drivelization!!

it seems rigs and I are the only ones palying “describe it in three words”. Y’all should come over and play, too.

I’m back.

Wow, FCM, all of your new pieces are great!! I love them all, esp. the penguin, but the very last piece, the blue one with the white drip - I am in lust with that one!! The holiday arrangements all look great too. Woo hoo!

For some of us, it’s that time of year for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which I usually participate in. This time, they are putting up personal stories on the agency in-house web page, and I sent in a “my story” about a month ago. They contacted me, and came to take pictures last week, so I’ll be up there on the web some time soon, I think. I was kind of anxious about having my picture taken (LOL) but hopefully it will turn out okay. At least it won’t be on the public web page!!! On a more serious note, most of the personal stories have been very moving, and most involve how the teller or their family was helped by one (or more) of the CFC charities. The great things about the CFC is that it allows for a wide variety of choices, you can contribute via payroll deduction, and they also give you enough information about the charities that you can make a really informed choice. [/ad for charitable donation.]

Heh, I didn’t mean to go on for so long about that, sorry!

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

Where’s the pie?

Why am I still up? It’s after two in the morning!

Good morning! Up and caffeinating. The dogs were hungry early today. <sigh>

Not much planned today, except the standard grocery shopping trip. I tell you what, I sure could get used to this vacation stuff! I love being off work. (Duh!) I’m gonna make a big ol’ pot of vegetable beef soup and some cornbread muffins for dinner. It’s been so wet and chilly that I think it will hit the spot!

Also up and caffeinating - I should have gotten up earlier since tomorrow I need to be back in my butt-crack-of-dawn arising routine, but it was so comfy and warm… It’s looking mighty dreary out there - grey and overcast - but it’s not supposed to rain till tomorrow, so I should be able to get a start on de-leafing the yard.

When I was coming thru the dining room to let the insane canines out, I saw Miss Brandy sitting beside an open hutch door. I have no idea why she’d open it - there’s nothing in there but CD cases. Idiot cat.

Other than some yard work, I don’t have much planned for today. I may toss a load of dirties in the washer, and I’m thinking about making a couple more punkin’ pies since, apparently, “the cat” ate all the rest of the pie in the house. At least it has the bonus of warming up the house, so there’s that! (Is that a weak excuse to bake or what?)

Plus I need to craft tomorrow’s MMP and come up with a clever title. That’s a lot of pressure so early in the day. Especially with a cat butt blocking the screen so I can only see half of what I’m saying. Idiot feline…

Anyway, a Happy Sunday to one and all. Stay safe and/or warm as is applicable.

Incidentally, those in the know know that today is the birth anniversary of the legendary, long-absent originator of the MMP. And if my fading memory and math haven’t failed me, he’s 40 today.

Happy Birthday, Rue! You may be gone from the Boards, but you’re not entirely forgotten.

Mooooom - add me to the “penguin and big blue bowl” camp. The festive pots are pretty too, and will probably sell very well. When’s the crafts fair?

Happy Birthday, Rue!!

I’m up. Need to go do some garden clean-up at church and then come back here and do same. I think tomorrow is the last yard waste pick-up till March… Argghhhhh.

GT

Up, fed caffeinated and getting ready to meet people to tailgate for the game.

I was in charge of food/drink procurement this week. 24 burgers, 16 dogs, all with appropriate buns, condiments, chips/salsa, 3 cases of beer, some gatorade/pop, and cookies for dessert.

For seven adults and two teenage boys.

Happy birthday, Rue!

Well, two teenage boys can take care of most of the food all by themselves, BusDude, if my past experience with Young Tiger is any indication. Just make sure to hog the beer.

Morning, all. I got up a while ago to discover poor Papa Tigs on the phone. Problems, problems, problems. He’s been on the phone all morning, apparently. Hardware problems, people problems, you name it. Poor guy, doesn’t even get a whole weekend off. :frowning:

That wasn’t congressional drivelization this time, FCM. Or even representatives conversating. Nope, it was an “investigative interview.” Now, wouldn’t it seem fairly obvious to you that if you’re trying to get information from another person, it would help if you occasionally *shut the (&#%@ up and let them talk? I swear, this guy didn’t let the witness complete a sentence. Drove me nuts; I can only imagine how much the witness loved it.

I’m off to caffeinate some more. (See, some made-up words are good!) And on to do something constructive. Or not, as the spirit moves me.

**rosie ** - the fair is Sat Dec 1. It’s short and sweet - just 10-2 - and it’s indoors, which is nice in this weather. When we were coming back from breakfast this morning, we stopped and got a “snow” blanket that I’ll use on my table, along with the Christmas table cloth. I also got some mini candy canes to decorate with and give away.

Dishwasher is loaded and running. I just put 2 punkin’ pies in the oven. Once they’re done, I’ll head out to attack the leaves. **FCD ** ran to the Wawa to get gas for the mower and mulcher - one less chore for me. I just need to don old sneaks and maybe some ear plugs - the engines are LOUD! Just a few hours, and our yard should look less leafy, although there are still plenty of leaves overhead. This will just be phase one of leaf removal.

Whew - it stinks in here - I guess I shoulda cleaned up the spilled punkin’ from the last pies… Obviously, the Oven Fairy doesn’t work this neighborhood. Stoopit Oven Fairy. :stuck_out_tongue:

**MamaTigs ** - I’ve noticed people doing that in lots of situations - supposedly trying to gather information, but spouting off so much, the informer can’t get a word in edgewise. My sweetie had a job interview like that once - the hiring manager was more interested in talking than hearing about his qualifications and experience. That would drive me nuts! Good thing I don’t worry about interviews, being on the brink of retirement and all that.

Off to start tomorrow’s MMP - I changed my mind, and I like what I’m planning better than the last idea. Go me!

Alrighty, then - the pies are done, the MMP is done, and I’m off to mulch. Back later.

Don’t fight.

Keep your shoes off the good furniture.

Use a coaster.

Don’t tease the cats.

TTFN!!

Good morning everyone! I’m up and waiting for the coffeemaker to finsih brewing.

FCM, your pottery was very nice. The penguin was cute.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUE, WHEREVER YOU ARE!

Nothing much special is going on in** Tatersland** today. The trip to the salon for my daughter was successful and her hair looks very cute. After that, it was a trip to the Fred Meyer to buy a coffeemaker. I debated going to the mall or Best Buy, but thought both o those places would be total madhouses.

I bought a coffeemaker, not the brand I really wanted, but, at least this coffeemaker won’t shutoff on us, or worse yet, give up the ghost while trying to brew the coffee.

Crap! I do need to go to the grocery store today; I forgot all about that. I’m turkied out and want something different for dinner. I’m thinking beef of some kind.

Oh well, other than that, and some laundry (which never ends), that should be it.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all!

I was a slug yesterday and lazed around most of the day. Ran out about 4ish to Wally world and teh grocery store then had pizza for dinner and was in bed early last night after I caught up on Ugly Betty episodes I had DVR’d.

I am full of energy so I am going to do chores including (but not limited to) scrub my bathroom and the other bathroom, loads and loads of laundry, change bed sheets, vacuum other half of house, make lasagne, dust my bedroom, put away new clothes, begin to sort out old clothes for Goodwill as my closets are getting out of hand, look for laptop on-line for Dad.

I will let you know how I did. But first I must caffienate and eat breakfast!

Laters!

Ooooh, I think commenting on the pottery is one of the things I forgot to do yesterday. Add me to the list of penguin admirers, FCM. Loved the rest as well. I thought the messages in the bottom of the pet dishes were really cute, too.

Do you at least get the day off today, doggio?

I decided to turn my schedule around and go to the art museum first. Now I’m contemplating a trip to Wild Oats and to the craft museum before getting serious in various gardens.

Back after a bit…

GT

I visited my mom on Friday. It went fairly well, all things considered. The biggest change is me, so most of her digs went over like lead balloons. She stopped doing it when she realized she wasn’t getting a reaction. Yay me! So we actually had a pleasant visit. My stated goal was pictures, so we tore the house apart looking for pictures. Under the bed, down in the garage, up in the attic, and all over the house. Once I get my scanner working, I’ll post some. In particular, I think you all would be amused by the illustrated story of The Dog That Pulled Over A Tree.

I got caught up on all the family gossip. Apparently, my uncle, who has colon cancer and only has 4 years to live, has taken dying as an excuse to let loose his inner a-hole. He has: taken to screwing around with girls his daughter’s age, re-wrote his will to leave everything to his sisters, completely leaving out **all **of his children, not just the illegitimate ones, and assaulted his youngest son (12) and consequently lost his pension and benefits, because he refuses to get psychological help. Did I mention that he’s a cop?

My grandfather, always something of a tightwad, has been giving money away like it’s water. I guess he’s finally realized he can’t take it with him.

My mother is deeply concerned about my liver problem. Primarily, she’s concerned about the possibility that I’ll never be able to drink again, because to her, that would be the worst thing EVAR. Bless her heart.

And finally, my brother called while I was still there. It seems he’s no longer homeless. His girlfriend and 2 of her co-workers got an apartment, so he’s moving in with them. So my brother, who will be 30 in April, is being supported by his 22 year old girlfriend who works at Subway. I am SO proud of him. Doesn’t it just bring a tear to your eye? I imagine my mother will be a grandmother soon, judging by my brother’s excellent life choices so far. On the other hand, maybe his girlfriend will throw his lazy ass out the first time he hits her (because he **will **hit her, if he hasn’t already) and call the cops on his ass. One can only hope. Of course, I actually hope for a complete transformation from spoiled brat to a grown man, but one has to be realistic.

After all that, I had to come home and rest. Good grief! I am a paragon of health and reason compared to all that. There was more personal stuff that came up, too, which was the real reason I spent yesterday in bed. I’m feeling much better today, although I’m wondering if Christmas might be too soon to go back. I have a month to decide.
