Taters I was having severe nausea problems earlier this month, cuz of starting Paxil. I found if you don’t eat you just get worse and worse, but of course nothing sounds good. Anything that was even a bit greasy was just horrid, but broccoli worked like a charm. I just ate a little anytime I started feeling queasy. Otherwise the BRAT diet is always good.
Yeah, tried toast and a banana yesterday and couldn’t keep either down. Nothing was staying down after about 3:30 yesterday. It well and truly sucked.
I’m feeling much better today, even the residual headache has faded. Thank goodness. Weird as it sounds, when I’m feeling oogy, I like soft boiled eggs chopped up on toast. In fact, I’m thinking of making some right now, just to slowly bring my tummy back to normal.
I’ve eaten a banana today and it stayed down.
The kitchen has been cleaned. I need to get in the shower and get myself cleaned up, but I’m just kind of taking it easy until we have to leave today.
I am FREE for a day (until Monday). I wasn’t pleased when I got to work at 0615 to find that nobody had bothered to tell me that the first case wasn’t until 10AM, so I didn’t need to be there until 0800. Saturday cases usually start at 0730…
But I lucked out in that 2 of the 3 cases called and canceled theirownselves! Seems one pt has to go out of town and the other has a fever. Too bad, so sad; they’ll have to be rescheduled. Yay!
Sun is out here and it (finally) warmed up a bit–it’s 27. It’s been bitter the past few days.
I envy all you snow stormers your storm. I love snow/thunder/lightning storms. Heck, I just loves me some storms. Must be the Drama Queen in me.
Off to NapLand soon. I needs me some beauty sleep. Lemme put it this way: Snow White lives.
I’ve been coiffed, had a makeover, bought new jewelry, and now I am petrified.
Go rosie, go!!! I’m sure you’ll have a good time once you get there.
Meatloaf was yum. It was also inhaled. The kids had a friend stay over and he has a healthy appetite. I also understand he can’t always afford to eat well, so my maternal instincts made sure we had plenty on the table. They’re doing dishes now.
Our area has gotten between 10" and a foot, and we could get 2-3" more before it ends. rah.
I’ve got an evening of knitting ahead. And chilling. Which means tomorrow, I’ll have to do my studio chores. And purge my closet. That’s tomorrow. Not tonight. So there.
Have fun, rosie! And behave. We don’t need to see you on YouTube doing the hoochie-coochie dance in some sleezy dive…
Silly rosie, don’t worry! (Am I the one who has to say it?) Just be yourself. Really.
I’ve done about 5 loads of laundry, organized a bunch of pictures on flickr, and am in the middle of cleaning out the linen closet.
Bread pudding turned out yum.
Also, I’ve made taxi’s Asian noodles. Also yum.
Back later.

Well, that was fun. I took the dogs out. I was trying to shovel some pee space and I slipped. The snow was very soft and exceedingly cold. I am now in a warm, dry sweatsuit.
Stoopit snow.
I am sitting here nursing a Toasted Almond and trying very hard not to freak out.
Well, at least the landing was soft, right FCM?
I’ve managed to shower, so I guess I should go dry my hair with the blow dryer. I hate doing that; it takes forever.
I thought you had mis-typed and meant “purtified” and then I realized you were out Meeting Men, you shameless hussy! If you do something I wouldn’t, please tell me all about it later, kay? thanks.
I tried to nap but could not. Got a terrible email from a dear, dear friend–she has a blighted ovum and the doctor gave her meds to induce a miscarriage.
I am so tired I am floating and things seem surreal. Who needs drugs? Just get 2 jobs! In other news, I did that celebrity lookalike thing on FB and I ran the gamut of Asian chicks (wtf?) to Elizabeth Hurley (huh?), Paula Dean(that one hurts) and some Middle Eastern dude–complete with full mustache! Um, sure thing.
Hi guys! I’ve “friend requested” several of you, because I finally joined the evil FB. Forgive me if I didn’t announce my name. I’m sure you’ll figger it out.
We had some very good chicken/sausage/shrimp gumbo for dinner, and I’m stuffed to the gills.
Take care all of you, especially {{{Dotty}}}! That’s a long trip!
{{{Hugs}}} for your friend, Rigs.
Glad you didn’t hurt anything Mom.
Off to play on FB and elsewhere!
Would you believe it’s STILL SNOWING?!?!?!? I just took Scruffy out (managed not to fall this time) and I was dismayed to see flakes still falling at a good clip. A plow has been up and down our street 4 times, and while I was just out, it seemed to have gotten stuck on the road that goes along the side of our yard. But then it got moving, so maybe he was just adjusting his plow or something.
SIL kindly volunteered to find the bobcat guy in the morning. He’s pretty free with my money, ya know? He’ll still have to dig out the van and daughter’s car, tho.
We just watched The Dark Crystal because TV sucks. We’ve got 8 HBO channels and they just keep playing the same 6 movies over and over. I’m thinking of dropping it. We’ll see what **FCD **says - he’s the movie junkie.
I think it’s time to crawl under the covers. I’s tahred. Stoopit snow.
We’ll want a detailed report, of course, rosie.
Sorry about your friend, rigs.
So, my towels all have designated drawers and all of the sheets are moving into the bedroom closet (there’s an odd shelf that’s not all that useful. Storing sheets there seems practical.
Envy me my exciting Saturday night.
Oh, God,** GT**. Go into that Interesting Past Threads thread and read about The Mad Wiper… You’ll never look at your bathroom towels the same.
*FCM, I haven’t had even basic cable for several months. It helps that I watch very few shows regularly and they’re all online anyway. Why pay for extra channels that suck?
Everybody who is getting snow and isn’t used to it, be careful out there. The rest of us will try not to laugh – especially since this is only my third Real Winter and I actually know what it’s like being somewhere where nobody is ready for it. It makes such a difference when people expect it and are used to dealing with it, though, I had no idea. Though I miss the rare and wonderful Snow Day. No such thing here, really.
Home & sober - no Carribbean Condos this time either.
There were three comics - the emcee, the opening act, and the headliner. The funniest one was the opening act - Tom D’addario (or something close to that - he’s got a DVD out - very funny guy.
Friend A and her bf D showed up shortly after I posted, so we got our table. Date B showed up shortly after that. We drank, we laughed, the smell of plastic burning wafted in from the kitchen and smoke billowed into the club room during the headliner’s set, the mens’ room had been set on fire (I’m guessing from someone sneaking a cig without stepping into the chilly windy night), a dozen people grabbed their coats and ran out, a waitress said everything was under control, a heckler nearly got himself beat up by the people he was sitting with (“C’mon man - we paid to see Comic, not you!”), after the show, we went to a diner for coffee and dessert, I drove B home, and here I am. I’ve made a friend. I have no idea whether or not it will turn romantic. Way too early to tell. I am going to tend to my farm, fish tank, café, and hospital, and then go to sleep.
::covers ears and sings “La La La La La”::
I don’t have cable TV either, FCM. I never watch broadcast TV, but watch all kinds of stuff online. Currently watching Bones. Mr. Nigel Murry cracks me up.
Should be asleep…why am I so awake?
Guess I should give it a try.

So, is his name Perseus, rosie? We’ll accept Percy too.
There was a fire alarm at 11:30pm. I hate people. I want to go back to The World Without Fire Alarms!
If it was up to me, I’d survive with just basic cable, except that HGTV and the Comedy Channel are on the expanded list, so I’d probably get that. But I’m married to a TV addict - he has an overdeveloped clicker finger and he’s not afraid to use it! I got the HBO for him because they were running a deal, and it wasn’t too expensive anyway. Then they raised the monthly cost by $6 and continued to run crappy old movies.
But we’re still working and $20 per month won’t cut into our lifestyle. Heck, it won’t even fill my car!
The snow has stopped, the sky is clear, the moon is reflecting off acres of white, and it’s 12 frikkin’ US degrees out there!! Scruffy has been out, Bernie is still snoozing. I cleared a small area for them to do their thing, but I’ll need to shovel out more later today.
Have I mentioned that I hate snow??
I won’t be surprised if daughter’s school is closed tomorrow. That county is terrible about clearing roads, and much of the population still lives along dirt roads. Plus Tues and Weds are teacher work days, so the kids are off anyway.
We, on the other hand, will have work. In fact, the poor enlisted folks will be forced to show up today and shovel the walks and clear the parking lot. But they’re young - they can deal. It’s all part of being junior in the military - crap jobs. Been there, done that.
Good morning, Happy Sunday, and I still hate snow…
