It’s still gray and gloomy here; I have no idea if it’ll rain again or not. But at least Isaac isn’t lying under my feet optimistically with a toy close at hand, waiting for me to go outside and throw the toy for him. Apparently Papa Tigs totally wore the Idiots out; they’ve both been snoring and/or twitching in their dreams all day. It’s a rough life, being a dog in this house!
I’m just trying to get the last little bit of this transcript done, and it’s a real struggle. I’ll be taking tomorrow off to take Papa Tigs for his neck injection, so I have to get this thing done today. I’d rather be knitting, though. I’ve started a new project, a pretty scarf called Streaming Leaves, using a luscious wool I got from Blackberry Ridge Woolen Mill – it’s a soft blue, and the yarn has a really unusual feel to it. Apparently their spinning process is extra-good because it’s a really great yarn, and the prices are certainly excellent for the quality and quantity. It’s frustrating to have to work when I don’t wanna! Waaah!
For those with too much time, and an interest in the worst fanfic I’ve ever read, there it is. Attacks Husband read it to us last night. It’s Harry Potter goth slash by an impoverished twelve-year-old who can’t spell. It’s hilarious.
I love that she tries to ‘steak’ herself. There’s a bit in one of the Bunnicuka books where they roll the vampire bunny in a sirloin. I always think of that when someone misuses ‘steak/stake’.
Hem done. Back achy. Tired of sewing, but I can’t quit yet. Bummer.
I need to cut up all of the straps and sew them in pairs to the cover. Plus there’s the zipper. And the collar. So much for any clay play today… <sigh>
Hey, ,FCM, if I can spend all my free time knitting for the craft show, the least you can do is get your clay stuff ready! <slings guilt with wild abandon>
Howdy Y’all! Hope everyone’s havin’ a fun afternoon/evenin’/sometime tomorrow. Ok, I know Moooooom and BioTigs ain’t havin’ fun. Well, here’s hopin’ the tasks are done soon then.
Lunch today was wunnerful if’n I do say so myself. Everyone left happy and full. The dishwasher is all loaded and will be turned on before I go to beddy bye. I prefer to let it run at night for some strange reason or other. I think it has to do with me believin’ it’s more energy conscious to run dishwashers at night although I don’t know if’n that’s really true or not.
Oh and I’ve had several bloody Mary’s and have a nice buzz goin’ right now. Too bad ACBG ain’t here for me to pounce. Le Sigh.
Taters do tell Mr. Taters that I am glad to be a source of entertainment for him. Here’s hopin’ the fact that I did not feel the need to return the oh so urgent message left on my TAD (that’s my little nickname for my answering machine…Telephone Answering Device) gives ‘em a clue as to the state of my shit givin’ about anything goin’ on there.
Ok, maybe I should go do sump’n. Or not. I got a buzz and I’m happy!
I quit. Next step is zipper installation, and I’m just too frazzled to do it correctly. So I quit. Second load of laundry is washing, first is drying, and some fresh Mennonite corn is steaming. I knew it was Mennonite and not Amish because it came out of a truck, not a wagon, and the guy didn’t have a beard. We’ll see how it tastes.
We had a mystery today. We went to scoop the cat box and I couldn’t find the scooper. **FCD ** insisted it was where it has always been, but it wasn’t. Finally, we found it behind the radial arm table, about 6 feet from the cat box. Weird. But the doo has been scooped, and all is right with the world.
Well, except that there’s no ice cream in the house.
OK…rosie, where do you find that stuff? The lip balm is…ick. And Miss Teen South Carolina. Well…there are no words. Really. Kinda reminded me of the sermon I heard in Germany once, where the priest decided we should pray for the poor children of Scandinavia. He at least had the excuse that he was a bit intoxicated.
The fanfic was awful too, LiLi.
Sorry about your kid’s laptop, FCM. Might be cheaper to get her a new one, if it comes to that. I’ve been looking for a Windows laptop to replace my desktop and there are some very good deals out there.
Houseguests are gone and I’m ready for a nap. I got to see part of Daddy Daycare and The Love Bug. Also got to see the little brother run a 1/2 marathon. He won his age bracket, which was nice.
I’m ready for bed already. Some people wore me out. I don’t know how moms do it.
If I don’t make it back here tonight, I’ll see everyone in the next MMP. Why is it almost Monday?
Nothing much to say… in fact, I really shouldn’t be here at all, seeing as it’s Monday here already… but I’m cheating to say bye! and see you in the next MMP!
I had to stop reading at chapter 3 - Ok - she gave the excuse that Malfoy was “in love” hence his uncharacteristic behavior, but Dumbledore saying “mo’fo’”? no. just, no.
I don’t believe it. How could you be so cruel, Lissla? That is MY entry you are carving up so heartlessly. <wipes tear away; bites lip with fanged teeth> I MAY be goffik, but I DO have feelings!
In other news–remember how I worked in the yard yesterday for 3 hours? I have 21 mosquito bites on ONE LEG. I look like I have the Pox.
I spent another 3 hours out there today (but I wore jeans). It’s looking better. It feels good to be active and have energy left over. I even did some preliminary grad school work today. I also went for coffee with a GF. And spent a lot of $ at Borders. See you all in the next MMP.
No, no, no, rigs, it’s not yours- you’re twenty-two, and the author has to be about thirteen. I think I stopped breathing for more than a minute when she described them having sex as putting his ‘thingy’ in her ‘youknowwhat’. And 'taking off all my clothes, even my bra".
That and the bit about Snape filming them and Lupin masticating to it. Oh, cripes, the laughing hurts.
Why oh why oh why does Mom decide to call me at 10:30 on a Sunday night when she knows I never ever ever ever mean to be up that late??!
FTR: I was asleep and managed to be polite, but mostly because I was only barely awake. So now I’m awake. And afraid that I won’t be able to sleep quite as well again (I’ve been sleeping horribly lately).
Wish me luck!
GT
P.S. LiLi our gratefulness is endless. Sadly, I hadn’t made it that far. I fear I missed the best parts.
