Nice name, Li-li

Appropriate words and emotions to all others. Also Good Morning if y’all aren’t up yet (Left Coasters?)

Still inundated at work, so this is, again, mostly a drive-by… it’s almost quit-o’clock here, though

Yay LiLi!!

Arrrrg!!! I was up every hour on the hour last night with my “puppy.” :stuck_out_tongue: Poor chihuahua had the runs. I can’t think what she could have eaten that would cause it other than she munched on some uncooked sketti that got spilled on Saturday but that shouldn’t have done it. Stoopit dawg.

Pebbletec goes in the pool today. We’re getting closer!

li-li, you absolutely must talk to Junior while he’s in utero. You don’t want him to be all   :dubious: about Daddy when he’s born afterall.

wile, just drive till you’re too tired to go further. I hear there’s a nice place somewhere on the way. What’s it called??? Barns? Boats? Bates??

To those with working woes, just keep repeating. [del]It’s only a movie…[/del] no…wait…it’ll be over soon.

bobbio, wouldn’t they call ZZZ towing?

I need some coffee.

Tupug

Yeah, that’s what I’m looking for. Thanks!

Morning, all. Just caffeinating and watching it rain off and on. It’s a lovely cool morning with rain just falling straight down, no wind, the nice kind of rain that waters everything really well. I only wish I could send it to Idaho! We should be able to keep the house open at least through today and part of tomorrow before it starts heating up again. Which is fine by me. I slept in the front bedroom again, and this time the one time Rusty climbed up on the bed with me, I blocked his access to the gap by the wall. Which is good because I did not want to have to haul 75 lbs of dead weight of dog out of a 3" gap again!

{{{picu}}} Prayers for your friend.

Nice puppy picture, canineservant. You inspired me to pop over to Cute Overload for some morning cuteness, and sure enough, the very first thing today is a video of an itty bitty puppy drinking…and drinking…and drinking…for two and a half minutes! I highly recommend it if you want to overdose on Teh Cute!

A boy, LiLi? Yay! (Of course, I’d be yaying if it was a girl, too – my rule is, as long as it’s healthy, who cares?) Good name, too. And no, it’s not wrong to say silly things to your baby in utero. Or after birth, for that matter. I talked to my kids nonstop, and I tried not to dumb down the words I used when possible; it never hurts to start the vocabulary-building young.

Back to caffeinating and work. Or something.

We have a friend whose father read him Auden and Eliot and Pound from the moment of birth. He’s now doing his doctorate in philosophy. Actually, I doubt the two are related, but it’s funny.

And I figure prep is good for the kid. "We love Uncle Driving Husband very much, but we don’t listen to him. Or to Aunt Quazi-Daughter, either.
I got into the kitchen, prepared to wash the dishes I couldn’t wash yesterday because the water was off, and turned on the tap. No water today, either. So I took the laundry out, which was exciting, because there are big holes in the hall floor where they’re working on the pipes.

It will be a waterless lunch.

TinyNinjaChefDude (congrats!) is gonna be one cornfuzzed kid… Is it Uncle Driving Husband or Driving Daddy? Aunt Quazi-Daughter or Quazi-Sister?

Good morning, good morning! It’s a beautiful morning here in Paradise. OK, I don’t live in Paradise, but it’s still beautiful. It’s pretty hot, though. It’s 80F at 8:45 am, so it looks like it’s gonna be a scorcher today.

What’s with all the drive-throughs lately?! People, this is NOT a burger joint!!
Oh wait. :stuck_out_tongue:
OK, then, I’m going to drive right on by as well.
Could I have some fries with that, please?

Have a great day all!

Stoopid rain. We are now in a Flash Flood watch again this evening through tomorrow morning. I guess I need to work hard to send the rain over to whiterabbit.

In other news, I made it on the design team at my LSS (local scrapbook store). Which means each month they use my services, I get 20% off my product. YAY!!! Plus if they want me to teach classes, I actually earn $$. This is so exciting for me.

Formal interview for the part time position is tomorrow. Hopefully it will go ok.

Ooh! Nathaniel is one of my fav names! It’s one reason #2 son is named Johnathan–a compromise.

I am off to run errands with #1 son. Work in am–start at 0530. Not fun, but I’m ok once I get there. And getting out at 2 is very nice. I just have trouble sleeping. I can’t go to bed early–that does nothing for me.
Looks like…rain again! How pleasant. I LIKE living in a monsoon climate. Not.

Grad school nuttiness starts up again in one week. (actually, some of the instructors assigned shit in the last week of July. I put my fingers in my ears and said, lalalalala, so I didn’t hear them!)

Love other people’s puppies!

Good morning everyone.

I’m staying home today because I need to get my daughter into the doctor’s office. When I came home last night, she was awfully warm. Her cough is…odd. And…the cough is really producing anything. She claims there’s stuff in her throat, but her nose is fine and not stuffy?

At any rate, I’m not messing up like I did with my son and wait too long. I’m going to try and get my daughter in today in hope of preventing something bigger.

It’s cloudy here with off and on again rain.

picu, I’m sorry to hear about your friends.

I am sleeeeeepy and I don’t know why. After I called in to my boss to let her know I probably wouldn’t be there, I fell back asleep. I woke again at 7:00, 7:30, and finally at 8:30 I got up. I would love, love, love to just sleep straight through the night without waking up; a nice, restive sleep.

Well, I should finish cleaning myself up now.

Nice name, Li-Li!

I’m sorry about your friend, picu. I lost a friend years back to that horrible disease.

I am upright but not awake; I think I am going back to bed. My sleep schedule is so screwed up I have to take sleep when I can get it.

Nice name Li-Li!

Bored at work again today…not really but serious case of the don’twannas

The appointment for my daughter has been made. She’ll be seen at 2:20 today. I’m just glad I got her in. When I was talking about it here earlier today, I forgot to mention that she’s wheezing when she breathes through her mouth. Her wheezing isn’t severe enough that I need to get her in RIGHT THIS SECOND.

Dang, my kids have been so healthy for so long, it’s just downright weird that they both became ill in such a short span of time. Well, ill enough to require a doctor’s attention.

Because I didn’t know when I would be able to get my daughter in, I stayed home. It seemed senseless to drive all the way out to work, then have to drive back home to pick my daughter up, then drive out to another town to see the doctor. That’s a lot of gas money. Additionally, sometimes they get you in within 45 minutes of you calling, so there wouldn’t have been any way for me to make it from work, to home, and to the doctor’s office in that time.

It’s raining again. I’d gladly pass this rain along to whiterabbit.

I need to buy a new hair dryer today too. I was drying my hair when there was a loud POP and a big spark. I immediately unplugged the dryer. It turns out the cord, right where it meets the plug, is toast. It is burned and separated.

I should do something productive, like laundry.

Taters Whooping cough?

Bobbio, I don’t think it’s whooping cough. That has a very distinctive sound and this cough sounds nothing like that.

It’ll be interesting to see what the doc says. I just don’t want my daughter suffering. School starts in a couple of weeks and I want her rested and heathly.

Taters, hope your daughter is OK. BTW, they probably both got sick at once because they either got it from the same source, or from one another. Unless the Dr. pronounced their ailments as different, in which case, yeah, just lousy coincidence :frowning:

Also, you, **Rigs **and **McUne **-- once you’ve sent enough rain WhiteRabbit’s way, how about sparing me some, too?

**Roo **-- Do you want it SuperSized?

Oh, and Lili? Your comments about you husband’s sense of humor make me wonder if he isn’t me… After all, nobody has ever seen both of us in the same room, right? I mean, c’mon, what’s one husband more or less to you, huh?

Okay, once again, I’m posting without glasses. I just now saw my typo above.

"Heathly"?? Cripes. I even previewed. I obviously meant “healthy”. You know I just tried to type it incorrectly…again.

I am tired. I could lie down and take a nap, but as soon I try, I’m wide awake. How stupid is that?

Sorry the kidlet is sick, Taters. Here’s hoping the doctor is able to get her fixed up in no time.

You’re not the only one with the Don’t Wannas today, ems. What I really want to do is go put my feet up and turn into a vegetable. Alas, of course now I have yet another work deadline hanging over my head. At least all these deadlines make for fat paychecks; that’s frequently their only redeeming quality.

Isaac is a very disappointed doggie today. For some strange reason, I don’t want to go out in the incredibly wet and muddy back yard and sit there and get soaked so he can further destroy what little grass the moles have left us chasing his toys. Just because he thinks mud is fun doesn’t mean I share his views, at least not in our back yard. So he is lying here looking soooo sad. It’s not working, but he’s sure giving it a heroic try.

Back to work. I guess. :frowning:

SpecialOne, we have this conversation frequently:

Me: You’re not funny, you know.

Him: I’m hilarious!

Me: No, you’re not. That deer joke was stupid.

Him: My Dad loved it.

Me: My point exactly.
Gee, I wish they’d turn the damn water on. Right now they’re using welding gear right outside my door. I think I’ll have to leave for work through a window.
