I put in a maintenance request because the water in the tub is hard to turn on. To my surprise, the guy was here in about 10 minutes! He spritzed some WD40 (which I could’ve done if I hadn’t lost the little straw thingie.) and said if it’s not easier to turn by tomorrow, he’ll come back and replace some parts. My friend came over to chat and clean. She’s taking me for the surgery on Friday.
Believe me, I was worried, too. Right now I’m just at concerned-level. Once I got past the office staff and to actual medical people, everything sped up, and these folks seem MUCH more competent. I got a call from a nurse this morning with the pre-op instructions. Thursday night, I have to shower with Dial soap, then get into fresh, clean pajamas and into a bed made with fresh, clean sheets. Nothing about what clothes to wear Friday, so I guess those can be dirty.
Sari, sounds like you’re having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I hope that’s all the annoying, frustrating stuff you have to deal with for a long time.
Best of luck in your interview, nut! Fingers and toes all crossed. Am working on earlobes.
Bumba, don’t you miss repair shops? Remember when you could take your toaster or vacuum cleaner or TV to a shop, and for a reasonable fee, they’d fix it so you could keep using it? Vacuums would last 20 years or more. Sigh.
cookie, wow, that’s pricey. Now I remember why I had to rent a truck to move out here.
flyboy, somewhere there are goth parents who are going to steal your gargoyle idea.
