A Slightly Early MMP

We’re having pizza delivered for supper because it’s easy and I can’t deal with cooking. What I want to do is go to bed, but I should wait till at least 7:30.

I hate being sick. <whine whine whine whine whine> I must have a fever, because I’m freezing!!

We got a bill from the IRS, due to the nonsense with them not being able to access our bank account to pay our taxes. So we owe them a whopping $7.12 for penalty and interest charges. I’ll definitely send them a check instead of dealing with the bank transfer. Stoopit IRS.

It’s been a rotten day so far.

Coming out of a parking garage, I misjudged the available space on a blind corner and added to the truck’s collection of dents and scrapes.

DH has been feeling rotten, to the point that he had me cancel today’s radiation treatment and the visiting nurses. The doc said we could double the existing dose of dilaudid, but even that’s not working. About all I’ve been able to get him to drink has been just enough water to get the pain pills down, and he’s not really eaten anything since Monday.

I’ve spend most of the evening drifting in and out of sleep. I’m heading back to bed, hoping I get some restorative sleep.

Hugs to all…

I am PISSED. My wife texted me while I was at work that the a/c wasn’t working. When I got home I went outside to check the compressor, and found that someone had opened the fuse box and pulled the circuit breaker for the system.

That someone would deliberately go out of their way to make our lives harder like that absolutely infuriates me.

{{{gotti and DH}}}

rosie’s sig to all the rest.

Dindin was good. I made just enough for dindin tonight and for N.O.L. for the both of us tomorrow. Go Me! OYKW has been ummm… welcomed home and is now snoozin’ away. I put <snerk> butt rub! <snerk> on the ribs ‘n chikin which is now chillin’ out in da fridge. Smokeage shall ensue tomorrow. I shall make N.O.T. sallit and a pound cake. Other sides and snackies are bein’ provided by others for Sattidy’s cee-mint pond shindig. We shall officially welcome Summer!

{{{gotti and DH}}} all I can say is I hope things improve soonest.

Rio that is well and truly a reason to be pissed off.

MOOOOOOM feel better soonest.

Nettie I’d rather you wear the skirt than MetalMouse, though for all I know he could look quite fetchin’ in one. :smiley:

I am no true Scotsman, swampy, so no skirt for me. My jeans are getting the bulk of the wear, my ‘dress blues’ if you will…

{{{gotti and DH}}}

Rio, you got a neighbor who is pissed at you? That sounds rather petty and mean. Hope it was a one-off.

FCM, no hugs (you may be contagious) but best wishes and hope you feel better.

Lawn not watered since a 2.5 hour nap won out and soccer game refereed (some very talented kids out there), so I’m now considering what to get for sustinence this evening–a salad bowl, microwave fettuchini, or just a sammich. Actaully not very hungry, but do need something.

If any of you live in eastern Ohio, northern W VA, the western half of PA, or certain parts of New York and MD ------ GET IT FROM SOMEONE ELSE!!! We’re really screwed behind the 8-ball for a couple days. Come Tuesday feel free to go back to the jungle again. This is the long way of saying my manager is really asking some of us to find an extra turbo-boost; a bunch of people resigned just as another pallet change-over and some extra volume hit us. Tomorrow work will be irk and a long day.
{{{{{Taters}}}}} and for God’s sake quit mashing yourself!

I would be delighted, beats the hell out of waiting for the guy to come do $300 of repairs.
Of course, I would like to invite the guy who did it inside, and declare to the gendarmes that he threatened me.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work in a bit. No hockey till Monday.:frowning:
{{{{gotti and DH}}}}

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and partly cloudy for the day. Today’s plans are to crank up the smoker, make N.O.T. sallit, and make a cake. How domestic is that! :smiley: Actually, I envision gettin’ that done this mornin’ and even cleanin’ the smoker this evenin’.

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then onward to domesticity!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Good morning! Sometime during the night, my fever broke. I woke in a soggy sleep shirt, and the sheets were all damp (no, I didn’t pee the bed!! :stuck_out_tongue: ) I’m pretty sure the cold has run its course, but I feel wrung out. With luck, I’ll get some sleep back over the long weekend.

**swampy **- you reminded me - I need to clean my smoker. It’s been a week - I’m pretty sure it’s cooled down by now.

I emailed my old boss about the mysterious deposit and he immediately responded by asking if I want to come back to work there. yeah, right… But he is going to look into the mystery of the magical money. It would be nice if it was owed to me, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. I tend to keep track of when and how much I get paid - I’m peculiar that way. :smiley:

Anyway, Happy Firday!!!

I fixed your link

also, Firday flavored blurf

Chikin ‘n ribs are in the smoker. N.O.T. are done and coolin’ down in an ice water bath. Onions for the N.O.T. sallit are chopped. Next up will be the makin’ of a cream cheese pound cake. Except for the N.O.T. none of this is labor intensive but it is time consumin’. Other chores include sprayin’ some RoundUp and makin’ a trip over to the church house for ice.

MOOOOOOM glad your fever broke.

ETA: Burgers for tonight’s dindin have also been made.

BLURF In early today because I gave another coworker a ride and her hours are are different from mine. Must have been a bad week for vehicles needing repair this week. And Thank Goodness this week is almost over. I have a four day weekend as we are back to the cardiologist on Tuesday to get hubs ticker checked. And BLURF

I fear this is going to be a long day. Asked the boss for work a bit ago, and I’m still waiting. No idea where he is. I was talking to **FCD **about him last night - apparently what I’m experiencing is well-known about him. Especially the part about not explaining himself very well.

Seriously, dude, it’s English. It’s your first language. Use your words to say exactly what you want done and I’ll do it. Giving vague instructions then jumping on my case because I didn’t read your mind is not an effective management technique.

TGIF.

N.O.T. sallit is made. Cake is bakin’ away. Chikin ‘n ribs will be through gettin’ smoked in about an hour. The weeds are gaspin’ their last breaths. I’ve been a bzzy bear! Tell me I don’t know how to live it up on a day off. :smiley:

Wish I was bizzy. It’s nearly 2 hours since my last post and 10 minutes since I went to the boss *again *and asked for something to do. In the 4 hours I’ve been here, I made 5 screen-capture slides in powerpoint (I don’t think that took 10 minutes) and I added the attributes to some circuit breakers that I drew up earlier this week - that was maybe 15-20 minutes. And I’ve surfed, read, tidied my desk, gone to the ladies’ room, walked to the kitchen…

… aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand he just came by with work. Finally.

I have Soft Kitty stuck in my head since yesterday.

That’s fair; I guess, the way I look at it, I want to read threads started by people who want to engage with rest of us in good faith, and don’t really want to read threads started by people who don’t. To me, someone who posts something and then just tips out is not engaging in a ‘good faith’ discussion. I don’t care to read threads started by people who come back to defend their statement, or respond to the feedback they receive.

As a general rule, I don’t read threads with 50+ posts, where the OP has posted less than three times. Examples of things I would make exceptions for would be, like, a ‘live blog’ of a sporting event, a pit thread, or the MMP.
