Heh. Maintenance M flirts with me all the time. Ain’t gonna happen though–he’s too old for me plus he’s married. Also, there’s that whole enjoying being single thing I’ve got going on right now.
The Claritin seems to have helped, along with the jambalaya I had for dindin. Now I’m just crocheting, listening to Blues Traveler and watching the storm clouds roll in.
Dang, I made a fabulous salad to go with grilled steak for dinner! Mixed greens, grapefruit sections, cucumber, feta cheese, red onion, walnuts, and kalamata olives with a dressing made of oil and grapefruit vinegar plus a couple of tablespoons of grapefruit juice. Yum!
Okay, the first track on this freaked me out. I think either Steve Martin or Edie Brickell was spying on me a few years ago. Except the chorus is a lie; there ain’t no going back to anywhere for me.
Friday!!!Yay!!! Off to irk early for a few hours then to the Dr. for sore throat.
Went to the “I survived the air show” party yesterday and won a Bud Light grill. I never win anything so I was happy about that. It’s just a little Weber charcoal grill but Hey. Free.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out with a high of only 75 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon and evenin’. Then we’ll have a couple of days of highs in the low 70s. Oh my! Are we goin’ back to Winter?
Butters yay for the swag! Now go grill you up sump’n.
freebie that sounds like a great sallit. I like puttin’ all kinds of stuff in sallits. I like sallit.
Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. At least 'tis Firday.
Happy friday to you 9-5’er M-F’ers out there It’s another day on the boat for $2.99 (love that moniker) Things are going ok as far as work is concerned. We are actually back in port for a while today to do some repairs, get groceries, do a shipment, etc.
Shift is nearly half over and I’ve been pretty productive so I’m happy.
Slept a little better last night. Still haven’t managed to stop crying myself to sleep (the days are better, the nights are still so lonely), but at least I managed to get a bit more sleep than the 4-5 hours I had been getting.
I was so exhausted yesterday, I was sure I’d sleep like the dead. Yeah, no such luck. I think it was a combination of a very hard bed (I missed my memory foam topper), the weird-feeling sheets (WTH did my mother buy???), no cat climbing all over me, and bizarro dreams that I don’t recall, but I know they kept waking me. Anyway, I’m up but Mom is still asleep, so that’s good.
We watched Carousel last night - what a sick story that is! “Sometimes a slap feels just like a kiss”??? Can’t believe I’d not seen it till now and can’t believe it’s supposedly popular.
My truck bed is almost full, but I’ll be getting a little more this morning. So far, I’ve got peonies, iris, forget-me-nots, crocus, double almonds, some grasses, and a metric buttload of pachysandra. Today, we’ll pot up some phlox (**Spaz **: :p) and another small shrub. Mom also gave me 2 hoses. She bought a couple of those that shrink down and weigh almost nothing, so she gave me a couple of 75’ beasties. I think I’ll need to replace the ends, but they’ll replace the leaky hoses we have at home. So yay! I should get out of here after lunch.
There shall be much planting this weekend, but the weather is supposed to be cool, so that will help a lot. Plus we’re promised rain all day today - that’ll prep the soil. Planting in dust is not good.
Blurf. I had some wine last night so today’s blurf is quite justified. I am also on my own in the office as my roomie doesn’t work on Fridays so I’ve been doing stuff but not particularly quickly. Never mind, as long as it gets done.
My deadline for finishing the timetabling stuff has been brought forward by a week, I don’t think it will make much difference to me since the deadline is now two days after I fly off to Hungary so I had intended to get it all sorted out by then.
Today I’m off for lunch with some folks I used to work with so that will be fun. We’s having fish and chips, nice since I haven’t had that for ages but very naughty as it’s all fried stuff and not on my diet plan. Apparently it’s much better for me if I take the batter off the fish and don’t eat that bit…but where’s the fun in that?
Plans for the weekend? Playing with Nuts’ Lego of course, and putting it all back apart from a couple of vital bits that will be hidden somewhere else. Oh, and I am visiting my doting parent since she is not well at the moment. She rang me to let me know she’d had to call the paramedics out because she was having trouble breathing but she hadn’t told me at the time so I wouldn’t worry. :smack:
Thus I shall go and be dutiful daughter on Sunday instead of being at home playing at domestic goddess. I wonder if I can persuade one of the cats to take over the vacuuming, mopping, washing and ironing instead?
Can’t seem to catch a break. Just got over being sick so what could be better…Female Issues! Thats right, I’ve won an all pain filled week of ickness. But wait there’s more! The trip includes bathroom visits every hour on the hour for the first two days, just in time for the weekend. All courtesy of Mother Nature. Lets give her a big round of applause ladies and germs.
My back is now saying “My turn!” I’ve been in so much pain since the MRI, it’s not funny, and it’s been waking me up. Apparently something in there did not like being held in one place while either bending forward or backward for the duration of a scan run.
I’m also starting to think radiology is a poorly understood black art. My doc looks at last year’s MRI images and says my spine has gotten to bone-on-bone. The radiologist looks at the images and says “mild disc space narrowing” - are they even looking at the right person’s file?
