A Spooky & Furry Critter MMP

Howdy from irk,

Just wanted to say hi

Shiny Cat tis been one of those weeks, will tear into the story by Sunday, sorry to be slow

Looks as though all are doing pretty well yeah

Gotta run

Jim

Yawn.

Ditto.

It reminds me of the story Carrie Fisher told in her autobiography about when her daughter started dating a boy that was related to someone Elizabeth Taylor had been married to. (For those who don’t know, Carrie Fisher’s father Eddie Fisher left her mother, Debbie Reynolds, for Elizabeth Taylor. It was the Jennifer Aniston/Angelina Jolie fight of the 1950s.) She sat down with her daughter and drew out a chart with all the marriages, affairs, and other such goings-on, then they figured out the daughter and the boy she was dating were related through scandal.

Good morning everyone. A slow day today; no work to do. Half over though.

I hope you all have a nice Saturday and relaxing weekend for those of you who have it off.

{hugs} to everyone!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a chilly 46 Amurrkin out! Today’s high will only be 70 even. We have a cool down today and tomorrow after all the rain on Firday but will warm up startin’ Monday. It’s kinda nice though. Coolish but not cold.

Today’s plans include a visit to JDD’s father at said father’s nursin’ home. So, JDD, JDD Partner, OYKW and I are goin’ to have N.O.L. at the good Chinese place then head up to Dawson to spend a little time. JDD mentioned that his father had been askin’ about us, so a visit is in order. Hey, he likes us but then again, what’s not to like! Also, a belated birthday N.O.L. for a good friend will take place tomorrow at da cave after deheathenization. Nuttin’ fancy, grilled chikin, friggin good N.O.T. (requested by the honoree), green beans, squish casserole, rolls and, of course, cake (chawklit sheet cake with Coca Cola[sup]TM[/sup] icin’ (also requested by the honoree). I’m even puttin’ pee-kahns in the icin’ to make it special. Anywho, prep for that must also ensue today.

Just another whirlwind madcap day in south Jawja!

Now I need more caffiene and need to consider brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify. I shall also go ahead and make the cake to get that out of the way.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

I’m up, I’m showered, I’m dressed in grubbies (no shoes yet), and I’m having some breakfast and caffeine. **FCD **has left for the Harley Dealership - there’s a big deal open house-motorcycle show-auto show-remote broadcast by a local radio station - and I don’t know what-all going on over there. He’s going to help set up and I don’t know how long he’ll hang around.

The copious rain last night should make my planting easier today - I won’t need to drag the hose with me as I plant. First chore will be getting the Pachysandra out of the truck and into the dirt. Rather than doing it one plant at a time, I’m going to make trenches, lay the roots in the trenches, and cover them up. Relatively quick and easy. Amongst them, I’ve got a bunch of peonies and day lilies to make the hill less boring. And I guess before the day is over, I’ll need to get all of the plants out of the truck and to a shady spot so they don’t bake before I get them all planted, altho we do have relatively cool week ahead, so there’s that.

I need to get some laundry done also - alas, it’ll have to go into the dryer since I’ll be planting all week and won’t have time to hang stuff out. And next weekend, we’re supposed to be going to Dewey Beach for some Harley thing. Naturally, the long range forecast is for rain…

No time to worry about next week. Too much to do today.

Happy Saturday!

I have critters in my attic - and no, that is not the same thing as bats in my belfry. I have to call animal control. Or I could be a real bastard and ignore the problem and let the new owner deal with it.

Happy Saturday!

It’s only 16 degrees above freezing, I had to close my window, my toes were getting cold.

I’m looking up houses in a higher price range, I may as well go for what I qualify for since it’s damn near impossible to get a mortgage for under $75.000.
With the higher interest rates for the smaller loans there’s not that much difference in the payments anyway.

The Victorian I looked at before just came down in price, from 40,000 to 33,000. I thought about asking the agent to put in an offer for $10,000 but I doubt that would be accepted. Something about that house, I really like it but it needs a ton of work and of the kind I can’t do myself.
I wish I could talk to my ex-bil about it but since he has cancer I doubt he could do much to help me.

Sorry for the headaches Bobbio and Nettie.
I’d need a huge sheet of paper for that diagram!

You look at soap operas and think they are BS and then you find out people really are that crazy for reals.
I wouldn’t even want to begin to diagram the relationships with the parents of Agnes and Rufus. Their parents lived in the same town, went to the same schools, hung out with the same people. The married, had kids, got divorced and stayed within the same group for their subsequent relationships (except for Agnes mother who moved away from the group).
I think by now everybody has slept with everyone.

I need to irk, irk and irk some more since all the company yesterday screwed with my plans.
I hear we are having more company today so it’s going to be another noisy day.

Holy cow!
What state is this in?

Brrrrrrr. Just got back from a tree planting ceremony on campus. The sun is shining right now, but an hour ago it was blowing snow. Fortunately, the weather pretty much relieved me of the obligation of having to attend the other three tree plantings that followed ours.

At least I got a tree out of it – an American hornbeam, which I am going to plant to replace a copper beech we lost a few years ago in a wind storm.

Believe me, most of MD is not this cheap to buy a house.

It sold already.
It is small, 2 bedrooms and a very small yard and needs a hell of a lot of work.
The pictures of it were beautiful, very deceiving.

Going to the Spring Crawfish Festival today so my wife and daughter can see Si from Duck Dynasty. I’ll post pics later in the DD thread. Yes, I’ll be wearing my Duck Commander hat and Under Armor sunglasses. That’s not Spring the season but Spring, Texas, akin to West, Texas. I’ll stop in West next week to get kolaches and find a donation jar.

Please don’t. Night Audit Lady was telling me about her adventures with the water heater that decided to burst at her new place. It apparently started leaking a while ago, so the previous tenant decided to plug the leak with a couple of tampons. The tampons flew across the room when the heater broke. We both agreed that’s the most ghetto repair ever.

I’ve been looking up how to make worm bins online. Since most of the food waste I toss is vegetable matter, I’ve been wanting to compost it somehow. Doesn’t look too hard, and it should smell better than the compost heap at the back of beyond house I grew up in. That might be a later-in-the-summer project as my mad gardening money for this month is tied up in the couple of tomato plants and maybe a pepper I’m getting next weekend.

It was 37 American this morning. This. This is why I wait until May to start planting things.

And to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street! :stuck_out_tongue:

**SpazCat, **I had a worm bin for a while. No smell at all. It took some experimentation to figure out what they really liked and what they didn’t care for.

I would reluctantly call animal control.

Break time!!

I’ve planted 2 of the bags of pachysandra - I think I filled in a 10X20 area - maybe more, but it’s hard to judge. I have almost as much more to plant. I’ll post pics later. **FCD **called and asked me to bring his hoodie to him - he’s doing traffic control and it’s not even 50° out there. I just got back from driving to Hughesville.

And imagine my delight to find a serving of tuna noodle casserole untouched in the fridge. I really didn’t want a sammich and I didn’t feel like cooking, so this worked out great! And after I eat and rest a bit more, I’m going out to get the rest of the pachysandra into the ground. Since we got such a toad-soaker last night, the soil is good and wet. Unfortunately, I planted my foot on a particularly clay-ey patch and almost did a split, which would not have been pretty, or healthy… Thankfully, I’m done with that section of the hill for a bit.

When the pachysandra is all in, assuming I don’t feel like death, I’m going to plant the lilies and the iris. I may also fling the wildflower seeds and see what they do. And I’ve got to figure out what to do with all the other stuff I got - several peonies, some grape hyacinths, coneflowers, forget-me-nots, plus some shrubs, but I think I know where they’re going. It looks like we’re in for a cooler-than-normal week, which will be perfect for planting. So yay!

I have competition for the title of “The Cute One”

No, those are rug rats.
Curtain climbers.
Ankle biters.
Human Larvae.
