A Stormy MMP

You are all awesome! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Thank you Nettie for reaching out. :people_hugging:

FCM I’m sorry to hear about FCD Dad.

Doggio :broken_heart: :broken_heart:

I am so glad you are ok! I have had similar experiences, and that sensation with the loose horse and being on the ground is awful.

Nettie I’m sending you sooooo many good vibes. :crossed_fingers:t3: :crossed_fingers:t3: :crossed_fingers:t3: :crossed_fingers:t3:

A new word! I love it.

I hope he’s ok. :worried:

I haven’t been around because honestly things haven’t been great and I haven’t wanted to be that cartoon character with the raincloud dripping all over everyone.

A belated Happy New Year’s to everyone.

How appropriate a sentence for Friday the 13th! :joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:

That’s also my reason for retreat…may we share?

Absotively.

You know we love you, and we worry when someone drops off the map for over a month, especially when that person lives in an area that’s had the storm problems we have lately. (hugs)

Anyone who’s had stuff going on, feel free to unload. Goes with the territory around here.

As for my interview, that turned out to be a bit of a waste of time and makeup. Their version of “customer service representative” involved soliciting donations for non-profits. He did seem impressed with my admin/clerical, and they think they’ll have an opening for that in a couple of months or so. He said I’ll be hearing from them then.

On the plus side, it had been a while since I last dealt with interviewing, so practice was not a bad thing, and I now own a nicer interview outfit (I may still keep an eye out for a top I like better and it might not be a bad idea to have the sleeves on the blazer shortened a little). Do need to improve my makeup-applying skills, though, since foundation and powder do a marvelous job highlighting wrinkles and the concealer for the built-in undereye dark circles didn’t seem to help much.

Guess I should have mentioned it was almost 30 minutes one way from her apartment to Food Lion. But it went well - I helped her find what she needed and helped her stow it once we got back. So that was good.

FCD and I went to Red Robin for lunch but now we’re home. I’ve started some laundry and I’ll try to finish it tomorrow. Lots of dirties down there. I’m also trying to get the blood stains out of FIL’s pillow so MIL doesn’t have to throw it away. So we’ll see how good the OxyClean spray is.

I got a couple of chickens at Food Lion - I’ll rotiss one for MIL and the other for us. She wants hers split in half for the freezer, so I’ll do that for her. We’ll take it to her on Sunday, and I’ll clean her living room rug with my magical machine.

I stopped and got mine today - had to stop twice. The first place, there was a woman punching in her numbers one at a freekin’ time, and I was behind another guy. So we went to a different WaWa and SUCCESS! :confetti_ball: Tomorrow, $1.35 billion will be mine!!!

Till then, laundry and chillage. Oh, and I’m sleeping with Mel tonight since I only had about 4 hours of snoozage last night.

It me!

Today was a much less exciting day at the barn. The mud is freezing into ruts which is preferable. I went out the side gate where there is very little mud and I came home with my pants on!

I stopped at Portillo’s for an Eyetalian beef and ate inside. They play 1950/60s music so I heard Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Righteous Brothers. I left feeling happy.

National Weather Services thinks chance of thunderstorms today, but tomorrow’s weather is going to be worse. Considering it’s currently pouring rain, ugh. I gather another nice atmospheric river is due along about Monday.

Bonus points for someone decided that a bomb threat at a Department of Human Assistance office was a great idea.

Getting grouchy, must nab some chocolate.

Woot! No walk of shame back from the barn. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Howdy Y’all! We have slothed, achieved nappage, and have gone to the hog trough GC for geezer N.O.L. Right now it’s 45 Amurrkin out, cloudy, and windy. Thus we are glad to be inside and warm. We now continue sloth and chillage.

red Epiphany is when the Magi visited the Christ child, so an Epiphany party is an end of Christmas party. Normally this is done on the fifth or sixth of January, but we delayed it so’s we could do the note burnin’ thang as well. Plus also, the feelin’ was get through the annual meetin’ first, then we partay.

{{{Sunny}}} :: tacklehug :: so glad to see you post again. Sometimes one needs a hiatus. We all understand that.

WetOne first glad you were not hurt. Second, I laughed way more than I should have about your misadventure. Glad Ariel didn’t run too far away.

Nettie sorry the interview was a waste. However, looks like there could be a prospect in a couple of months, so good for that.

Sari glad Ripple’s surgery went well. Here’s hopin’ for a good biopsy report.

Swans can be nasty critters. I think geese are nastier, however.

Oopsie outside of the celebration of life, sounds like a fun weekend for you. Enjoy Wicked.

Peroxide. Then, use the stain remover.

nona - too late - it’s in the washer…

Damnit.

Pouring down rain. I’m over it.

Bonus points for discovering the umbrella I used today could do with a coat or two of Scotchgard. Got dripped on while sloshing to the mailbox.

Afternoon all. Car is back in the garage and I have another decent-sized debt on my credit card; and since that wasn’t enough, went to Best Buy and bought a new laptop, smaller and lighter than the old Dell I had, should be easier to travel with. Have to pick up one or two more items for the vacation, and then wait for the credit card bills on the 20th…kinda hoping I do win the lottery now…

The Dealership called around 2:30pm, so I Uber’ed for only the second time in my life, the lady was very polite and got me to the place without fuss, but a 6’2", 270lb. guy in a Honda Civic…

SUNNY!!! {{{ }}}. Glad you checked in, now take care of yourself and your life and come on back to us when you can (but soon…). And the character I remember with the raincloud is from Lil’ Abner (shows how old I am): Joe Btfsplk - Wikipedia

wet one, glad pants stayed where they belonged this time.

Seanette, sorry the interview didn’t pan out (this time). But yeah, have a practice run isn’t a bad thing.

That may be the best sentence ever written.

Oopsie, I think you are doing right in paying your respects, hope the interactions go better than you could hope for.

OK, onward into the evening. All y’all take care.

Goo thinks it’s time for gooshy food. She’s about an hour early. Since I wasn’t giving her gooshy food, she started crying to be let out into the catio. Half a minute later, she started crying to be let back in. I might let her in in a minute. Or it sounds like Cat Mom might be waking from her nap…

metal mouse, you may well be correct on Herkimer’s namesake.

Glad Ripple came through the surgery well sari

swampy, I do remember the celebration of Epiphany, but had never celebrated it with a birthday-esque party. It sounds like fun though.

:tacklehug:sunny! :tacklehug:

Housecleaning / laundry is done, groceries procured and supper et. I’m thinking about making some apple dumplings tonight becayse I have the ingredients and they sound good.

My poor puppy is still loopy.
He’s been walking around, staring at walls, stumbling, and falling.
He looks really happy though.
He finally went to sleep, and Cerby ran over top of him chasing the cat.
That got him up and walking around staring at walls and stumbling again.
Now he is sleeping again.
I want to go upstairs to bed, but I don’t want to wake him.
And he is up again after Cerby walked over top of him.
He’s allowed to go upstairs once or twice a day. I don’t know it he’ll try to follow me.
I’m sure he won’t be able to get up onto the bed.

Gentle skritches to Ripple.
