His4Ever, everybody else on Fenris’s satirical dialogue was a person who had some sort of bête noire that they insisted on making an issue. With FatherJohn, for example, it was the evils of SUV’s – and also a disproportionate and irrational hatred of Pres. & Mrs. Clinton which somehow metamorphosed into a dislike of the size of the part of her body with which Mrs. Clinton sits.
You are not being parodied because you’re standing up for your faith – you’re being parodied for the way in which you’re doing it – and if nothing CJ, Guinastasia or I or any of the other folks who’ve tried to discuss it with you has made any sense, then you really need to pray about what God wants you to be doing here – and listen for His guidance. There’s no sarcasm in that – if you care anything for my opinion, I think you do have a mission, a purpose given by Him in being here, and that you’ve been misinterpreting how to do it.
His4Ever, Fenris is the finest and best known satirist on the board. In my experience, including this go round, he doesn’t take on targets without ample justification. His initial post and his post at 6:48 am this morning Board Time were intended as satire, not literal truth. He was called out on his Klan reference as soon as he posted it and the only reason I didn’t join in was I figured the subject was adequately covered. At 10:52 am this morning, he apologized for it.
You’ve been around here long enough to know that this can be a rough place. I’ve also warned you about the direction you were heading, and for a while I thought you’d turned around. It’s true that people do get thrown to the wolves around here, and Fenris is alpha wolf. He hasn’t inducted Joe_Cool or Jersey Diamond into the One Trick Pony Chowder and Marching Society because they do talk about more than one subject. I’m afraid you don’t.
I suspect that after our exchanges of a week ago you’re not listening to me, but I worry that you’re being hurt and as part of my duty to God, I am obligated to try to help you. We’re not trying to make a martyr out of you. First of all, my understanding of your beliefs is that you don’t believe in formally honoring martyrs and don’t think much of those who do, given your views on Catholics and idolatry. Second, there have been enough martyrs in this world. You’re right. There are people here who don’t like you. If you tell someone often enough that they’re going to hell or that they’re sinful for something they believe they can’t help, and they will tend tend to dislike you. There are also people here who are trying to help you! Polycarp, Masonite and I are on your side just for openers, and I suspect Joe_Cool and Jersey Diamond are as well, not to mention a bunch of other “liberal Christians”. We’re not asking you to change your beliefs, although, yes, I would be happy if you changed one or two of them. We are asking you to show us more of the beautiful, unique human being we know you are because you are created in God’s image and therefore must be both beautiful and unique (yet another paradox!).
