We had snow in various northern counties today, but thankfully none here. They are forecasting the potential for a huge snow event here around Thursday. Some models are forecasting eight to ten inches of snow. That’s a lot for lowland snow. You throw in the infamous ice that always accompanies snow around here and we have the potential for some messed up stuff around here.
Bobbio, I hope you find someplace that meets your needs soon.
We had a great time celebrating a friend’s birthday last night. Her sweetie put out an awesome spread and it was all delicious. I was so full I couldn’t indulge in birthday cake. We danced and laughed and just had a good time all around.
Ugh, my back has been killing me for quite some time now. I kept thinking it’s just because I’ve gained a little weight and my bed sucks. But, I’m beginning to wonder. It used to be I’d wake up sore in the morning, but within an hour or two of getting up, I’d feel fine. This time around, the pain isn’t going away. In fact, I have to be damn slow and careful in the mornings because the slightest micro move in the wrong direction flattens me.:rolleyes: This has been going on around two months now, so I’m guessing I need to haul myself in to the doctor.
I’ve been trying stretching and strengthening exercises, but they hurt like you wouldn’t believe and they shouldn’t hurt that much.
Well, off to cruise the news sites and then hit the treadmill.
There’s lots of places in Hippy Hollow that take dogs. What’s hard is finding a place that takes cats. I do not understand this place sometimes.
Speaking of backs, yesterday I finally put in one of my yoga dvds and did a thirty-minute workout. I felt something pop in my back early on, but what was really fun was the relaxation pose at the very end where you’re supposed to lie flat on the floor and totally let go. My lower back decided to start sending me nice sharp pains throughout the whole thing. Not very conducive to relaxation, but my muscles do feel a bit more released today. I’ll try another workout tomorrow–I don’t want to completely throw out my back yet. It may be time to look up a good chiropractor.
One of Computer Boy’s friends is staying with us this weekend. He’s supposed to go to court up here tomorrow, but the way the weather is looking it’ll probably be continued. The Boys are going hiking with him later on. I’ll stay behind to scarf Motrin and nurse my back a bit more. I may walk around the neighborhood later on before the second Snowpocalypse hits.

Slept late, which is a rule around here on Sundays, made some yummy vanilla/cinnamon french toast and am now ensconced permanently on the couch for football.
I took a melatonin last night right before SNL and set the DVR to shut off after 90 minutes. I fell asleep sometime shortly after Weekend Update, and slept until Noon:30. 
Busy, busy…
We ran some errands that included getting my car washed (OK, more like just rinsing the salt off, but it’s cleaner), checking on the boat, having lunch at Red Robin (slooooooow server today), getting some fabric softener, and stopping at Best Buy to look at GPS units. Now we’re back and I’m finishing my laundry - one more load that *has *to be done, and two loads that need to get done in the next few days. Other than that, slug city. It’s way too cold and windy to be outside.
Oh, except for sorting the pile o’papers. That won’t take too long… theoretically…
We went to church and then brunch and have been hanging out, doing laundry, watching stuff and playing Jenga. I’ve also been knitting (almost done with hand warmers).
Glad your Mom decided to go shopping later, MBG.

Beware of AntiVirus8 - major league malware! It infected FCD’s laptop and it was a major hassle to dowload a malware remover. He has no idea how it got on his machine, but it’s evil!!!
Last load of laundry is in the dryer. Dog has been fed. And his laptop just got the BSOD - I had no idea that could happen with Windows 7… Not good. Not good at all…
Howdy Y’all! Deheathenated, lunched and napped here. Also dealt with annual Parish meetin’, election of three new Vestry members and what turned into a longish Vestry meetin’ after the Paris meetin’. Now doin’ some laundry. It’s lookin’ ick outside. It’s cold and looks rainy. The rain (precipitation part of stuff) will happen and dependin’ on how cold it gets it could turn into a “wintry mix.” Rah.
Ima keep showin’ up here just to post to myself.
Now we have a “Winter Storm Warning” in effect from one a.m. until 9 p.m. It just keeps gettin’ more interestin’ weatherwise.
your storm is supposed to meet up with the mid-west’s storm over us sometime Tuesday.

Talked to my Mom in Georgia today. (she’s in Jawja, not me) She just got her knee replaced, but is healing up great. She was telling me about the outfit from down in south Jawja that sends home health care nurses to see her and help her with her PT. Could that be your outfit, Swampy? Prolly not.
We’re gonna go see *Tron * tonight. Yay!
We might get some snow Wed or Thur., or not.

Bumbie - your mom will look back on this in a year and know the pain was worth it. Trust me, I’ve been there (and will be going there again for the other knee, hopefully late this summer)
