I really hate Hart to Hart reruns. can’t be too picky in the middle of the night. Now i get to choose between Bait Car or Diagnosis murder, except i think the dateline is one i haven’t seen yet.
I’ve thought about throwing in a load of laundry, but then i’ll probably fall asleep and i don’t like leaving the hose hooked up with the water on. My washer connects to the kitchen faucet and i had a hose pop off once; that makes me nervous. i don’t let anything run unless i am awake and nearby. My friend called me the other day and said her grandson had put clothes in the dryer and went to bed. the dryer ran all night until she went down to do laundry the next morning. I’ve had that happen too. i was livid because a friend who was staying with me put clothes in the dryer and went out, after i told her the dryer wasn’t working right. then she was livid because the sweaters she dried came out the right size for a cabbage patch doll and she wanted me to buy her all new sweaters. yeah, right, that was going to happen. Not.
Best way to lose a friend is to let them move in with you.
found a law and order rerun I haven’t seen yippee
and my shift key still sticks
still in the 60s outside, then we are supposed to get snow on thorsday, then back up into the 50s and 60s over the weekend
(((((midget))))), good to see you back again, keep working at the working it out stuff
A couple of weeks ago, 'im indoors and I applied for US Global Entry cards…got an email today to say I have been conditionally accepted, just remains for me to trek down to that there London place and have an interview at the US embassy. We are hoping to get them both on the same day so I have to wait for them to decide whether 'im indoors is a risk or not.
Other than that, it’s a grey day over here, got meetings today so will be busy but not exactly fascinating. Ho hum.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 56 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and cloudy for the day. Tomorrow and Firday highs will be in the 60s then warm up to the 70s again. We have not had much of a Winter down this way.
No real big plans today. It is grocery day so there’s the thrill of the Pubic sto’ and the IGA in da burg which has a deal on ground beast and chikin boobs. I shall also make a trip to the liberry whilst out and about. Actually I think I shall deal with the liberry and the iGA today since they are close together and make my rounds to the Pubic sto’ tomorrow. Gotta spread the fun around.
{{{Ruble}}} so sorry about your co-irker.
{{{Midget}}} welcome back! FWIW I’m still tryin’ to figure myself out.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify so as to be seen by my adorin’ public.
**BooFae **- is the Global Entry card a new thing? It’s not like you’ve never been to the states before. If you need character references, you know where to find us!
It feels like a spring morning at the moment, but the temps are supposed to plummet overnight. The snow isn’t supposed to reach this far south, but my mom’s place is at the edge of the area of concern and we’re supposed to be going there tomorrow evening. We’ll call her before leaving to see what the deal is.
We may have found a solution to the too-soft memory foam for FCD. I did a little googling, and in one forum, someone suggested putting a stiff area rug on top of the mattress but under the mattress pad and sheet. So yesterday, I did that, and he said it seemed to work. The rug keeps the foam from conforming around the body and makes it feel firmer. Here’s hoping the problem is solved. It’ll take a few nights to know for sure.
Other than that, just another day in paradise. Midget, not to be discouraging or anything, but I’m 63 and I’m not sure I’ve got the life thing figured out yet. I just kinda go with the flow and work it out as I go along. That’s kept me out of prison so far.
There are various versions of the global entry programme for visitors from all over the place, plus a version (I believe) for people coming from Canada who want to bring vehicles.
We have a visa waiver scheme so that we don’t have to apply for a visa every time we visit, we just fill out the online ESTA form (valid for two years) and fill out a landing card every time. The new scheme will give us a five-year card that basically allows us to bypass the immigration queue as we’ve already been assessed, as it were. It is aimed at low-risk travellers so it should be a big help to us. I’m not sure about the character references though, I don’t think your government needs the finer details of my laundry schedule!
(((((Ruble))))), missed your comment further up…hope you are still managing to crack jokes today!
Gas prices ending with “.9”? Pfft. Sale prices ending in “.99”? Yawn. The Internet sez prices need to go to subdecimals and preferably end with “.99999.9999”.
Of course they’ll probably fix it soon. Hmm, I wonder what happens if you put it in your cart. Oh, it gets rounded down to 9.99. Looks like I can save .00999.9999.
Howdy Y’all! I managed to go to both the Pubic Sto’ and the IGA as well as the liberry. Go Me! Since what I got at the Pubic Sto’ was not perishable, I went there, then the liberry then the IGA where I did purchase perishables. Anywho, all is stored where it stays in da cave so all is good. However, havin’ braved two stores and the liberry I am worn out and may need a nap.
Been up and productive for some time. Found a pair of shoes over the weekend at Sam’s and decided they were so comfy that I ran back today and got two more pairs to have ready for the future. Got my special t-shirt ready for work in memory of Brewer. Next to some of my more outlandish colonial socks it was about the only piece of clothing I have that she coveted.
I don’t wear it often - it’s more for special occasions. I decided today needs to be one of those.
Food Lion has a sale on poke loins this week and I just happened to use my last poke roast. Good timing, eh? I buy a whole loin, then cut it up into roasts and chops for the freezer. For $1.99/lb, it’s an excellent deal!
Meanwhile - LUNCH! Busy morning, plus I was just handed something for this afternoon. The day is zipping by! YAY!
i finally fell asleep during Law and Order, woke up to see the ending, and then slept until 8:30.
metalmouse, i couldn’t blame by kidneys, nor the dog, not the cat last night. i just couldn’t sleep. nothing bothering me, nothing on my mind, nothing hurting, no worries.
it’s going to be a long day. I should try to stay awake but i doubt i will. damn shift key is still messing with me too.
it’s still warm outside, but cloudy and supposed to rain. then snow tomorrow.
I’m sorry about your coworker ruble
midget - not to upset you or anything, but it’s been my observation that as soon as you think you have it all together and figured out, life throws you a curve and you get to start all over.
life is like a carnival, sometimes you ride the merry-go-round, sometimes you ride the roller coaster, and sometimes you puke your guts up from eating too much cotton candy.
**Blurf ** friggin’ irk cutting into my mumping time. I have been very busy but I will go back and read. We are have an annual security exercise and are in Charlie. You’d be surprised how many fools try to come into my bldg with no ID. Ain’t happening. Dumb asses.
Tomorrow is the day to fumigate my house. So, I get to go home and move all my food, medicine and other crap. The tenting company assures us once the tent is on the cat can’t get in there but i want to just board her overnight at the vet. The fight will be with hubby as he don’t want his “baby” caged.
Welcome back emily! I’m 54 and it’s been just in the last decade that I decided what I wanted to be when I grow up. Don’t sweat it.
Back at irk today. Aside from the usual Wednesday evening chores at home, I need to prep the alien masks for the heathen children to assemble this weekend. I designed them last evening and the kids should have fun assembling/personalizing them.
As for the pubic sto’ - reminds me of one time when I accidentally almost typed “pubic domain” on a form for some sheet music I was submitting for publication! Managed to catch myself in time though.
When I was working during college, one of my jobs was transcribing things for an architect. I had to really watch myself to not type “pubic” instead of “public” for things like “public space” or “public bathroom”.
Due to recent events, I don’t know what I want to be and/or do either. I think it’s a continuum and it just keeps changing.
Them IRS folks are mean!
My flight was bumpy, but far from my worst ever. And any flight that lands as planned is alright by me. My procedure has been moved up and they’ve added as second procedure to my face. I am torn between dread and hope. Fingers crossed for a good result.
