Not a mention on the foxnews website’s front page about the allegations that Trump wanted to fire Mueller Instead their lead story is more emails between the FBI lovers.
Okay, that’s true.
I don’t know that the skills would not translate. Sure, it’s different, but every day is a different challenge to overcome. Every day is a chance that a new problem will surface that requires entirely new tools and ways of thinking to overcome or adapt to.
Small business owners who do not learn to delegate also never manage to grow any.
I certainly would not say that all small business owners are up to the task, but I think that there likely are some that are.
My only point is that I hope that trump doesn’t actually make people think that a businessman can not hold political office like president, as he is not really a very good example.
Fair points. It’s quite possible that a talented individual could be equally successful in business or government. Trump is not that person.
For a business owner that I think could do a decent job at being President, I think an example would be Mark Cuban.
I hesitate to bring him up because Trump has really shown how celebrity doesn’t translate to POTUS, but Cuban does have actual business acumen, and the fact that he’s on a TV show is probably the only reason I know how he behaves. I’m sure there are lots more that I just don’t know of.
I should add on this topic as well, that for many small business owners, running for office is part of running their businesses. Meaning that many small business owners run for office and then use their connections to government to help their businesses.
That’s very much how it works, in my neck of the woods (Central NJ). Most of the local elected officials are small business people, who have business interests that they serve via these offices, whether in self-serving policies (e.g. zoning variances, which are hugely profitable), or as silent partners in businesses which get contracts for local governments. The same goes for most of the people appointed to the various boards, who generally get these positions by virtue of being pals and business cronies to the elected officials.
That’s not to impugn small business owners as a group, BTW. Only that small percentage of small business owners who run for local offices, most of whom tend to be crooks to one extent or another, IME. (There are exceptions.)
I wouldn’t call them crooks. I know many business owners around here, and some of them serve on the local development district council, one is a township trustee, and many others run little organizations that are meant to increase the overall economic activity of the community. They don’t just get zoning variances for themselves, they help other businesses get them as well.
The rest of the elected politicians around here are all lawyers, they are probably all crooks.
O for crissake. I’d like somebody to stand up and shout that
a. FBI agents are allowed to have political opinions.
b. Having an opinion is not the same as being biased.
c. Having an opinion does not mean that those with the opinion are in a position to influence the course of the investigation.
d. They thought Trump was an idiot? Join the club with 150 million Americans, including the Secretary of State.
Pics, or it didn’t happen.
Not to mention that they also criticized Democrats in their emails.
God I hate that motherfucker. Water carrying fool. I mean, I hate that motherfucker more than I hate Trump.
The United States government is not a business, and civics isn’t something you learn owning a basketball team.
He’d be a better President than Donald Trump, but so would a hundred million randomly chosen Americans above the age of 35.
Look right below that. They have three stories on it as of five minutes ago.
- Trump firing Mueller is a ‘red line’ for many Republicans, says Politico reporter.
- Gingrich on report Trump wanted to fire Mueller: ‘A non-story about a non-event’.
- Trump slams report claiming he sought to fire Mueller, blames ‘fake news’.
They were also listed second as a source for the story in Bing’s newsfeed this morning, when I first read about it.
It’s still in Bing’s rotation. Here -Did Trump try to fire Mueller? Behind the scenes of president's dispute with his legal team | Fox News
All this brouhaha about the so-called Nunes memo is part of the discrediting and corrupting strategy, no doubt; but there are some deeper, way scary implications to that incipient garbage dump that I hadn’t considered till I read this piece by Jim Wright of Stonekettle Station.
An ominous and unsettling take on the subject. I’m not going to quote any excerpts because it needs reading in full.
How many red lines will there be, before it is finally enough???
Wel they fucking SHOULD
Simple. Daddy’s money which he inherited (he himself never actually made or earned shit) and corruption.
…LIKE!..
Do y’all think there is some specific thing that thump is afraid the Mueller investigation will uncover?
Jim Tweeted this morning :
I think the most likely criminal acts that would be uncovered is money laundering or financial crimes of some sort. Given his red line comment, seems like I’m on the same page with Trump about something.
