A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

The expected Tweetdown this morning has been epic:

"Arrived back in Washington last night from a very emotional reopening of a major U.S. Steel plant in Granite City, Illinois, only to be greeted with the ridiculous news that the highly conflicted Robert Mueller and his gang of 13 Angry Democrats obviously cannot find Collusion…

…,the only Collusion with Russia was with the Democrats, so now they are looking at my Tweets (along with 53 million other people) - the rigged Witch Hunt continues! How stupid and unfair to our Country…And so the Fake News doesn’t waste my time with dumb questions, NO,…

…I did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don jr. Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam (Taxi cabs maybe?). He even retained Bill and Crooked Hillary’s lawyer. Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!"

So much to unpack here:

  1. Trump also hired a lawyer who represented Billary.
  2. Nice of him to corroborate that the meeting happened. Unnecessary, but nice.
  3. … especially knowing Mueller is reading them…
  4. The “taxi cabs” remark… (1) DJT has thrown that out there to cause Cohen more problems. (2) “Hey, what about all those crimes my lawyer was committing in this other field while he was representing me!” (3) “I knew my lawyer was a crook! That’s why I hired him!”
  5. “I might not have known about this meeting, which is why I helped Dotard Jr craft his first statement about it on AF1.”
  6. At this meeting of steel workers, apparently Dotard promised them that the company was opening 7 new plants. They are not. (As a side note, if the President lies about your firm to its benefit (or detriment), and that moves the stock price, is that material enough to go into your companies 10k?)

Giuliani in May: “No. I expect that he is going to cooperate with them. I don’t think they’ll be happy with it because he doesn’t have any incriminating evidence about the president or himself. The man is an honest, honorable lawyer. And despite the Times article today, which is totally baseless, as far as I can tell, but you know, that’s his lawyer’s issue where they had to help.”

Giuliani in July: “He has lied all his life… a person who is found to be an incredible liar, he’s got a tremendous motive to lie now… I don’t think anyone believes that.”

The 13 Angry Democrat Witch Hunters are getting so desperate that they’re blaming Trump for the actions of another random guy that also happens to be named Donald Trump. Whom President Trump barely knows, maybe he met him a few times but he meets lots of people. Sad!

If somebody knew that the next day, Il Douche was going to bluster a tariff threat to the soybean market, they could have plundered, wholesale. And if, a few days later, they knew in advance that he was going to back-peddle (wretched pun intended), they could make another handsome profit betting the opposite way.

Trump is broke. He’s out there grubbing every nickel and dime, he is monetizing like a motherfuck. And here was a perfect set of opportunities to pull down a metric buttload of money. Given our modern financial system’s creative use of margins and leverage, a shit-ton buttload of bucks.

So, anybody know a way to find out who might have been fiscally clairvoyant? Half expect to hear a tape of Il Douche saying “Yes, yes, we could do that.” And later claim that the tape was in error and left off before he said “But it would be wrong!”

Followed by the no-nonsense, straight from the shoulder truthiness of “Operation Condor” and “My daughter loves that little dog, and I did not fuck that little dog!”

Rudy, you are a credit to your President PantsOnHead. (My kindle has allowed me to add “PantsOnHead” to its dictionary. But it still won’t save “fuck.” Go figure. )

He will soon pull that explanation out of his ass, no doubt.

FTR and FWIW, I agree that the weight of the evidence very strongly implies that Trump Sr was aware of the meeting.

To the cited point about timing, you need to add the calls to a blocked number, plus Steve Bannon’s assessment that Trump Jr would certainly have told his father about it.

Also Nunberg:

“You know he knew about it. He was talking about it a week before, I don’t know why he went around trying to hide it,” said Nunberg.

Two years ago today…

Of course, the odd thing is, of all the security breaches in 2016, Hillary’s server was… as things stand now… not one of them.

Don Jr can’t even post a photo of a sandwich without tagging his father 8 times so I can’t imagine him not telling his dad about this meeting.

I was with you up until that last sentence. At that point, I have no idea what you’re talking about.

Help?

Forget it, Greathouse. It’s Lucitown.

You guys are too young to get the references.

As I said about six months ago, I picture the Mueller investigation like that scene in The Ten Commandments where the old lady greasing the skids gets her robe caught under a pyramid block. Only it isn’t an innocent old lady but an overseer with a whip who was capering about waving the whip. And John Derek is just standing there, laughing.

In the meantime

Excuse me stewardess, I speak geriatric.

The reference is before my time as well, but it’s clearly a Nixon “Checkers” reference.

Or how aboutthis one which also has the advantage of perfectly matching the personality of the antagonist.

Funny. How many of us KNEW about this meeting (and others) long ago and were told it was bullshit??? Now how about the rest of the stuff we already know about???

But Hillary emails!!! Uh huh.

But it does show that Trump was expecting to have some dirt delivered into his nasty little hands.

Nixon, the “Checkers speech”.

Some of us were even there.
