It would seem to me that with this information now in Mueller’s (and Congress and the public’s) hands, it’s now too late for DOTUS to fire Mueller without triggering immediate impeachment proceedings for obstruction of justice and more public outcry against him. Is this faulty logic?

JMHO, but I actually think this has been the case for quite some time. Ever since it became clear that Mueller has done a dynamite job of distributing his workload among various US attorneys’ offices, the IRS, several states attorneys’ offices and others, TrumpCo is screwed. Even if Trump fires Mueller, Rosenstein, Sessions, the whole FBI, the entire DOJ… these matters go forward.
Which means he’s going to do his best to break everything before he goes down in flames. We’re in very dangerous times, I believe.

After the Helsinki summit, Trump was all excited about his new best friend Vlad and had to make up excuses when Vlad said “Don’t call me, I will call you… cyka.” So now that Vlad has declined having a sleepover at Donnie’s place, Trump has simply gone ahead and invited himself to Moscow.
The article — or at least the headline — implies that rather than inviting himself, he’s open to an invitation from Godfather Vlad. Though his BQ (Boorish Quotient) is certainly high enough for him to crash the Kremlin.

The rumor I’ve heard is that Cohen can name others, or an other, in the room when “it” occurred, “it” being, perhaps, the calls from Don, Jr. to the infamous blocked number, or, alternatively, in-person discussion between Trump and another person who’d be attending the meeting.
Whatever “it” is, Cohen can provide an additional witness to Mueller who can attest that Trump knew about the meeting in advance. (Or so it’s said.)

Yes, any news that Mueller can’t find collusion certainly is ridiculous.
I’m mostly shocked that Mueller isn’t wearing a tie. I always imagine him putting on a suit and tie as soon as he gets out of the shower and not even loosening the perfect Windsor knot until he’s ready to go back to sleep.
A full Windsor is a bit showy for Mueller, don’t you think?
I have been worried for some time now about the personal safety of Mueller, Rosenstein and other key members of the team. Hopefully even Trump isn’t corrupt enough to try to arrange an assassination (and probably too incompetent to pull it off) but Putin would have no such scruples. I could see him suggesting to his best bud Don that he could take care of this investigation thing for him, no problem. Has some spare polonium and nerve poisons in the medicine cabinet he’d be happy to donate.
I’m sure this possibility has occurred to others with more expertise in these areas than me, and appropriate safeguards are being taken. But I still worry.
