A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

“Agents were authorized to use the megadonor’s hands and face to unlock any phones that required fingerprint or facial scans.” You mean like chop off his fingers as in the movies?

No, no, nothing that savage. They surgically removed them.

And their faces.

Cool!

Trump knows all *kinds *of pathologies.

Trump has the best pathologies!

Everyone says so.

His pathologies are so good he’s certifiably pathological!

There’s no justice like poetic justice. Prosecutors used a new law Trump signed to get data from Cohen’s Gmail: Prosecutors used a new law Trump signed to get data from Cohen's Gmail

Ahhhhhhhhhh… that explains the Tweetstorm.

This makes me so happy.

Donald Trump: 4-D chess Grandmaster.

(or, is it 12-D?)

I think Melania’s new kidneys make him a 34-DD chest master.

No wonder she needs a body double these days…

Rosenstein will stay at the DOJ “a little longer” than previously planned.

I wonder why.

His replacement, Jeffrey Rosen, hasn’t been confirmed by Congress yet so we would probably expect that Rosenstein would be continuing to stay in place, just on that basis.

The real question is the extent to which the Republican-lead Congress drags their feet in confirming Rosen. Given that two of the RNC finance committee members had their offices raided for financial crimes, last year, I think the congresscritters are probably a whole lot more aware of what all Trump brought to the table with him than your average voter is.

At the end of the day, Mueller is a Republican, Rosenstein is a Republican, Paul Ryan is a Republican, James Comey was a Republican, John McCain was a Republican, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were Republicans, Richard Burr is a Republican, Jeff Sessions is a Republican, etc. Fox headlines aside, Trump and his associates are being put through the wringer by his own side, and while they’re probably quite happy that everyone thinks it’s a Liberal undertaking, they’re probably pretty happy with anything that quietly locks up all the slimeballs that started knocking on their doors, just after January 2017, peddling treason.

So while it may seem like - based on the antics of Trey Gowdy, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and Devin Nunez - that the Republican party is going to inordinate lengths to protect the President, I think it’s relatively likely that they’re not going to move very fast in giving Rosen his hearing so long as Rosenstein doesn’t explicitly quit and Trump doesn’t explicitly fire him.

My expectation is that Trump will end up having to explicitly fire him.

From a scan of the headlines, the thrust from the right so far seems to be (with the usual blithe disregard for inherent contradiction) that the yet unseen Mueller report:

a) Completely exonerates Trump and everyone in his orbit,

b) Was a complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars that never should have happened,

c) Is the product of a partisan witch hunt by Democrats and nothing in it should be believed.

I suspect (b) and especially © to be amplified commensurate with whatever information trickles out.

9 AM and no tweets?

Those certainly seem to be the themes being repeatedly echoed by the Facebook trolls.

I mean, let’s all imagine that maybe the report has some really explosive stuff in it like that they have statements from the president himself that he fired the FBI director because that director was investigating him, or that he specifically asked the Russians to hack his political opponents emails. Hooboy, if we knew that to be the case, it would be pretty damning, no?
