I once punished one of my cats for ripping the wig off a doll by making him wear it. He just left it alone, I think he secretly liked it. He only has one eye so it was rather funny seeing this tough looking one-eyed cat in golden ringlets. I also have some pics of him wearing Darth Tater’s helmet. I must get around to uploading those pics someday.
soapy, hang in there, kitty’s probably just teasing you.
Right?
In other news, I met the Woman of my Dreams today. We’ve been phone tagging to set up a time she could interview me for the quasi-government agency she works for and we finally got together today. I think I was anticipating someone all beaurocratic and stuffy, and in walks this tall, dark, gorgeous thing with just a light hispanic accent. Grrr.
This is spring fever, right?
While your crossing appendages, cross some for Mr Rebo. He just had an awesome interview with a competitor company where he worked two jobs ago. The guy is VERY interested in him. w00t!!!
Hugs, trouts, etc.!
Hey Puggy! That’s great news!!!
I’ve just spent 3 hours pre-polishing silverware. I think it’s time for a nap before I start the next phase.
This is why I’m glad we’re not taking a big vacation this year. I can use most of my vacation time for a half day off here and there when I’m feeling burned out and/or when it’s really nice outside and I just want to get away from work for a few hours. Traveling’s great, but those “I’m gonna kill my coworkers if I don’t get outta here” days off are even better.
Yay for the good job interviews. Fingers crossed for **Pugs **and Mr. Rebo.
taxi, for my vacation in August, I don’t really plan on going anywhere. May take a longish weekend thing so we can take my son on some sort of vacation, but that’s about it.
I take two weeks of vacation in August every year. I find that one week isn’t enough. Two weeks gives me time to decompress and get some things done.
I’m taking another week, starting the 27th of September to go to Hawaii. This will be second year for that. While I’m looking forward to that, I’d really rather just save the money. Of course, I can’t really express that to my husband or the friends we’re going with.
Crossing fingers for all the jobs. If everyone could add my MiL to the list, she’s applied for a couple of positions, and we’re hoping she gets some permanent work.
I’m on Attack’s Husband’s laptop. Quasi-Daughter says she’ll cut my feet off if I go up and down the stairs. Mr. Lissar agrees with her.
Right. So, conditioning newborns to be awake during the day is accomplished how?
Thinking good thoughts for everybody!
I’ve finished a major bit of homework and as a plus it gives me something to share on the kimono board. I just need to upload it to my site.
Apparently the MMP has some serious job-finding mojo lately.
The Boy just got a tentative job offer from Big Corporate. Which is good, because he was starting to outgrow Little Independent Shop and getting very frustrated with his job in general. Details to be discussed later today, and contracts to be signed sometime after that, assuming the offer is to his satisfaction.
I think I’m more excited about the job offer than he is. Mostly because he’s freaking out about how to tell his boss if he decides to leave.
Crossing fingers for everyone else who’s job-hunting. May the MMP force be with you.
No fantastic news for DH, jobwise. He’s just back there as a fill-in for someone on vacation. At least they thought of him and asked the placement agency for him.
As for me, still doing the same thing as ever.
Howdy Y’all! Three down and two to go!
I delivered soup a little bit ago. You would’ve thought I’d brought gold. Then again my soup is that good!
Ok, so I have appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for Puggy, The Boy, LiLi’s MIL and Mr. Rebo. Good stuff just has to come out of all of that!
LiLi I say it’s never too early for caffiene. Then again, nobody’s ever asked me to write a book on child rearin’ so what do I know.
The Dindin Fairy is comin’ tonight! Ok, so it’s really OYKW bringin’ pizza but still, I ain’t cookin’ so it’s all good.
gotti we’re still pullin’ for DH too.
Ruble I vote for tossin’ the chawklit painful as that may be. Possible 25 year old chawklit just cannot be a good thing.
Ok, I need to make coleslaw for tomorrow’s fish ‘n chips doin’s. This time I am actually makin’ it from scratch with cabbage, carrots and onions rather than just buyin’ the bagged stuff. I’m all nice like that.
That was a lousy nap. I feel like I didn’t sleep at all.
And I promised that I’d be at water aerobics tonight. Ugh.
I had a dream the other night that I stole a pair of sneakers from a shoe store store while it was closed for the night. I wanted to try them out, planning to take them back in the morning to pay for them. But then I realized if I walked back in to the store with the stolen sneakers, they wouldn’t just let me pay and merrily go on my way. They’d probably call the police. So then I was trying to figure out how to get the shoes back into the store without anyone finding out that I’d taken them in the first place. And then get back in again to buy them.
I woke up before I had a solution.
Siding and trim is all done. All that remains is the gutter install and the solar tube. The siding/trim guys are cleaning up their mess. They sure pack a lot of stuff on to that truck! They did break one of my concrete planters, but it’s no biggie. I’m not even going to say anything to the contractor - the planters are ugly and I just used them because I had them. So now I’m down to 4. Big deal…
Work was boring - with the impending reorg, those of us who don’t have continuing projects pretty much don’t have anything. I’m thinking I’ll take tomorrow afternoon off. We’re going to buy the railing stuff for the deck and finish that this weekend. Then I can transplant my azaleas around the new deck. Yay!!
SIL got his butt in gear and got registered for classes. He and I discussed the money - we’re fronting him the tuition and he’ll pay us back starting next month. Apparently he has to retake one class… grrr on that. Oh well - at least he’s taking it all seriously.
Meatloaf for supper tonight, with rice, gravy, broccoli, and peach cobbler again for dessert.
Pizza et and slaw made. All is good in bearland. It’s rainin’. That makes me sleepy. I’m thinkin’ really early night tonight cause I’ve been sleepified all day.
We’re cooking some of Muppet’s pork empanadas for dinner. I still have high blood pressure, sigh, and have to go to my family doctor tomorrow morning for nine, which sounds impossible given that a) I’m not supposed to climb stairs, and b) I expect to be awake most of the night.
Oh, well. Mr. Lissar and Thomas and I will have an adventure in cross-eyed-ness.
Good on the job news for The Boy, Muppet!
Maybe we’ll have takeout tomorrow. Is there a way to encourage visitors to bring wine?
Wow, all that promising job news at once! Good thoughts headed out for** Puggy**, Mr. Rebo, The Boy, DH, LiLi’s MIL and anyone else who’s job hunting.
Funny baby dreams. Must be all the talk of babies in the MMP.
Chocolate sounds kinda…likely to be ick, ruble. I’d be tempted to try just a teeny tiny bit, though.
Mmmmm, pork empanadas sound good. As for the wine…ask for it. New parents get to do that for a while.
Gotta get to sleep early. i hardly slept last night and need to have energy tomorrow.
Hugs.
GT
Yay for jobs! Good luck for everyone! :: blows kisses ::
I’ve miraculously finished everything that needs to be done by today, so I’ll have a somewhat easier day at work for once. Still have essays to grade though. Poo.
We’re going to go visit my great uncle again tomorrow. I guess he told his daughter that he doesn’t feel like he has many more days left. I certainly hope that he’s wrong, but we definitely want to make sure that we see him as often as we can while he’s still here. He’s the one with MS who is bedridden.
Otherwise, I’m just treading water. (Literally, earlier tonight.)
I got my haircut, went to taijitsu, and posted a bunch of photos on facebook. And now we’re having roast beef. nom nom nom.
