A Very Memorable MMP

We finally got a new vacuum today. Also a mop, and some dusting thingies. I also finally got my hair cut. I needed it. I was beginning to sport a similar style to all those shaggy teenage boys I see nowadays. That’s not a group I want to emulate. I also got some new bras and t-shirts and took the parents for lunch at the Mexican place we always go to when we go to Alexandria.

We love you too, BooFae! Does she love us, or does the beer love us?

I think I might be getting Mr. Lissar’s cold. I came home early in order to nurse it with orange juice and vitamin c. I don’t want to be more sick.

Home.

Yay Cup Finals! Boo(N.O.B.) work!

Barry is drizzling on me, we need it.

Get better LiLi!

I lurv U BooFae, kin I buy u a breski?

BioTigs, another illusion shattered.

Good job, Jahdra, I haven’t had CC debt in 3 years.

Laughs at SO. I’m off tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

HHii HHaazzee!! HHooww yyaa ddooiinngg??

sigh

More computer problems. This time it seems like the on-board network adapter on my motherboard up and died. Lost my internet connection. I was still technically connected to the net (I could connect from my PocketPC via WiFi) but it wasn’t getting through to my computer. Fortunately I have several spare network cards lying around in my junk box. (I don’t know how these things accumulate, but I’m glad they do.) Unfortunately, the only spare PCI slot left on my motherboard is covered up by my video card (double-height two-cards-on-one thing; it’s massive) so I had to remove my capture card to install it. Man … when I said “they don’t make 'em like they used to,” I didn’t think I’d be referring to hardware made before 2005.

Woot! STUFF!!

I finally was able to get some movers to come and bring me my stuff from storage (which includes all my stuff from being a wee tyke and through college.) I’ll have to scan some things in (no photos - my camera is still on it’s way from Tokyo) and post 'em once I’ve gotten everything out and created a proper mess in the middle of everywhere.

Heh, this is so great. Opening boxes of forgotten old belongings has to be the greatest thing ever. It’s way past Christmas since each one you open is like, “Yeah, this is so much something I would want to buy!”

I get that when I go visit the parents(they throw away nothing).

EEE! OMG, Swampy, that would be impossible, as I am well into menopause. No, that med, Relafen, is an NSAID prescription strength for arthritis. You have to take it w/food–one of the side effects is nausea. I must say, though, that I made out okay with it today and my knees didn’t feel as bad today either. I just had a previous experience with a pain killer that I took on an empty stomach that gave me terrible dry heaves (I think that was something w/codeine in it).

Back to perusing the MMP … I just had to respond to this one to ensure that no-one thought I was preggers!!

about an hour ago, I realized I couldn’t sleep. So I just finished a Mike’s Hard Berry (not my favorite flavor, but it did the trick) so I am going back to bed.

Obligatory slightly tipsy Love Youse Guys!

I LOVe YOU AL TOO~!!

dear lord. someone save me from mylsef!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

seriously. I. shold not. get drunk. when around cetain people.

Ah well. at least I didn’t do anything that I haven’t done before.

Did I mentione that I love you all?

Hey, Haze, sounds like you’re a fun person to get drunk with!

Instead, here I am, stuck at work (OK, y’all finished laughing now? :)), waiting for some stupid-ass batch job to run so I can check if it runs… – and doping instead of keeping an eagle’s eye on the process’ monitoring.

(And I love you all too, even if I’m not drunk. Yes, that means my judgement is suspect even at the best of times :p)

As it happens, I got my info packet for the show I’m doing next week and it included a checklist which I emailed to you. I added a couple of thoughts of my own also. But you definitely want to prepare for a long day outside - it may pass fast, but it could also d-r-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-g-g-g-g-g on - hard to tell.

Yep, I’m up early and I’ve done doggie duty. It’s raining a wee bit here but we’re at the beginning edge of the front (Barry, is that you??) According to my weather site, it’s gonna rain all day today and into tomorrow. Wonder how that will affect **FCD ** and his boat work plans??

I had a dream last night that a big ol’ bandsaw fell out of a guy’s truck and totalled my new car. I was not happy. No idea why it was a bandsaw - is that in someone’s dream interpretation book?

Time to forage for some caffeine. Bottom shelf of fridge in garage - Diet Coke - breakfast of champions! Not gonna taunt **Special One ** about being at work, 'cause I’m nice, dammit!

Good morning, MMP!

What could be better than waking up to a dog trying to hornk in your bed? At 4:45 on a Sunday morning! He didn’t puke, but there was a lovely poop by the bed. Ah, the joys of dog ownership.

Oh, no, Haze, not that guy again? You are such a happy drunk!

Yay on the STUFF, OWWO!

Haze, BooFae, how’s the head?

I’m up and caffeinating, going to head out to church in a bit. Today I’ll sort my giant pile o’ magazines, and shred some old stuff. Barry’s still drizzling on me here.

Rebo, Maggie’s done that a few times. It’s still easier to clean up than beagle hornk.

Yay on gettin’ your stuff OhWiseVermin! Nuttin’s better than bein’ surrounded by one’s own stuff.

Rebo Ernie is a lil’ cutie. And it’s so nice of him to leave you little presents! How thoughtful of him!

Herbs just had to check. What with LiLi bein’ with child and Dots showin’ us pictures of SugarBaby, I thought perhaps things were beginnin’ to take a turn towards babies.

Up and caffienatin’ here. Casserole is settin’ out to come to room temp and shall be baked shortly. Then it’s church and brunch time! Hope we have Bloody Mary’s today. During brunch that is. BM’s durin’ church would be weird even for us Whiskypalians.

Looks like the rain is outta here but we’re promised more towards midweek. I hope. The good news is it looks like next Saturday will be really nice. That’s important because it’s my BIL’s birthday bash next Saturday and we’re goin’ up to party with Sis and BIL. Plus to see Mom. I’m lookin’ forward to it cause they have some innerestin’ friends which makes for some fun partyin’!

Well, haven’t I been productive!

Loaded the dishwasher - it just finished. Scrubbed the kitchen sink, fed my sweetie, vacuumed the family room/living room/dining room. I need to get down to the basement and get to work - I’ve only got about 6 hours left to be productive.

**FCD ** just left for the boat, and it’s still raining. The house is open taking advantage of the cooler weather.

It’s 9AM and I’m exhausted! What’s wrong with this picture??

Off to the basement…

Older people tire more easily dear. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m all purtified for church and casserole is baked and in the cute lil’ pyrex tote thingy where it will stay all warm and toasty til brunch. I like those tote thingies. Somebody is in the midst of purtification as I type.

It’s gonna be warm and sunny today with a high around 90 Amurrkin. I’m thinkin’ pool time will be in order this afternoon bein’ as we will have been well fed and da cave is in good order and all. That means loungin’ in the pool! YAY!!!

I forgot to mention it, but I got a letter in the mail yesterday from a place I sent a resume to oh… about three months ago. They wish me to call them in the morning and arrange a time to talk. So I shall. After all, why deprive them of the opportunity to meet me.

Morning, all. I won’t say “good” because it sure ain’t. I didn’t have a drop to drink last night, but I woke up with a throbbing, pounding, blinding headache worthy of Haze’s best drunk. Which it looks like she put on last night. Just lying in bed hurt more than I could stand, so I got up and took some ibuprofen and drank some coffee, and it’s now down to a moderate throb. But chances are we won’t go Swamp Romping as a result; I’m not sure an afternoon of loud music, however enjoyable, is really what I need.

I did have a scare this morning when I turned on my computer – all it would give me was the Black Screen O’ Death! Fortunately, I have my own in-house computer geek, and he was able to help me get it started in safe mode and find out that it was my external backup drive that was hanging up. So we uninstalled and unplugged it, and it finally booted. Whew! Not much is scarier than the Black Screen O’ Death!

I’m going to go back to caffeinating and nursing my headache now. Y’all have a nice day. Can someone else volunteer to do the MMP tomorrow, though? I’m honestly not sure I’m going to feel up to it.

Throat hurts a lot. Throwing up with a sore throat is even worse.

Mr. Lissar just left for mass. I’m slouching around waiting to throw up some more. I am so tempted to call and see if anyone can take my shift tonight, but I think that would be the beginning of a slide towards not working very much, and I need to feel a little productive.

It’s supposed to rain here, too. Thunderstorms on and off all day.

Good morning! How’s the head, Haze?

haze, let’s recap:
weather ok? Check.
Drinks served? Check.
Drinks consumed? Check.
More drinks? Check.
Drunken Post? Check.

I was up at 8, am caffeinated, fed and Doping. Soon I shall head to the food stors to stock up on some things for the mini-horde of friends dropping by later to help us with the pulled pork sammiches I’m making out of the 4 lb loin sitting in the crock pot right now.

Also, there’s no wind today, making conditions ripe for a long bike ride up and down the Fox River. If there’s a south wind, I do that ride coming home into the wind, which I refuse to do. Nothing worse than riding 12 miles only to turn around and find yourself fighting the wind to get home.

BrainyMouse excellent on boxes of stuff! That’s like a birthday, only you know you like all the stuff in the packages already, because it’s already yours!

BSOD in the morning? I’d have wet my pants, fallen down, assumed the fetal position and commenced drooling on myself.

Ok, off to commence the day.
