A year in MMPs – some statistics and stuff

Home early again - yay! Lunch was leftover tuna-noodle casserole - always better the second day. I need to get some laundry done - **FCD ** was out of white socks this morning, so he had to wear tan - poor baby…

My weekend plans may change. Sunday was supposed to be a b-day party for my mom, but it appears it was a really bad date for 3 of my sibs. It would suit me fine if it was canceled - I really don’t relish a 90 minute drive up there, and, of course, the 90 minute return. So I’m waiting to hear what the deal is. Other plans, still in play, include getting rid of trash and recycling, mulching leaves, and moving firewood. Oh yeah, I live the wild rural livestyle here.

I’m going to need to stoke another fire, too - it’s right brisk again today, and free wood is lots cheaper than heating oil.

Happy Firday, all!

Hah!

Well, maybe I have seen them but just haven’t noticed them…

Just ordered a shitload of embroidery threads for my cross-stitching project. I’m thinking of making something for one of our friends whose wife is due in August - we are all quite appalled at the idea that he’s going to be a father, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make something nice for the baby.

Is it okay to eat ramen for breakfast? I guess it’s more like lunchtime now.

Hooray for me! I managed to make it to Curves today. I joined in November, I think, and only went like three times since. Hopefully I can make it a regularly occuring activity.

Work is done for the day and naptime is coming soon.

Sean, I think you’ve correctly identified the problems with tuna noodle casserole.

beebs, sorry I missed you. Yes, of course, your work is more important that my entertainment. (maybe)

Well of course! That’s because he is not serious about entertaining you!

Now me, I feel your entertainment is much more important than my work.
Only trouble is my work has to take higher priority sometimes… And then there’s the problem with weekend activities taking me away from where I can entertain you

Glad today was better for you! Hope you have a good weekend.

Haze? The hat? No. For one thing, I don’t see why you’d want any kind of distinctive head-gear catching [del]men’s[/del] people’s eyes and taking them away from your face – gaudy hats are for ugly girls, IMHO!

Lili, you have some serious relaxation to do, young lady!

Anybody seen **Spaz **lately?

::blushes:: Awww… thanks.

Ok, naptime now.

bye bye

I ran all my errands in less than 2 hours. Of course, I forgot the dry cleaners entirely, but still! A record.

I have ONE patient tomorrow, so I’ll be alone… no ancillary help at all. Of course, the notion that this pt could be an axe murderer with a thing for nurses never seems to occur to administration. Having acute assessment skills, I will note the axe right away, though, and run screaming for the exit.

Made biscotti again and am now watching the last two episodes of season 2 of House. Mmmm…Hugh Laurie.

I am out of the shower and giving my hair a little bit of time to air dry before I assault it with the blow dryer and flat iron. Then I shall be on my way to take care of my various errands. Hopefully, the length of time it takes me to complete my errands will mirror rigs’.

I had planned on showering sooner, but my daughter decided to take a loooooooooong shower right when I when I was I was heading up the stairs to take mine. So, not being a fan of cold showers, I had to wait for a bit.

My poor doggie just urped. Poor thing, he tried to make it outside, but at least he had the grace to urp on the vinyl flooring and not the carpet. He’s outside now, hopefully he’ll feel better soon.

Well, I was a bad girl – stopped on the way home from the doctor’s office at the Amish market and picked up a pretzel log (cheese flavor) for lunch. We’re talking fresh homemade pretzel dough wrapped around lovely homemade cheese and then cooked like a pretzel, with bits of salt sprinkled on the outside. To say it is Teh Yum is the understatement of the year. I can even pretend it’s nutritious since it’s made with all-natural ingredients. Right? Right?

And then I took Isaac out to chase his Kong, which he did with great enthusiasm until the lure of the Evil Attack Squirrels on the back fence drew him away. At which point I came in to warm up my chilly toes. Staying warm outside when it’s cold is easy when you’re moving around; when you’re sitting still, it’s definitely less easy. At least I’m behind a tall fence so I can wrap my legs up in a blankie when it gets too chilly without anyone seeing me to mock me.

I guess I should actually do some paying work – finish this stupid depo because I’ve got a pile of stuff winging its way to me that sounds like it might even possibly be interesting. I’m not holding my breath, however; experience has, alas, taught me otherwise.

Or maybe I should just take a nap…

I have an elderly aunt who makes toilet roll covers- or she used to, she doesn’t do big projects anymore. I thought everyone was required to have an aunt who makes damn ugly crafts, crocheted or that plastic needlpoint canvas stuff. I thought it was Natural Universal Law. My ex-fiance had these awesomely ugly things meant to hang on the wall that his family called Torture Rabbit and Straitjacket Rabbit.

Just got up from a nap (the cats kindly allowed me to share the bed) and put some binding around the edges of a yard of plastic quilted stuff. So the baby’s mattress cover is done. I’m going to rip up some of our old sheets to make sheets sometime tonight or tomorrow.

I think I’ll wash 15 minutes’ worth of dishes, and then lounge around on the couch.

A Mumper Poll: (background…)

We have three resident cats. Marty, the 14 yr old male, Evil Fat Scarlett and of course, the mighty Cuervo. The Wife has always wanted another Maine Coon, ever since we lost Ernie, who was the Best Cat Ever.

Cuervo plays by himself a lot. The older cats do NOT want to play with him.

I found a shelter about 40 minutes from me that has three young, male Maine Coons.

I present:

Mateo

Herbie

and,

Boo Scaries

The Wife is wavering. On one hand, she doesn’t want to upset ‘the balance’. I say the balance sucks now, as Cuervo has no young playmate.

On the other hand, she dearly wants another boy, and a Maine Coon.

My personal favorite (I talked to the shelter cat lady too) is Boo Scaries. She said he plays with all the other cats but is not overbearing, and is the most people friendly cat too.

What say ye all? Do I leave these fellas to sit in their sad little cat room, or rescue one to keep my Cuervo company?

Disclaimer: If you talk me into this, the Wife WILL know it’s at least half your fault.

Boo looks the most playful of the three, if photos are anything to judge by. I say Cuervo needs a playmate, dammit! Poor neglected kittycat!

(In other words, my vote is a resounding “Hell, yes!” to the question of whether you should adopt one!)

I vote for kitty rescue. I’ve been lobbying for another kitty rescue here, but my spousal unit is being a poopyhead about it. Plus we will inherit another cat in May when the kid moves in. So I shall live vicariously thru you - go for it!!!

Go for it MBG. Heck, I ain’t gotta take care of it so it’s not a prob for me.

I have been orientated. Should be innerestin’. We shall see come nine a.m. Monday morning. It looks possible to flex my time so’s I could have like Firdays off if’n I want, or work part of a day and such.

Supper is pizza. Ol’ y’all know who is pickin’ it up. He didn’t want two nights in a row of chili. Thus, he shall have chili tomorrow instead. Ok, chilidawgs, but still chili.

Later Y’all!

Any way Cuervo can pick out his own new playmate? You know neutral territory where the two can meet? Although, boo scaries is just way to close to our boo fae not to be an omen.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, whenever possible, add a friendly, adorable kitteh to the household. Tell **BusWife ** I said it was mandatory.
And I also vote for Boo

Ahhhh. I got up, picked up my paycheck, ran to the bank and then to the post office to send a couple of bills, cleaned out my car, went to the grocery store, got in the shower and when I got out of the shower it was snowing! And it’s not going to stop anytime soon. I guess the storm was just running a bit late, since it was supposed to start last night, but now the weather people are saying we’re going to get 5-8 inches today. YAY! And I get to sit inside and enjoy it. By the time I leave for work tomorow the plows will have been and probably will still be out in force so I should be able to get there without any serious problems.

I too vote for a playmate for Cuervo. It may not be easy at first but I’ve seen kitties go from enemies to inseparable. Now I want a kitty too. Come this next spring I have to find a place I can get a kitty.

The hat – not my sort of thing, the flowers are too big, but while the colors aren’t my sort of thing they’re not bad, IMO.

:: carries sign reading “Give Boo A New Home!!” ::

I’m going to buck the trend and vote for Herbie.

You should then proceed to cut the hair on his back to form the number “53” of course…

**SnowBunny **-- yay for snow. Double yay for having finished all your errands first so you can auto-hypnotize yourself looking out the window…
What? Of course I never did such a thing!

I have discovered that the reason I can’t do pincurls is the same reason I suck at cross-stitching - I lack meticulous…ness. Lord, give me patience, for I am sorely lacking.

I think I’m going to make nanaimo bars, or whatever those things are called.

It’s cold out - very cold. But is it so cold that I feel inclined to make dinner instead of going out?

Tough question…

It’d help if I knew what I wanted to eat. Must cogitate.
