A year in MMPs – some statistics and stuff

mmmmmmmmmm, it’s not nice to taunt me when it comes to chocolate…

Idiot Bernie is on walkabout again. When I saw her, she was halfway to her escape thru the fence and there was no way I could catch her. Idiot. So I’m keeping an eye out the window for her return.

There’s a commercial on TV for a hot tub. I want a hot tub. And chocolate. But not a hot tub full of chocolate - that’s just messy. And it’d clog the filter.

I have smudged the house, the cats, the wife, and the self with white sage. And I wish it were snowy, but “not raining” is good, too.

No snow or rain here. Although, I guess there are some rather strong gusts of winds in the Cascade foothills. They’re recorded gusts in the 50s and are expecting gusts in the 80s. I was cruising our local news sites, and there was a picture of a house with a tree that had fallen through it.

I don’t wanna go to work tomorrow. In fact, I don’t ever want to go to work again. Someone needs to get on that making me independently wealthy thing.

I should do some stuff around the house.

I woke up this morning to find Nelly has eaten 1/4 can of Pringles(Cheddar/jalapeno) and had gotten tangled in the Christmas tree. Wanna trade idiots?

Hmmmm… did you think to check the liquor cabinet or count the number of beers left in the fridge? Sounds like quite a party.

It is FREEEEEEEEEEEZING outside, but a friend has asked me to join her at a coffee shop, so I must brave the elements. See y’all later. Shoshana, please take our snow. You can keep it. Really.

Thanks, Doggio, but no. I’ve got my idiot back. I went out with a leash and saw her in the neighbor’s back yard. So she didn’t go far - just thru the fence and thru their woods to the cleared area. I went back and hooked to her collar, and we came back home in the frosty evening. Stoopit dog.

The leftover veggies from the corned beef and cabbage are warming up. There’s a wee bit of corned beef leftover also. Mebbe afterwards, I’ll take my sweetie out for dessert…

I spent the afternoon in my PJs on the sofa with my feet up, watching the outdoor hockey game with Papa Tigs and alternately knitting, reading, and being bored. There is nothing motivating me to do anything today, unfortunately. Plus yesterday I had a knot in the muscle in my back right behind my left shoulderblade, which was annoying enough, but today it moved down to the middle of the left side of my back. So it hurts to do just about anything, since I’m left-handed. :: pout ::

Anyway, I expect that is what I shall continue to do for the rest of the day. Absolutely nothing, that is. Because, frankly, I can’t be arsed to do anything about it. Sigh.

I do not like windy snow. Snow which falls straight down, in a picturesque manner, on a non-school night - that’s good snow. You move it off the driveway and sidewalks and it stays where you put it.

Bad snow blows all over and returns to where you moved it from.

Today we have bad snow.

This duck smells SOOOO good.

Thanks, swampy. I’m back home now. The roads weren’t too good coming back here, but got better as I got closer to home.

Still feeling kind of crappy, though.

Allo all! I skimmed. I was about to pout that I’d been overlooked for the two MMPs I started until I figured out that they must have been before 07. Okay, so assign me a week and I’ll defrost Dog Face Woman.

Speaking of defrosting. We are expecting a BIG CHILL here starting tonight with the worstest cold happening tomorrow night/Weds morning. They are saying a low of 28. That will do very bad things to all the landscaping. Mr. Anachi is crying. :frowning:

NYE amounted to watching Shreck II and going to bed before Midnight. But here’s my heartfield wish for all my pals here to have a great 2008!

I gotta go feed the dawgs cause they say they is starving. Poor thangs.

Tupug

Wow Puggy, I’ve been absent since June’06 and I remember Dog Face Woman.

Ooh! Ooh! Oooooh! ::relative newbie raises her hand:: Whats a Dog Face Woman???

I’m awake again! Prime rib in the oven, and scalloped NOT awaiting said oven.

Thanks for reminding me, Puggy - we are supposed to freeze overnight tonight and tomorrow night. Gotta move the plants in. Only three, since I brought some in to “decorate” when we had company. My plants do so much better when I just leave them alone outside. 'Cept when they freeze!

I’ve been watching the Twilight Zone marathon on and off. There are some I don’t think I’ve ever seen! Hard to believe.

My world famous veggie lasagne sauce is simmering away and the Christmas tree is half down and laundry is in the dryer.

I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow. Stoopid job. Stoopid bills.

I’ve steam cleaned the cat’s vomitorium and now the carpet is clean. I’m sure I’ll be rewarded for my efforts with fresh hork in the next 24 hours. Stoopid cats.

It’s an otherwise quiet day. I hope 2008 is a good year for everyone.

Yeah, it’s supposed to be 25 tonight, 20 tomorrow night, then high 20’s - low 30’s Thursday and Friday. After that it’s supposed to warm back up to high 60’s - low 70’s. I’m hopin’ the warm up brings more rain. We need lots and lots and lots of rain. Still, I’m glad for the bug killin’ low temps. Stoopid flies! Go away!

I’s tahred! I should empty the dishwasher but that prolly ain’t happenin’ til tomorrow. I foresee an early to bed night tonight. Ol’ y’all know who has gone to his place cause he works tomorrow. I’m a slouch the rest of the week since I don’t start the new gig 'til Monday.

Speakin’ of the new gig (the insurance thing), I may not be around much of next week cause I’ll be seein’ how things go. I have a meeting on Friday afternoon to get all the particulars down such as hours (I have a feeling it’ll be mid morningish to early eveningish) and all that good stuff. This particular site is officially opening on Monday and I have a feelin’ it’ll be a zoo for a few days. I do know it pays well and has good benefits which are the two things most important to moi right now. Oh and I still got me a couple other irons in the fire just in case.

Wow, that was rambly!

ETA: Shadow of course you’ll be rewarded. Cats are good like that.

Would that I could. I like shoveling, too. I’ll be in Chicago for a conference in March. Maybe that will convice me of the error of my snow nostalgia.

You are deeply good. My cat is well into her third week of colitis. Since some people are describing what they’re eating, I won’t describe what I’ve been cleaning up.

swampy, don’t you think it’s about time you decide what you wanna be when you grow up… wait, look who I’m talking to… :stuck_out_tongue:

We went to Bert’s for dessert. I had a Reese’s sundae and **FCD ** had a pistachio shake. It was good, but it’s really way too cold out to be eating ice cream-based desserts. Oh well. We’ve got our 'lectric blankie preheating the sheets - there’s nothing like crawling into toasty warm bedding on a cold night. I wish this chair was preheated - it’s a tad chilly in this room. I just bumped the thermostat up a coupla degrees. If it wasn’t so close to bedtime, I’d light a fire. Maybe tomorrow.

And thus ends my nice, long holiday weekend. The rest of this week should be pretty boring at the office, which suits me fine. Monday, insanity returns.

Yes it was.
I’ve had an exhausting day of watching hockey. I made jambalaya like food for dinner, now I am just chilling some beer for dessert.

swampy, it’s going to be cold here, too. We need more rain. Heck, even snow would be welcome.
