Certainly a more charitable opinion of him than I have when I see his threads.
I’ve pretty much reached the conclusion that he’s deliberately trolling. Somewhat reminiscent of Charlie Wayne. Of course I could be wrong and he could really be as absolutely stupid and worthless as he seems.
Why not a little bit of both?

I don’t think he’s trolling, not in the slightest. I think he’s a well-meaning guy who is totally baffled by everything that happens in current events.
Charlie Wayne was at least funny.
He’s from rural Arkansas…he is in his fifties…white…I wonder if he has a long lost lovechild who also posts here.

He’s also baffled that we’re not baffled. His meditations about how awesome things were in the 1970s all have that earnest, “you folks agree with me, don’t you” tone. His bizarre posts about sex, anatomy, and nudity are littered with winking-smileys, as if to say, “You guys get me, right?”
He’s been here since 2009 and has almost 20K posts. You’d think that, by now, he’d have an idea how threads like that will go.

So now Trump’s brand is synonymous with fraud. His scams only work on small, targeted groups; there is no way a significant number of Americans could be fooled.

Now acey is all upset that a Hamilton actor asked Mike Pence to work on behalf of all Americans. He thinks Pence deserves an apology.
His view of protests is just bizarre. Again, I’m pretty sure he thought that MLK got permits for all his protests so that he followed all the rules on making sure that the marches didn’t make anyone uncomfortable. I don’t think he knows how many times MLK went to jail. But an actor saying something at a curtain call? Civilization is threatened!!

I worked night security on campus for a while to pay for school and the lifers were just like him. It was scary.
Acey had trouble finding a restaurant that was open on Thanksgiving, and ended up eating at Denny’s. The conclusion that he draws from this experience: 40 percent of the U.S. population also ate at Denny’s that day, because the nuclear family is collapsing. He reminds me of Bob Greene, the sentimental columnist who could turn some trivial observation, like not finding a free shoeshine cloth in a hotel room, into evidence of the decline of civilization.
Oh, and he’s very, very, very, very angry about the Presidential election recounts. This is America! Challenging election results is simply not done! (He also doesn’t know what “sour grapes” means.)
I don’t hang out in the Pit much - lurk occasionally. I’ve seen this thread around and agree with the inappropriateness of ace’s comments. It’s weird, I see him in music threads regularly and don’t really encounter that side of him (which is true of many posters that turn out to drive folks crazy in threads on other topics).
I have to say, reading this thread now for the first time after Trump’s win is weird. Dopers - whom I agree with - are jumping all over ace for having a 1950’s view of women’s bodies, nosing into someone’s business, etc.
And yet his POV is at the core of the anger against PC-ness that got Trump into office. I talk with older family members who hate Trump as a person, but hate feeling condescended to by “Coastal Elites” (like me) who tell them it’s not okay to Attaboy a teen boy who gets to bonk his teacher, or that they must be Okay with gender fluidity when it comes to bathroom use, say.
They hate that feeling of being condescended to. So much that Progressives (like me) are on the outside looking in at the next U.S. Presidency AND Congress AND the Supreme Court.
So reading all of the bile directed at ace is kinda weird now. Does that make sense?
