Mrs. L.A. and I went for a walk along the beach on the berm just now. We went 1.3 miles, and I told her ‘Good job!’ Last time we walked together, we went just under a mile. We averaged just over 1 mph, which is difficult for me as my normal pace is just over 3 mph. She has a toe that hurts when she walks, so she’s reluctant to do it. I’ll have another cuppa joe, and then get out for my 3-mile walk.
Cleaned and napped. I had a grilled cheese for lunch.
Yeah, don’t go Full Orange 32.
GodBod,
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had an exceptionally good first Sunday brunch (lots of food and a wide variety of foodstuffs), and I survived the meetin’. It went for a little over two hours, so not to bad, I guess. Some things I expected to hear, and a few things that surprised me, but that’s the value and idea behind such surveys. Now I am at da cave, in shorts and a tshirt, and the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. No nappage and very little sloth today, so I imagine bedtime will be earlyish.
BooFae hope the back is doin’ better.
shoe do not murder co-irkers. That does not look good on a resume even if’n they deserved it.
Oopsie how sad for poor, neglected Bailey! Well, that’s the way she sees it! Have fun with the committee stuff and hope you get the Lego thingy figured out.
MOOOOOOM good for you for settin’ a deadline and lettin’ them know when you’ll be available and for how long. Daughter and SIL will figure it all out eventually, I am sure. Of course they have to figure it out, so it’s best to begin makin’ a plan soonest.
JtC hubby is definitely a keeper. So is mine, for the most part. We tolerate each other more than we tolerate most people, so I guess that’s a win.
Now 'tis time for major chillage.
3.13 miles accomplished, so a total of 4.13 miles today. I thought about cutting the second walk short today (2.6 miles), but then I thought ‘What are you? Crazy? Walk the extra quarter-mile and back, ya lazy bum!’
Gotta go buy a couple of tanks of propane for The Missus (after my shower). Then I think I’ll cook me a cheeseburger.
I hope that your back feels better soon BooFae.
Got some work done in the studio and called Sis in Houston for a couple of hours to wish her a happy birthday. The chili verde is good and I’m fixing to do KP before doing more on my project.
“But Your Honor, he needed killin’!”
I got done pretty much all I wanted to do today. Chillage shall now ensue. See ya in the next MMP!!
Some people just don’t know when to stop digging.
Good to have you back!

shoe do not murder co-irkers. [/quote] And if they really do need killing, don’t do it in front of the cameras!
This was his very first paid gig, he later confessed that he was so nervous that he wanted to throw up. He didn’t show it, he acted like he’s been sitting up there forever. I asked his wife if he was going to be able to take her on a luxury cruise with his earnings and she laughed really hard and said they just barely made gas money for both vehicles, LOL!
We know how to be good groupies, despite our lack of musical ability, we have many talented friends who have invited us to many different shows over the years and we always enjoy it.
That was kinda my thought as well. He wants a thing to happen, but paying for it isn’t what he had in mind.
Awwww!
Today I met a new neighbor when I was picking up some thistle. Her back yard butts up next to the BLM land so she has a wonderful view. I’m half jealous and half “how can you sleep during fire season”. The goldfinches are all happy and the rest of the flock has barley and peanuts so they will survive until we get our chewy order sorted out.
Oh yeah, I can’t imagine living with someone else, I’d kill 'em the first year.
Happy Sunday!
It’s cold outside.
We didn’t go to the park this morning. I’m not feeling well.
It may be time to see the doctor.
Then again, maybe not.
I get annoyed with doctors.
I got some test results back yesterday and they are negative.
Funny that the last time they were positive, but that was when I was seeing the doctor who wanted to see me every six weeks. She ordered all kinds of additional testing, but that was at the height of covid and I put the additional testing off. I never got test results from the lab that time, so who knows if she was telling the truth. She had put stuff in my records that weren’t true, and I told her so. She never took the false info out, so now every time I see a new doctor they say, oh, I see you have had such and such done. No, I haven’t, and I sure don’t appreciate the bullshit info in my records.
But anyway, negative results are a plus, and I don’t have to go through anymore bullshit.
I got a text from a collection agency. I figured it was bullshit but I called the number just in case.
As soon as the call picked up, I was told I owe $444.40. No mentioning my name, no indication of what it was for. Just 'our records show that you owe $444.40, how would you like to pay?
Uh huh
So, I called a different number to get a person.
He wanted to know who I am and I said you called me, so you should know who I am. He said no, he didn’t call and I said you texted. No way was I giving him my name. I did give him my number and he gave me a very butchered version of my mother’s name.
I said nope, wrong number. I wasn’t about to admit I’m her daughter, nor was I telling them that she is dead.
My mother never carried debt. She used one credit card to pay for everything, and at the beginning of the month she paid the card off. I find it very hard to believe she owes anybody anything. Also, when she died, her death notice was posted in the paper for six months and any creditors had six months to make their claims. If any of them missed the window, it is not my problem, and I doubt the estate is obligated to pay. There has to be a cutoff point sometime.
I’m not going to make it easy for them.
The collection agency is legit, however, they, like most other collection agencies, have pages and pages of complaints and have been charged with fraud multiple times.
Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes for Ripple.
I feel so much better knowing the Palladia is working.
Ripple has gotten cuddly, which is different.
It used to be if I pet him when he was sleeping on the bed, I’d get a dirty look and he’d go sleep on the floor. Now he inches closer and wants me to pet him until he falls asleep.
There was a GSD that used to come to the park, he was a bit too much for his owner. I think he belonged to another family member and she took him in because they couldn’t handle him. He’s at the animal shelter now. I hope he finds a good home soon; he was a nice dog but still a puppy and a bit wild. I can’t take him, even if I didn’t already have Cerby, he would be too much dog for me.
The last thing I need is another working breed. I’m way too tired to deal with that.
Cerby is more my son’s dog now. He listens to my son and prefers to hang out with him.
My poor son doesn’t want any animals, but Adam and Cerby claim him.
I hope you get some new furry friends soon Doggio.
Good to see you again Shoe
I still have 3 uncles on my mother’s side. One is widowed, one is divorced, and one is married, so I guess that gives me one aunt. I still have two great aunts on my mother’s side, one still married, so an uncle too. The widow of one of my great uncles is still alive, I think she is going to be 98 or 99 this year. She is my cousin too.
Aunt because she married my grandmother’s brother, cousin because she is my grandfather’s first cousin.
I have a lot of double relatives on my mother’s side. No incest, two large families in a small town, there are bound to be several marriages between the two.
Like my mother said, she had to leave WV to keep from marrying a relative. She had 44 first cousins just on her mother’s side.
Two of my father’s sisters are still alive, both widowed, and one brother and his wife. One of my aunts is in very bad health, she’s in her 90s. I try to talk with her once a week.
I’m sorry the job was a scam Nettie
Congrats on new job BooFae
Honestly, I can’t imagine living with anybody. I love my son to death, and even he gets on my nerves sometimes. I know I get on his too.
I’m so used to doing what I want whenever I want, I eat when I want, I sleep when I want, I can take a 3-hour bath when I want. I don’t have to share the remote, or my blanket, or cook or clean or do laundry for anyone else.
Ripple and Echo stare at me the whole time I’m eating. They are spoiled, they know they will get something. I think Cerby would too except Echo would chase him away.
My parents used to watch my nieces almost every weekend. They enjoyed it, but my sister expected it all the time. If they had somewhere to go, she’d hound me to watch them. That led to a lot of fighting between us as she’d lie about where she was going, or when she’d be back. One time when I was sick and staying home, she asked me to watch her girls for an hour while she did something. I found out she was at the bar, hanging out and drinking with my BF. She was pissed as shit when I showed up at the bar, handed her her kids, and went back home. She had to find a way home as she couldn’t drive, but she sure as hell wasn’t going to party with my BF while I sat home with her kids.
I know I am missing a bunch of stuff I wanted to reply too
I’m just too far behind
Hiya, gang! I think I’ve caught up on everyone. I have nothing new to report. Lots of long phone calls from people I care about. They seem to come in waves. My kids should be calling any minute.
“Oops! Dropped the slicer! Uh-oh, was that your pepperoni?”
Looks about right. Now you can invite all us Mumpers for a little cruise…or a three-hour tour.
Also, I know your daughter is disappointed, but surely she’s grateful she got all that free childcare–from an excellent caregiver who even made dinner when needed.
Very clever!
GodBod, that’s so nice!
Taters, did you get a new toaster?
BooFae, hope the back improves.
Seanette, so sorry about those scurvy scammers. There seems to be a lot of that going around these days. Hoping you get a legit offer for a great job soon!
Why do I keep reading that as “gropies”?
Sari, please go to the doc if you continue to feel unwell. I know it’s an aggravation, but we need you to be healthy.
Wow, your family tree must have some pretty tangled branches. My sister knew of a family where a woman married a guy, had kids, got divorced, married his father, had more kids, got widowed, married the first guy’s brother, and had one more kid. Figuring out the relationships within that family has helped while away many a dull hour.
Aww. This warms my heart.
I’m so glad you’ll be getting new furry critters, doggio!
Evening all. Did make it to the gym for some bike riding to nowhere and then came home to some Lean Cuisine Fettuchini for dinner. Managed to get by with no nappage, so should sleep well tonight. Getting down to 48F tonight, but near 80F tomorrow according to the Weather Wizards, but then getting progressively cooler as the week goes on. Youth soccer starts may 20th so I need to get ready for that.
shoe, hope you kept your temper with the Dum-Dums.
God bod, you’re a youngn’un, aren’t you? First time talking in person with the boyfriend? What are you going to do when it comes time to meet in person? Just an old guy who hasn’t quite figured out the youth of today and the communication links they take as second nature.
wet one, keep calm and sloth on…you’ve earned it.
OK, that’s all for tonight. Some reading and internetting to finish the day then onto next week. All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
Sounds like Brooke from The Bold & The Beautiful
Didn’t make it to the Fitness Center; planning to go early tomorrow morning. Picked up some a generic BenGay for Hubs after mass; his inner thigh is sore. Came home and he’s on the couch with a heating pad. He had leftover pot roast and I had leftover Million Dollar Pasta for dinner. It was a lot of fun watching basketball today. Spartans started the day as the #8 seed for the Big Ten Tourney but due to the results of 4 of the 6 games today, they’ve climbed up to the #4 seed. Two more games in progress, one will have no impact but depending who wins the other win, could climb to #3 seed.
Just need to call our daughter now to sing Happy Birthday and Sto Lat.
sounds like my family tree … its how I’m related to about 45 percent of a town in Michigan and one in Indiana Indiana
Well, yes, that did happen at a few shows when I was younger…
You all got us talking about the jerk I wacked, so hubs looked him up and learned that since the nipple incident, he was let out on compassionate bail (no idea why) with an ankle bracelet which he tried to cut off so got more time for that as well as attacking a female guard.
He did finally get his time in court for attacking that poor woman but I wasn’t told because they had already dispositioned me and they didn’t need me in court. He got four years for that which makes me grumbly. That poor woman did everything right, she got the restraining order, she moved to a different town and even got a different job and the jerk still found a way to attack her. He deserved much more than 4 years for that. IMHO.
ahem
Sto lat, sto lat
Niech zije, zije nam …
Niech zijjjjjjje nnnnnaammmm!
ETA: I avoided TweedleDumber and ran those fryers like it was goin’ out of style. Go me.
… not a phrase you often encounter in the MMP.
I didn’t think I was a cat person, but 5 cats have told me otherwise.
Hope you feel better.
Yep, I’m young. 17. Maybe the youngest on the Dope (or at least one of the youngest). He lives all the way up in Canada, so I don’t know when I’ll be able to meet him in person, but the nice thing is that we live at the same timezone, so we’re always on the same page in terms of time.
In terms of what I want to do with him…I want to go to lunch with him, walk through a park while holding his hand, and then come back to his house and cuddle.
Same same for me and a miniscule town in western Kansas. Population - 208, most of them related.
