Ads that make you go "Damn that's a good ad."

There was an underwear commercial that ran some years ago that showed a series of briefs hanging from a close line with the captioning (something like) “Some things are better heard than felt,” while this music was playing in the background.

I particularly like the print version of this promotion for Iams dog food that’s running in a couple of magazines that I’ve read, but here’s a video version.

This one for Durex condoms is seriously amusing :stuck_out_tongue:

In the spirit of the OP , another Lottery ad:

Viva la Fun

Bathroom humor, and I love the last couple of seconds.

The PSAs and condom commercials that run during RuPaul’s Drag Race (on Logo) are made of awesome. Excellently done and well targeted to their audience.

There are just some Ads that ooze quality, well to me anyway, that actually make me stop what I am doing to watch it. If I can remember what product it is then it is a great ad. I mean, it can’t be agreat Ad if you can’t remember what it is selling, right?

An example of one (to me) is the Suburu Dad/daughter driving alone for the first time Ad…where the dad sees his little girl as literally a little girl. That was a great Ad.

An oldy but a goodie:

John West Salmon

Those are his real-life daughters.

You don’t have to be Irish but it helps.

A Carlsberg ad

Here’s another Irish Carlsberg ad that rips on the Irish language and how a lot of us only know a few words from school. The subs weren’t on the ad when shown on TV BTW. Almost everyone would know these words.

An ad from India to mix things up. Link. . This company does a lot of ads in the same vein. All pretty good.

Two Australian ads:

One for parents

Baby Love

The best McDonalds ad ever:

Jimmy Dean

I remember being in bars and people would just stop and watch this ad.

This one makes my wife tear up every time…

Lab Puppy

Probably helps that we have two old Chocolate Labs that we’ve had since puppies.

I have to park my inner feminist for the fabulous ‘sex sells’ approach of Virgin Atlantic. Their James Bond ad was great. As was their 25th anniversary ad, recreating the mid-80s in great detail. This new ad is like a movie trailer, based from what I can see on Salmon Rushdie’s novel Midnight Children.

This John Lewis ad created national comment and got this song back in the charts. For no particular reason, it always makes me well up. (FTR, John Lewis is a very much loved chain of department stores, often voted Britain’s favourite brand).

I don’t really watch ads but someone linked to this and I thought it was pretty amusing!

Dove for Men

This Portuguese (I think) commercial for the Peugeot 208 is full of awesomeness.

Born to create drama.

It’s better to be fast to not be bitten by a werewolf and then you’ll be turned into one and you’ll have to stay in and you’ll have to be shaved because you’ll be too hot and then your like rarrarrarrarrar which means I wish I was back to a human…

um what?

Ford “evil” Ka ads -

Skittles commercials

This one makes me feel GREEAAT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6rE0EakhG8
